Chapter 1 - The Unforgiving Worthy

--

A 17-year-old boy named Daimo was riding his bicycle at full speed. The wind rushed past his face as he enjoyed the thrill—until a sudden sound of pounding footsteps echoed behind him.

He turned his head slightly, confused.

To his astonishment, his best friend Rifle sprinted past him.

> Daimo (Surprised): "What?! He overtook me—on foot? I'm on a bicycle! He must've been training like crazy… Rifle really is one hardworking guy."

Frustrated yet fired up, Daimo clenched his teeth and pedaled harder, determined to catch up. But Rifle was already out of sight. Fueled by pure competitiveness, Daimo chose a faster route—unaware that the "Under Construction" sign warning of danger had fallen flat.

He flew down the path recklessly—until a massive pit suddenly appeared before him. He pulled the brakes hard.

> Daimo (Reacting): "No way—!"

The cycle stopped—but he didn't. Daimo was launched forward, falling straight into the deep pit.

> Daimo (Screaming): "NAHHHHHHH!"

He landed brutally. His arm and leg were broken from the fall.

> Daimo (In agony): "AHHHH! It hurts…!"

Then—through the pain—he heard a strange, faint, rhythmic sound coming from deeper within. Three tunnels appeared before him.

> Daimo (Wincing): "I need… help… Maybe someone's down there…"

Crawling through the pain, Daimo dragged himself forward using his elbows. Deep inside the center tunnel, he spotted a glowing purple sphere pulsing with energy.

> Daimo (Weak but curious): "What… is that?"

He reached out and touched it.

---

He instantly blacked out.

---

White Space – 30 Minutes Remain

Daimo opened his eyes slowly. He was now floating in a pure white void, with a single black word hovering in front of him:

"30 Minutes"

> Daimo (Stunned): "Where… am I? My body… it's not in pain anymore. But my bones… they're still broken."

Then, a voice echoed through the space.

> ???: "Yo. I'm Devil Energy. That purple sphere you touched? Yeah, that was me. Congrats—I've just made your soul my slave."

The number began to tick down:

29...28...

> Daimo (Panicking): "W-Wait! Who the hell are you? What is this place? Why is that number ticking?!"

27...

> Devil Energy: "Each second we talk... you lose a minute of your life. That's why it's down to 25 already."

> Daimo: "You're saying… I'm going to die?"

> Devil Energy: "Let me prove it."

Suddenly, Daimo's broken arm snapped back into place, fully healed. In an instant, a burst of purple energy exploded from his palm, shattering the tunnel ceiling above.

> Daimo (Shocked): "What the—?! That power... Okay, I believe you."

24…23…

> Daimo (Terrified): "I'm really going to die…"

> Devil Energy: "There's a way to extend your life."

> Daimo: "Tell me. How?"

> Devil Energy: "You'll start seeing a number above every person's head. That number doesn't show how long they'll live—it shows how many minutes you gain if you kill them."

> Daimo (Chuckling darkly): "I get it. Don't talk to me anymore—I understand."

---

He climbed out of the pit, bolting toward home. The speed at which he ran was inhuman—an effect of the devil's power.

He reached his house, stormed inside.

> Mom: "Look at you! Your clothes are a mess!"

Daimo noticed the number "2 Months" floating above her head.

> Daimo: "Mom… Can you make me some coffee? I'm heading to my room."

> Mom: "Just wait a moment—"

Daimo whispered to himself:

> "I've got powers now. If I don't talk to that voice… the timer doesn't drop fast."

10 minutes gone. 13 minutes left.

> "I'll never kill my parents," he muttered.

Another 12 minutes passed.

1 minute left.

> Mom: "Coffee's ready!"

As she walked in, Daimo reached for the cup—but then paused.

> "I can move fast. I can kill someone else... I'll get more time that way."

But instead of grabbing the cup, his hands wrapped around her neck. She gasped, her body lifted off the ground.

15...14...13...12...

> Mom (Screaming): "DAIMO!!"

He snapped out of it, releasing her. She stumbled away—just as the front door opened.

His father stood there.

"3 Months" hovered above his head.

They were now both in Daimo's line of sight.

3...2...

At the final second, Daimo raised his hand—and fired a purple beam straight through both their hearts.

5 Months Gained.

Silence.

Then the voice returned—deeper, darker than ever.

> Devil Energy: "Can I call you...

The Unforgiving Worthy?"
