Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Uchiha Clan

Rin Uchiha

*(Image)*

He is a member of the prestigious Uchiha clan within the village of Konoha, but also the little brother of Shisui Uchiha.

However, he is known for having average talent, according to his clan's high standards.

Even worse, his elder brother's shadow has pushed many people to consider him as trash.

All of this explains his current powerlessness.

"I... Itachi-senpai... W... why?"

The child of about 8 years old held his grandmother in his arms, while a shadow with scarlet eyes loomed over him.

Anger, rage, and powerlessness.

All these negative feelings—anger, rage, and powerlessness—allowed this Uchiha, despite being known for his average talent, to unlock his Sharingan.

Yet, deep down he knew:

Against the man standing before him, this power remained insufficient.

"Why? Good question, but there's no need for a weakling to hear it."

Itachi's cold and indifferent words marked the end of the conversation.

He drew the blade sheathed on his back and brought it down on the child without a shadow of hesitation in his movement.

Blood covered the ground.

Rin Uchiha's reluctant face remained frozen after this merciless attack.

However, he perceived a disgusting and strange murmur at his last moment.

"Sorry, Rin-san... I... I'm really sorry."

This sentence allowed him to reach another tomoe in his Sharingan, but what was the point?

He was dead... at least, the former Rin Uchiha.

A few hours after Itachi's departure,

the young boy's body suddenly came back to life, without any apparent explanation.

If it stopped there, it wouldn't be too absurd.

But aside from this miraculous healing, the child's eyes began to evolve at a visible speed.

Finally, they reached a legendary dojutsu, but they instinctively regressed one level because of the heavy burden weighing on his body.

The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan remained visible for a moment, before he deactivated it to return to ordinary eyes.

"Okay... Secret granted me the background and objects I visualized," he muttered, after checking his body as well as the general state of his situation.

...

The things I asked the angel for were simple... but complex in certain aspects.

First, I asked to keep my Quirk.

After that, I mentioned wanting to be born within the Uchiha clan, as Shisui Uchiha's little brother.

Why this specific request?

Because I wanted a decent start, but not too complex or paralyzing.

For example, I could have become an Ōtsutsuki or even the Shogun's son from the beginning.

Isn't that tempting?

Yet, these ideas had annoying restrictions from my point of view.

For example: if I had to become the Shogun's son, then I would have to kill him to take his place, or wait years before possessing absolute authority over the Land of Fire.

And frankly, I'm not really a fan of parricide.

As for the Ōtsutsuki option?

I don't know enough about this clan, nor their laws, nor even their divine art—the Shinjutsu.

That's why I chose to be cautious.

I wouldn't want to suffer a technique like Ada's Omnipotence without even realizing it.

Of course, the chance of it working on me is low thanks to my Quirk's mental filtering effect.

But I prefer to avoid a potential problem.

Thus, my options were greatly reduced when writing my background.

That's why I possess a pair of Rinnegan.

Even though, for now, I only have access to the Eternal Mangekyō stage.

I'm still unable to withstand the pressure exerted by the Rinnegan on my body.

Third, I asked to obtain two specific abilities related to the Mangekyō Sharingan.

"Should I leave now? Or should I rather steal my clan's inheritance first?"

Yes, my two Mangekyō abilities are specialized in flight and evasion.

My left eye allows instant teleportation to any place I've already visited. But also randomly within an area I've previously defined.

As for my right eye, it allows complete restoration of a living being or object.

This eye's power is based on time, but it has an annoying flaw:

The greater the temporal distance between the present moment and that of the target's optimal state, the more chakra needed for restoration increases.

"Damn, Itachi..."

After leaving my house, I was confronted with a morbid spectacle.

Bodies scattered on the ground, all bearing mortal wounds.

Unconsciously, my eyes fell on the last thing I had asked the angel for in my personal list:

A storage ring.

This one wasn't empty, as I had demanded as many magic scrolls as possible.

These scrolls contain the Resurrection spell.

This magic is supposed to work only once per person.

Unfortunately, the angel only gave me three.

"*sigh* calm down, Rin... you mustn't panic and find all the valuable objects"

I went back inside the house to retrieve all my meager ninja equipment, as well as Shisui's.

Unfortunately, the ANBU outfit didn't fit me because of my still too young age.

So I settled for the ANBU mask.

Before leaving the house, I took one last look back, then left the place, leaving behind the lifeless and eyeless body of a clone.

Rin Uchiha, the original, was killed by Itachi.

I can't allow Konoha to doubt this, at least not for now.

The clone's body has my DNA and other biological elements sufficient to scientifically prove my identity.

This should be enough to keep the village ignorant of my survival.

"Damn... There's a powerful chakra in the Naka Shrine, and another one eliminating the Uchiha one by one. As for the last one..."

The last chakra isn't unknown to me, unlike the first two that I can detect thanks to my Mangekyō.

It must be Itachi.

As for the other two, I can reasonably conclude that it's Orochimaru and Obito.

"However... why would Obito be at the Naka Shrine?"

Indeed, I assumed it was indeed Obito Uchiha, and not Orochimaru.

Why?

One is obsessed with his twisted idea of saving the world, while the other is a mad scientist.

I don't see Orochimaru wasting his precious time with legends or rumors, when he can obtain many Sharingan.

A dōjutsu that has long obsessed him.

In the end, I gave up searching around the Naka Shrine.

I instead headed toward the Uchiha police, as I detected no chakra in that direction.

"I should be able to gather enough resources here, provided Obito and Orochimaru haven't looted everything."

The pillaging was a monumental success.

It seems the murderers didn't have time to collect their loot.

This allowed me to throw everything into my storage ring.

After that, I used my Rinnegan again to improve my perception and locate Itachi as well as the others.

It was a lucky choice, as chakra signatures began to invade the Uchiha district.

They were weaker than those of Obito and the others, but I couldn't underestimate them.

I immediately left the building, carefully avoiding all the chakras detected thanks to my eyes, until I reached Itachi Uchiha's former location.

"Izumi Uchiha..."

Dead.

She had a peaceful expression on her face, but I could also detect a trace of sorrow there.

Without hesitation, I used my storage ring to preserve her corpse.

"Who goes there?!" A voice rang out and called to me, but I didn't respond.

I frowned behind my mask.

A sensor ninja.

I've always had a certain mistrust toward Itachi and Obito, because they possess the Sharingan.

They naturally have sensory abilities, but I had forgotten about Danzō's Root ninjas.

I took out some shuriken that I threw at him.

The unknown blond ninja easily dodged my assault, as I had expected.

I immediately threw a smoke bomb.

"Coward!"

Maybe he thought I was a proud Uchiha, and tried to lure me with provocations.

However, I ignored him and immediately teleported out of Konoha.

It's a shame I was spotted by Danzō's men, but trying to eliminate this ninja would have been an unnecessary risk.

I'm not yet used to my chakra overflow caused by my eyes' evolution.

Especially since using the Rinnegan as a practical sensory tool already represents my current limit.

Anyway, Danzō and Hiruzen have nothing that allows them to trace back to my current identity.

Like Obito before me... I am officially dead in Konoha's eyes.
