The other reason why the crowd went crazy today was that two of India's teams were still in the race to become the number one. With the same 7 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat, both India's 1st team and 2nd team were at the number 3 and 4 spots on the standings, only behind Armenia and Uzbekistan. They were only one win away from those two, so if they managed to win while the other two slipped, they could basically dominate the open's section by grabbing the gold and silver medals at the same time.
It was nearly impossible, but the hope was still there.
