Chapter 11 - Ch 11

Moreover, given Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's status as the final villain of the original story, her rating would definitely be high. Perhaps she could even help him sire several exceptionally powerful children.

With this new, grander scheme in mind, he looked at Obito again, the raw killing intent he felt moments before having subsided. Obito was a crucial pawn in the plan to resurrect Kaguya. If he killed him now, who would bring her back? He still intended to get his revenge on the Sage of Six Paths, and making Kaguya his own was the perfect way to do it.

However, Obito had still aided the man who tried to kill his family. For that, he still needed to be taught a harsh lesson. Kagami decided to toy with him, to use ordinary slashes for five minutes until Obito's intangibility timed out. Then, he would dismember him as a warning. As for Itachi, he could always be hunted down and dealt with later.

So, Kagami continued his relentless assault, unleashing a storm of slashes that forced Obito to maintain his Kamui phasing to survive.

Looking at the unceasing barrage, Obito stood with an air of contempt, allowing the attacks to pass harmlessly through his form. But as time ticked by and Kagami showed no signs of stopping, a seed of panic began to sprout in his heart. His intangibility had a limit of five minutes. If this kept up, he would likely be shredded into pieces.

The problem was, to escape into the Kamui dimension, he first had to become solid. With Kagami's attacks not letting up for even a second, he didn't dare risk it.

Uchiha Obito was filled with regret. He should have just retreated immediately instead of posturing in front of Kagami. Now, he was trapped. But he couldn't let his panic show.

"Stop!" he taunted, his voice laced with false bravado. "Your attacks will never harm me!" He hoped his words might convince Kagami to give up.

He had no idea that Kagami was perfectly aware of the weakness of his ability.

"I don't believe it," Kagami said, playing along. "I'll just have to keep chopping for a few days and nights until something gives!"

He knew the masked man was panicking, so he only increased the speed and intensity of his attacks.

Hearing this, Obito was stunned. Damn it, is he insane? Who has this kind of persistence?

He cursed inwardly, his mind racing as he desperately sought a way to escape. Three minutes had already passed. If this continued, he might actually be diced into mincemeat. He tried to move, to retreat, but found himself frozen in place. No matter how he tried, he couldn't move from his spot.

Kagami's slashes continued to pass through his body, a constant, terrifying reminder of his predicament.

Obito was on the verge of a breakdown. He knew it had to be Kagami, using some unknown ability to restrict his movements. And he was helpless, with no way to counter it.

What Obito didn't know was that while Kagami's Mugen was locking him in place by making the distance between him and his surroundings infinite, it was also rapidly consuming Kagami's own ocular power. At his current level, he could only maintain this for about half an hour before going blind. If he wasn't constantly using his reversal technique to heal the strain on his eyes, they would have collapsed and started bleeding long ago. Even so, he was only barely staving off blindness; he couldn't hold on forever. Pushing it too long would cause his eyes to burst from the pressure. To solve the problem of blindness permanently, he would need to evolve his Mangekyo Sharingan into its Eternal form.

However, Kagami wasn't worried. He was confident that, in time, he would have the opportunity to obtain the Eternal Mangekyo, and perhaps even the Rinnegan.

Seeing no way out, Obito made a desperate choice. He steeled himself and dropped his intangibility. In that instant, he was torn to shreds by Kagami's relentless assault.

Kagami was momentarily surprised. He hadn't expected Obito to suddenly give up. But he wasn't worried that Obito was truly dead. To take such a risk, he must have been planning to use Izanagi to survive.

Just as Kagami predicted, Obito's shredded form miraculously reformed. He shot Kagami a look of pure hatred before shamefully retreating into the safety of the Kamui dimension. Although Izanagi had saved his life, the phantom sensation of being sliced into pieces was seared into his mind, leaving him with a deep-seated trauma.

Kagami didn't try to stop him. After using Izanagi, Obito was invincible for a full minute. Any further attacks would be pointless.

After Obito vanished, Kagami finally allowed himself to relax, but only slightly. He slowly walked over to his wife and son. Little Sukuna, tired from all the crying, had finally fallen into a quiet sleep. So much had happened today, and Kagami felt the exhaustion settling deep into his bones. But looking at his sleeping family, a gentle, genuine smile finally touched his lips.

Because Uchiha Rinne was unconscious from exhaustion, not injury, Kagami's reversal technique couldn't wake her. Still, he channeled the healing energy into her. Even if it couldn't restore her stamina, it would help her exhausted body recover faster from childbirth and allow her to rest more comfortably. As the energy flowed, the pale color of Rinne's face was replaced by a healthy, rosy hue, and the worried frown on her brow gradually smoothed out.

Seeing this, Kagami slowly stopped the technique.

But just as he was about to move his wife and child to a more comfortable place to rest, he heard the faint rustle of movement all around him.

Kagami's face immediately turned cold. He looked around and found himself surrounded by hundreds of ninja wearing animal masks. From the design of the masks, he immediately identified them as shinobi from Konoha's Root. He wasn't surprised. With Danzo Shimura's insatiable greed for the Sharingan, he would never miss an opportunity like this.

"Damn it, Danzo is a truly disgusting leech for konoha" Kagami cursed inwardly.

But before he could make a move, a loud, self-righteous voice boomed through the clearing. "Uchiha Kagami, how dare you massacre the Uchiha clan! You are a monster! Surrender now, or be killed if you resist the arrest!"

Kagami looked over and saw the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, standing there, his face a mask of righteous fury as he pinned the blame squarely on him. Kagami was surprised. He hadn't expected the cautious Hiruzen to come forward personally. Did he really think he had the upper hand?

Next to Hiruzen, Danzo stared at the Hokage, his eyes wide with a look that clearly said, "Shameless! Is there no limit to your hypocrisy?"

But he recovered in an instant, his own face twisting into an expression of righteous indignation. "Uchiha Kagami, you have committed the cruelest of acts, slaughtering your own kin. We will not tolerate a beast like you! Surrender now!"
