Chapter 1 - How on Earth Am I Worthy of Being Kidnapped by Ho-Oh?

The Dragon-type Family of Blackthorn City, Johto region.

This is one of the most famous and prestigious families in the Johto region, even in Kanto, known for their mastery of Dragon-type power.

With a long history, the Dragon-type Family, which possesses the Dragon's Den, has never declined.

In fact, they have always held the position of Trainer of Blackthorn City Gym, but…

That's all it was.

Because in recent years, although it hasn't been explicitly stated, the Dragon-type Family has indeed not produced any prodigies for too long who could lead the Dragon-type Family to a higher position.

This also made the Dragon-type Family Head and a group of elders quite worried.

But there was one person who was different.

Night, stars dotted the sky, and a crescent moon adorned the night sky, its cold moonlight bringing a little brightness to the earth.

"There's still no mention of Lance's name, but it should be soon."

In the luxurious backyard of the Royal Dragon Mansion, a delicate spiky white-haired little boy sat on a soft chair, putting down the Pokémon book in his hand and muttering softly.

His current name was Ryuga, and he was a transmigrator who had been in this world for eight full years.

But this world was slightly different from what he remembered.

Yes, it was the difference in the timeline!

The current Kanto Elite Four, except for Agatha, were all strangers to Ryuga.

Especially that man who commanded Dragons, he had not yet stood at the peak of Kanto!

"If Clair is here, there's no reason for Lance not to exist, but the Dragon-type Family indeed doesn't have a person named Lance…"

"Then, without a doubt, he was born in Viridian Forest and will challenge the Alliance. It should be in the next few years, right?"

Ryuga's clear amber eyes pondered.

He was a direct descendant of the Dragon-type Family, but after searching through the Dragon-type Family's genealogy, he did not see that familiar name.

Yes, it was that red-haired Dragon Master Lance, Wataru, who stood at the peak of Kanto in the original work!

If he wasn't born into the Dragon-type Family, then it's very likely that Lance was born in Viridian Forest!

"Still ten years away, really, why isn't it like in the TV show?"

Ryuga murmured as if complaining, but a smile spread across his lips, an arc that completely mismatched his tender appearance.

What did Lance from Viridian Forest represent?

Every ten or several decades, some special children would be born in Viridian Forest and receive its gifts and blessings.

And this special power allowed that human to communicate with Pokémon, heal their injuries, and gain the affection of wild Pokémon.

Viridian Power! (Power of Viridian)

Yes, it was Viridian Power, and Lance, born in Viridian Forest, was the chosen lucky one of the previous generation.

And the lucky one before Lance was Giovanni, who was also favored by Viridian Forest!

This was a storyline setting from the special chapter, and the third one was Yellow from Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, but Yellow should only be a few years old now.

(A/N: Green Oak is Professor Oak's grandson and Red rival here while Blue is a girl adapted from game series.)

"If it's the special chapter, then that's really interesting."

Ryuga gently moved his palms, and shimmering light flickered in his clear amber eyes.

Compared to the more child-oriented TV version, the special chapter was clearly more realistic and brutal, and the Lance in the special chapter...

He was completely different from the mature and righteous Dragon Master Lance in the game and anime versions.

"It's better to train Pokémon well and strive to become stronger so as not to waste this rebirth."

Putting down the book, Ryuga lay back on the soft chair, looking at the beautiful night sky and smiling.

It was precisely because he cherished this hard-won rebirth that Ryuga did not waste a single day.

As a direct descendant of the Dragon-type Family and a child who had been intelligent since childhood, he was highly valued by the family.

Almost all the elders in the family regarded Ryuga as the hope of the Dragon-type Family.

Even Ryuga's request for a talented Dragon-type Pokémon at his age was granted!

"It's time to go back and rest. Tomorrow, I'll arrange a training plan for the little guy first… Wait?"

After resting for a while, Ryuga stood up, preparing to return to his room to rest, but just then…

"Chirp~"

A high-pitched cry sounded in Ryuga's ears, accompanied by an incredibly strong gust of wind.

"????"

Ryuga was completely stunned.

Before he could react, his body was instantly grabbed by a giant claw.

The sudden situation made the young Ryuga feel dizzy.

"Is this poisonous?"

When Ryuga regained consciousness, his red eyes scanned around, revealing a vast night sky.

Ryuga's face froze.

He was currently being carried by a giant bird-like Pokémon, flying towards a certain location…

And, most importantly…

With iridescent feathers and a warm aura, this Pokémon that had grabbed Ryuga.

It was Ho-Oh, one of the supreme Fire-type legends of Kanto!

How on earth am I worthy of being kidnapped by Ho-Oh?

"There's no reason…"

Held by Ho-Oh's powerful claws, Ryuga helplessly looked down at the night view.

Although he really wanted to have a good chat with this legend, after he greeted it, Ho-Oh completely ignored him.

After two attempts, Ryuga gave up.

Ho-Oh flew very fast, but perhaps due to Ho-Oh's care, Ryuga did not feel the impact of strong winds or discomfort.

"Where does Ho-Oh want to take me?"

Time passed quickly.

Ryuga clearly noticed that Ho-Oh's flying speed had slowed down and it was lowering its altitude.

Ryuga frowned, looking carefully below, but he didn't recognize this place.

However, he knew that it was definitely not too far from Blackthorn City.

Because, all things considered, Ho-Oh had only flown for less than half an hour.

This meant that this place was definitely still within the Johto region.

"There are quite a few people… These people were also captured."

Ryuga looked down at the ground.

At this altitude, he could see quite clearly.

There were indeed many children standing on the ground.

They didn't look very old, only around seven or eight.

Some looked around blankly, while others were silently sobbing.

Ho-Oh slowly landed and released Ryuga, then flapped its wings and flew away again, not even glancing at the children on the ground.

"Why did Ho-Oh capture these children? Ho-Oh is supposed to be a kind Pokémon."

Ryuga glanced at these 'cellmates', both male and female, still not understanding, but he had a rough guess.

The beings at the pinnacle of the Pokémon world were undoubtedly legends, or what the general public in his previous life called Legendary Pokemons or Divine Beasts.

And even in this real world, those high-level legends whose life-form ranks almost reached the world's limit were also respectfully referred to as Gods!

Legendary Pokémon had different personalities, but aside from those that were extremely difficult to get along with, like Yveltal and Ice Dragon Kyurem.

Most legends slept in some corner of the world, treating humans with indifference, keeping to themselves.

Some legends even had a relatively friendly attitude towards humans.

The most famous ancient legends in Kanto were Mew, Ho-Oh, and Lugia.

Although Ho-Oh was deeply disappointed with humans due to events hundreds of years ago, and even left its habitat, the Bell Tower in Ecruteak City, it still held hope for humanity.

The Three Legendary Beasts, who roamed various parts of the world on behalf of Ho-Oh, were the best proof, because one of the purposes of the Three Legendary Beasts' journey was to find children with pure hearts to become Rainbow Heroes for Ho-Oh.

Ho-Oh might abhor humans with dark hearts, but it would never harm innocent humans, let alone commit acts of kidnapping.

So Ryuga really couldn't understand.

"Woo~"

And just then, another low, high-pitched cry sounded.

Ryuga looked up, and ripples appeared in his red eyes again, as another giant Pokémon came into view.

Its white, magnificent body was astonishingly beautiful even in the night, it was Lugia, the 'Guardian of the Seas' revered by devout humans in Kanto legend!

(Pic Here)

Lugia descended its body, and a young child was gently placed down by Lugia using Psychic power…

Lugia is also a kidnapper?

Seeing this, Ryuga's eyelids twitched.

He already had a guess in his heart.

Suddenly being kidnapped was undoubtedly terrifying for these young children with immature minds.

Especially when their kidnapper was a person wearing an ice sculpture mask, whose aura was gloomy and cold.

Yes, the mastermind who extravagantly used two high-level Kanto legends as kidnappers appeared.

"It really is this old monster."

Ryuga sighed inwardly.

If being caught by Ho-Oh was still a mystery, then upon seeing Lugia, Ryuga understood.

Ho-Oh and Lugia were both legends standing at the peak of the world, with terrifying strength.

To be able to simultaneously capture these two legends and even make them go against their will to abduct innocent young children.

Who else could it be but the Masked Man in front?

Yes, it was Pryce, the most terrifying boss in the Pokémon Special Chapter, the Masked Man!

In the original work, he was the one who captured Lugia and Ho-Oh, and then had these two legends search for talented children throughout Kanto Johto to prepare for his subsequent plans.

And among these children were Blue, Silver, Karen, and Will!

"However, this matter became his biggest failure, perhaps this was also beyond Pryce's expectation."

Looking at Pryce, who was cloaked in a gray robe, Ryuga's eyes flickered. Defeating and capturing Lugia and Ho-Oh.

This could be said to be Pryce's peak achievement, but later, Lugia and Ho-Oh betrayed Pryce.

Why?

In Ryuga's opinion, Lugia and Ho-Oh were both benevolent legends.

Going against their will to kidnap innocent children for Pryce, destroying so many families.

This undoubtedly made these two legends extremely displeased.

Pryce's strength had gained their recognition, but Pryce's character clearly did not meet the two legends' requirements.

So, after this incident, the two betrayed Pryce.

In the Pokémon world, it's never just humans unilaterally choosing Pokémon as companions.

Pokémon also autonomously choose their partners.

And legends, whose wisdom is no less than that of humans, are even more so!

Even if they are defeated and forcibly captured, if that person does not meet their requirements, the legend will choose to leave!

"I wonder if it's lucky or unlucky."

Having no choice but to be led by Pryce towards an unknown destination, Ryuga took a deep breath, calming the turmoil in his heart.
