Chapter 151 - 151: The Phone That Shocked Everyone — Jean Who Loves Selfies

At that moment, Acting Grand Master Jean had just finished reading Detective Conan

and was heading over to Han Feng to receive her reward.

When she saw Ningguang and the others, she smiled and greeted them politely.

"Miss Ningguang, Miss Keqing, and the three secretaries— it's been a while."

Because Mondstadt and Liyue were neighboring regions, the two cities often traded with one another and maintained a friendly relationship.

As for how Jean knew they were here— it was Eula who told her.

When Jean first heard about it, she had been stunned.

Not only had Boss Han remodeled his comic shop overnight on a massive scale, he had even opened a branch in Liyue!

Jean could only sigh in admiration— Han Feng's capabilities were truly unfathomable.

Still, this was a good thing for both Mondstadt and Liyue.

Even though people couldn't travel freely between the two cities, their communication would become far more frequent.

Any major event on one side could quickly reach the other.

Naturally, Ningguang and Keqing understood this as well.

They smiled warmly in return.

"It really has been a while, Miss Jean."

"Miss Jean," Ningguang added meaningfully, "you should be careful. The people over there… are not simple."

That was all Ningguang could say.

After all, the matter involved Mondstadt and the Fatui— it wasn't something Liyue should interfere in.

Otherwise, it could spark unnecessary internal conflict.

"Thank you for the reminder, Miss Ningguang. I'll be careful."

Jean smiled confidently.

She had been so worried about the Doctor earlier that she almost forgot— she still had her ace in the hole: one of Sun Wukong's hairs!

That strand carried mysterious, boundless power.

As long as the Doctor's reward wasn't absurdly strong, Jean was confident she could handle him.

Still, she had left the hair in her office.

Looks like she'd have to go retrieve it after collecting her reward.

"Good. Please—go ahead," Ningguang said, stepping aside.

Jean nodded gratefully and walked up to the counter.

The others stayed where they were, curious to see what Jean would receive.

A moment later, the system message appeared:

[Customer Jean has finished reading Detective Conan.

Reward: Twenty Smartphones.]

[Note: Modified by the system. Aside from being unable to connect to the Internet, all other functions are complete.

Devices can communicate across the entire continent of Teyvat and are powered by solar energy.]

"Electronic devices again?" Han Feng murmured, a little surprised.

Previously, Lisa's reward had also been an electronic device— a laptop that could only store Digimon data.

Pretty limited in use.

But this time was different.

These were smartphones.

Sure, without Internet access, many functions would be cut off.

But just the communication feature alone was incredibly powerful.

Not to mention:

they could take photos, record videos…

This was going to blow people's minds.

And with solar charging, they'd never have to worry about running out of power.

A hum filled the air—

Wong—!

A brilliant beam of light descended, landing on the counter in front of Jean.

When the glow faded, twenty sleek smartphones were lined up neatly.

Jean picked one up curiously.

She'd seen these before— in the manga she'd just read.

In that world, everyone seemed to have one.

It was called… a phone, wasn't it?

Han Feng smiled and explained:

"This is a smartphone.

It can take photos, record videos, and most importantly— it allows you to communicate across all of Teyvat."

At that, both Ningguang and Keqing froze in shock.

This tiny thing could do what?!

Taking photos and recording videos didn't mean much to them, but communication across the entire continent?

Even the adepti couldn't do that!

Their minds raced as they instantly understood its importance.

With these phones, communication and coordination would become instantaneous.

"Looks like Miss Jean got quite an incredible reward,"

Ningguang said in awe.

Keqing nodded in agreement.

Jean, on the other hand, didn't seem overly surprised.

After all, she had read about phones in Detective Conan— she knew what they could do.

Still, the fact that these worked across Teyvat did surprise her.

There was one issue, though…

Even if she knew what a phone was, she had no idea how to use one.

So she looked at Han Feng for help.

"Let me show you," he said.

He picked up a phone and began demonstrating.

"This button turns it on.

This one takes photos.

This starts video recording.

And this is how you chat with friends…"

He went over each function patiently, step by step.

"It's so… amazing!"

Jean's eyes sparkled like a child discovering a new toy.

Every feature Han Feng introduced made her gasp in wonder.

Han Feng wasn't surprised.

Even back in the flip-phone era, the arrival of smartphones had been revolutionary— so for people in a world that had never even seen one, it was practically magic.

"Phones need power to run," he added, "but they recharge just by being in sunlight, so you don't have to worry about running out."

"They recharge from sunlight? That's incredible!"

Jean was amazed.

She remembered when Lisa's laptop battery had died, and Lisa recharged it using Electro energy.

But this phone seemed even better— no need for magic at all.

After watching Han Feng's demonstration, Jean eagerly tried for herself.

She quickly got the hang of it— after all, the basics weren't too hard.

The only difficulty was the first impression— it was so new, so different, that it felt almost unreal.

"This is… really fun!"

Reluctantly, Jean put the phone down.

It was almost addictive— the more she held it, the harder it was to stop.

And among all its functions, the selfie camera quickly became her favorite.

She'd already taken several self-portraits— and, when Han Feng wasn't looking, she even snuck in a few photos of him.
