He awoke with a loud gasp. No pain nor ringing on his ears.
"Where?"
He was met with silence. His eyes opening slowly, expecting blinding lights or darkness, yet, he saw a sky too vast to describe. Colored in soft golds and silvers that shimmered between dawn and dusk concocted into one. There were no sharp or harsh edges here. Everything felt so unfamiliar yet so much like home.
"Hello? Father!?"
"Did I die?"
He shouts at the top of his lungs yet his voice melted softly into the air, his distress call was softly caressed into nothingness.
John
His name was called– the voice was everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
"WHO!?"
He looked everywhere until he saw a spirit-like apparition figure bathe in soft glowing light. Surrounding this figure were seven golden lamp candles.
"Uh-uhm"
John couldn't utter a word, too shocked to know what's even going on. Only his back began to break out in cold sweat, and he knows this feeling he thought he casted long ago– fear.
Have no fear child
The voice rebounded throughout the vast sky. Cladded in white robe with a sharp two-edged sword sheathed on its belt, two globes of fire bore itself on its sockets as it gazes itself on John.
Take everything into account and bore it to memory.
For you are blessed to witness the revelation.
With those confusing words, John was suddenly struck with dizziness and a burning sensation in his right eye before being whisked away from that vast expanse of clouds; but not before seeing a glimpse of a huge throne with a blinding light sitting atop it, surrounded by twenty-four thrones and four winged living creatures dotted with eyes all over its body.
"WHAT THE FUUUU~!!"
His voice drags along as he free-falls from the skies. During the long duration of his skydiving, he comes eye to eye with a lamb with seven horns and eyes, a dagger stabbed right into its heart while holding a huge scroll on its hooves with seven wax seals stamped on it. Seeing John, it held a huge unnatural human-like grin and breaks all the seals gleefully with its hooves.
Whooosh~
Finally left on his own, the wind swept past him, howling like banshees. It wasn't fear that he felt, but seeing the beauty of earth had him captivated. It was wonder!
From above, the beauty of the planet unfolded like a living painting–breathtaking, fragile and so full of life.
The clouds were peeling around him like curtains. His heart pounded, not of terror–no! But of hearthache.
"Maybe this is what mother saw after she drew her last breath"
He smiles weakly, tears streaming upwards from the skies, lifted by the wind.
"Should've asked them how she's doing"
He chuckles to himself, thinking if he could ask God who just kidnapped him–if his mom was doing okay or those were just hallucinations he felt after dying on the ring.
"Sorry mom, dad"
"Your son died young and stupid"
"Carrying nothing on his death"
He mutters as he opens his eyes. The ground coming fast–then faster.
"Ah, the earth is so beautiful"
__________
He jolted upright, breath ragged, and chest heaving like he'd just surface from deep waters.
Beep beep~
He looks around and what came to view was a world of beeping and sterile white.
"Wh-what?"
His throat was parched as he looked at his arms, IV lines stabbed all over as it connects itself from a metal tree with bags of fluid hanging. His arms shook weakly as he balls up his hand to a fist– his strength was no more. He was thin–so thin that he even thought what was the use of keeping him alive like this?
"Shit"
Beneath his stiff hospital gown were Electrodes plastered all over his chest, mapping his heartbeat on a monitor.
"Hahaha"
Seeing the absurdity of his situation, John laughs out loud, but not before his dry throat crooks up.
"So this is being powerless huh?"
He mutters, but not before shaking his head then forcing himself to scoot and sit on the edge of the bed by supporting himself with the IV pole.
"Feel's disgusting, pa's gone knock my head when he sees me like this"
He chuckles to himself, but then wonders where his father might be right now.
"He might be in the gym, teachin' his clients and lookin' at asses"
Gripping the IV pole with both his hands, he pulled himself up and finally managed to stand after a few minutes.
BEEEEEEP~
A long and annoying chirp started ringing beneath his bed.
"What kinda hospital is this?"
John winces, the noise dragged on for a few seconds before the door to his room opened up. A massive figure that had to duck its head before the door entered his room.
"Congratulations mister John for your speedy seven years of recovery"
"As expected of a man that bears the seal of God"
The figure stood as tall as seven feet. Donning a doctor's outfit that barely fitted his hunched body, a small crown of gold perched atop its head. The man had a serious look on his face, but had a brief look of disgust upon saying the 'seal of God'. He had flowy golden locks of long hair that seemed so soft and gentle; what's more shocking is his teeth bares itself when he talks, it was sharp and long– almost like a lion's.
"Uhm, you suppose to be my doc?"
John's hair on his arm started standing at attention– his back breaking out in sweat once again as his knees started buckling from weakness– he felt fear once again.
"You shouldn't be gallivanting around dear patient"
"I know you must be excited and all, but please take a wonderful rest"
Left with no choice, he follows his 'doctor' and got back to his bed without a word.
Good
The 'doctor' smiled eerily as its head bent in an unnatural way before walking over by his side and opening the curtains.
"Welcome back to Earth"
The view was hell on earth
