Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Final Factor

☆ ★ ✮ ★ ☆

The Holy Kingdom of Gusteko was permeated by a deadly frost, plunging everything into snowy weather— making the environment nigh-uninhabitable.

Amongst the other four nations, it was the poorest— possessing fields that were unfit for crops, and farms lacking the warm shelter needed to groom cattle. However, they provided other resources in trade: magic stones. Their mountains and caverns possessed heaps and heaps of them— far more than the other countries. So in the end, they were still a valuable party in national trade.

The Holy Kingdom of Gusteko— as it was named, was a theocracy that worshipped the abundant population of spirits. These spirits lived amongst them, providing the warmth needed to survive such a frigid environment.

These spirits were provided by Odglass, considered the merciless mother of Gusteko— the Great Spirit not only in charge of these spirits, but also the individual responsible for the crowning of each Holy Prince in the kingdom's history. Without her, the nation would've fallen long ago.

And this nation, filled with numerous citizens of the faith, was also plagued by assassins and other curse-art users, such as shamans.

"Damn! It's a bit hard to see here!" As Subaru rode the turbulent winds, he voiced a complaint ridden with irritation.

The once blue sky was swept away by dense clouds— forming huge clumps that not only blocked out the sun, but gave way to a severe blizzard. No matter where Subaru looked, he was only met by white. Anyone who wasn't already acclimated to the severe cold would no doubt lose themselves in what was a maze of white.

However, Subaru's complaint wasn't made with overall sincerity, since he possessed abilities that negated the obstacles that came with traversing a frigid environment.

As he traveled through the air, there was an invisible forcefield wrapped around him, preventing the cold and snow from ever touching. What was more, he was making use of a new technique he called Dimension-Layer Peeking, which allowed him to see through objects. It was a useful technique that helped him traverse through the harsh weather.

Nonetheless, it had been a few short hours since he had departed from that village, where he had killed Roy, the Archbishop of Gluttony. It was a decision that left him with satisfaction. The individual who caused him loops of needless suffering was now purged from this world.

What was more, he had also reversed the damage the Archbishop caused. All those that were slain were resurrected using his Authority of Envy, and all destruction of property was reversed with it as well.

The civilians were both awe-stricken and filled with gratitude, willing to house and celebrate him. However, Subaru humbly declined the offer, as he wanted to continue the mission he set out to do. That mission— which was to kill the remaining Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Lye Batenkios, and the Sin Archbishop of Lust, Capella Emerada Lugunica.

He combed through Roy's past, and figured out that Capella not only led a large criminal organization, but that very criminal organization was nestled within Gusteko.

That's why he had quickly made haste. He'd kill them, then go and release Satella from her seal, then—

Then? Subaru didn't know. But he'd figure it out.

He continued to shoot forward, his upgraded Authority allowing him to move even faster than before. With how fast he was moving, he was more akin to a military-grade missile than an actual person.

Gusteko was a mountainous environment. Each person was a victim to the snow that surrounded them. That's why it was common for entire towns to disappear under avalanches. However, there were cities that were immune to this— places that were under the protection of Hallowed Land. This Hallowed Land provided protection from the cold and snow, allowing people to live warmly and comfortably.

However, this Hallowed Land was only built around cities and other land protected by nobility, so a majority of commoners were forced to live within the harsh snow.

Capella's residency benefited from being built upon Hallowed Land. That was an important key factor.

That's why Subaru grinned when his vision suddenly became clear— not beholden by the thick grey clouds. He immediately stopped— his Authority preventing a sonic boom as all his momentum quickly died out.

A bright, warm light was casted over him. Looking up, Subaru saw the familiar ball of fire that was the sun. It casted a yellow hue over the landscape. The way the Hallowed Land provided a thin line of protection against the harsh blizzard that raged on from the outside was ethereal and intoxicating to gaze at.

He then looked down, settling his eyes on what was undoubtedly Capella's residence. It was large, stretching just as far as Roswaal's Mansion. The exterior had a rough mixture of black and red, as well as pointed towers at the top, giving it a gothic appearance.

He slowly floated down, settling his feet against the ground, when—

—A sharp knife was pressed against his neck.

"You will tell me why you're here, where you came from, and why I shouldn't spill your blood across the pavement."

That voice unmistakably belonged to a woman. Subaru couldn't see her, and that's because she had appeared behind him, her shadow mixing with his in the warm light.

"Quite the warm welcome," Subaru said with an amused tone, not threatened whatsoever. The knife, which almost touched his skin, fidgeted ever so slightly.

"You will tell me—!" The woman yelled, before lowering her tone and putting out her rising anger that threatened to overflow. "Mother isn't expecting any visitors, and you don't look like a client with such… attire. Tell me, now!"

"Alright, Alright!" Subaru said as he finally decided to take this conversation seriously. "Ok, give me a bit more space, I want to show you something."

"Do you take me for a fool?"

"Ummm…" Subaru trailed off, his uncertain answer causing her to grit her teeth. He heard her grip on the knife tighten.

With the silence that permeated, Subaru allowed himself to look around. While not immediately visible, he soon realized that dozens of pairs of eyes were trained on him— coming from numerous sources, such as windows, bushes, and shadows— all spread throughout the yard. It could only be assumed that they had all sensed his sudden presence.

Well, that was to be expected of a group of extremely skilled assassins. Subaru wasn't exactly subtle, and he wasn't trying to be. If he wanted, he could slip by undetected, picking off everyone quietly. However, he wasn't the type. He wanted to make things a bit more theatrical.

The woman then shifted her head, as if listening to something. Then, she turned back to him, sighing—

"Alright, show me. Don't waste my time."

With her words, Subaru activated his Authority of Sloth. He created a new ability on the spot, one he nicknamed Hammerspace. In essence, it was a forged pocket dimension that allowed him to store an infinite amount of objects. However, in this case, there was only one "object" within his Hammerspace.

He pulled it down, the meaty sound of flesh hitting the ground and liquid spilling resonated. The woman behind him let out a horrified gasp, followed by several other hidden assassins.

"—No… It can't be. The Sin Archbishop of Gluttony…"

What was splayed out upon the ground was none other than the corpse of Roy Alphard, the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony. His body had long since lost its luster. The only reason it didn't become a victim of nature was because he had stored it within his Hammerspace right before he departed the village.

Nonetheless, their shock was just the distraction he needed. The woman was prepared to slice open his neck, however, Subaru had already used Null Construct, forming a knife that rested against her throat.

"Ghk—!"

Subaru stepped forward and turned around, getting a good look at the individual. She sported dark purple hair, a black dress that was a bit showy in the shoulder and chest area, and a nice pair of purple eyes. However, that isn't what surprised him the most.

What surprised him was her pair of elven ears— thin and long as they stretched from the side of her face. He was shocked, even then, that was short-lived— dissipating within the already tense situation he had found himself in.

"Y-You! You tricked me!"

"It's a dog-eat-dog world. Everyone does what they need to do to survive. You're an assassin, shouldn't you know that?"

With his teasing question, the woman blushed in embarrassment and frustration. Her face was completely red— with it rising all the way to the tips of her ears. His construct was still pressed against her throat, its anti-matter properties ready to split her down to her very atoms.

Subaru then heard numerous hurried footsteps. Every assassin within the vicinity abandoned their hiding places as they charged him. They all wore some type of black clothing— knives and other weapons deeply hidden, yet now bared against him.

With them all converging, Subaru sighed. He manifested a shockwave, pushing all of them away. The more nimble ones remained upright, and those who possessed better long-range combat skills readied their magic.

With all of them casting spells in unison, a bombardment of attacks came raining down on him. The courtyard was completely torn asunder— dirt and stone upheaved as each spell was casted with the intent to purge his very existence.

Each assassin, realizing their attacks hit, breathed out a sigh of relief. However—

"—!"

"Eh? Impossible!"

"No way!"

The billowing smoke was immediately drafted away by a current of wind— courtesy of Aria, his Wind spirit. The smoke completely dissipated, making way for Subaru, who not only seemed to remain completely unharmed, but now sported a "Really?" expression.

The woman in front of him gasped, completely dumbfounded by the sight before her. Not a single strand of hair upon his head was hurt, let alone affected by the breeze. His clothes were intact, and not even the heat bore any soot upon his skin.

It was as if his body had completely ignored the existence of the spells.

"Alright, I'm done. I have an archbishop to kill," He said resolutely. He then snapped his fingers, a cold tension gripping them as they tried to assess what he had possibly done.

Another assassin, attempting to catch him off guard, raised their hand as they chanted a spell, however, nothing bore fruit from that gesture. Subaru caught their gaze, looking at them with a knowing smirk:

"—I froze your gates in time. You won't be able to cast any magic unless I say so."

Effectively, Subaru had completely defanged the group of deadly assassins who had been the constant, overwhelming force within the country.

They all looked at him as if he had grown a second head. They sputtered, trying to question the sheer illogical nature of what he just did. Others tried to chant, however, no matter what they did, they couldn't cast magic whatsoever.

A common ability that all beings shared was now effectively nullified. It was as if they had been deprived of a second sense— an integral limb. This had all been done by the unnatural power of an Authority, however, in Subaru's case— they had been disarmed by a force beyond this world.

Leaving them to their devices, Subaru turned around towards the entrance, and then—

"—Kukuku! You really are an interesting scrap of meat."

A shadow was cast. Subaru looked up, coming face-to-face with a black dragon.

☆ ★ ✮ ★ ☆

Her large, blackened form was gigantic, easily looming over the courtyard as she stared down at them with venomous, gleaming eyes. Her scales shined as she shook her tail, and her tongue flickered, licking her lips with malicious intent.

However, she wasn't the only one present on the rooftop. Right beside her was Lye Batenkios— branding his knives as he prepared to fight.

Subaru smiled. It seemed that they caused so much of a ruckus that Capella and Lye decided to greet him personally. He wanted to enter the boss lair like he would the final level in a videogame, but he digressed.

"—Ah, you are all so taken by my beauty, you can barely even speak or breathe! Now isn't that lovely?"

Capella looked around, taking in the glances of her assassins— mistakenly taking in their eyes filled with fear with that of shocked adoration.

She then looked down at Subaru, before turning to the elf woman behind him.

"Lyra, This lovely lady explained many times that any pesky rodent that worms its way onto my residence is to be eradicated. Do you mind explaining why that hasn't happened?"

"M-Mother, I-I—!" She stuttered, completely overcome by fear. That deadly, commanding presence hit her with tremendous force, causing her to fall onto her knees.

"Ah, I wouldn't worry about that!" Subaru cut into the conversation, "This "Rodent" happens to be ridiculously strong. You don't need to punish her for not completing a task she wasn't capable of doing."

Despite his slightly mocking tone, Subaru truly believed that others should only be held accountable by their ability to complete a task with their current skills and provided resources. A fish couldn't climb a tree, after all.

The woman, now known as Lyra, blushed furiously as her anger surged. She hated being defended by what she considered to be an enemy, however, she also didn't want to face Mother's wrath. So she could only stand there in silence.

"He is right~," Lye said from beside Capella, "He did kill brother, after all, tsu~" This was said with a level of indifference. The siblings cared for each other, however, in this world, death was common. They had all accepted the fact that they'd die one day.

He pointed, and Capella's draconic eyes peered forward, settling onto what was no doubt the corpse of Roy. From what she could make out, the corpse was recent, solidifying her idea that Roy had been killed by the intruder not so long ago.

Roy had recently been sent to purge a village under her orders. It was a punishment against one of her children, who had disobeyed one of her commands in the past. While she had intended to teach a lesson by wiping out the home village of her child, she didn't know that would end up leading to the death of one of the Sin Archbishops.

Capella gritted her teeth, questioning the audacity of the boy before her.

"You disgusting, sniveling, scrap of meat! How dare you!?" Capella yelled, her voice squeaky— a jarring contrast compared to her current form. She looked down upon Subaru with rage.

"How dare I? Did you ever give this amount of consideration to your victims when they asked you the same?" He asked. He didn't expect a reply that would have her switch on the spot and make her regretful— she was way too monstrous. He only said it with the intention of pissing her off.

And thus, it worked. Capella growled, looking at Lye as she spoke:

"Eat his memories. You'll spit him out when he's restrained."

Unlike the other Archbishops, Capella was both smart and cunning. There was no point in exhausting herself personally unless she absolutely had to. Like Subaru, she made efficient use of her closest allies.

Hearing her words, Lye surged forward at a speed even greater than his brother's. This was due to the fact that Lye possessed abilities of even more sufficient quality.

"Let's see what you taste like!" Lye yelled as he surged forward with his sharp teeth glinting in the light.

Subaru didn't meet him with his own attack, neither did he even attempt to dodge. Lye's hand outstretched, murmuring his name— courtesy of one of his victims.

As soon as Lye consumed his memories, he jumped back, watching with a grin as he expected Subaru to fall into a state of unconsciousness, however:

"As that all you got?"

Subaru, who had been standing there completely unharmed, said that.

"—! Gyeh? How did you resist our eating!?" Lye Desperately asked, both confused and trembling with rage. Even Capella flinched, flexing her wings as she prepared to surge at a moment's notice.

"Time Manipulation. I copied a certain person: freezing my body in time so it's unable to be interacted with. It even freezes the soul, so your ability bounced right off."

"I-Impossible!"

Words of denial were traded throughout the courtyard. Everyone was completely filled with dread as they considered the implications of such an ability. Some wanted to run in fear, however, Capella's presence was a great deterrent.

Years of living under her cruel thumb was enough to discourage escape— lest they encourage her wrath.

As they continued, Subaru looked at Lye— the archbishop ready to pounce at him once more.

"Alright, I'm done. Die."

Those words were said with a level of casualness— as if he were simply describing the weather. Everyone tensed as a weird pressure emanated throughout the courtyard. It was only till they looked at Lye did they understand what happened.

The archbishop's eyes rolled into the back of his head, his limbs going limp as he slowly tipped forward. His body hit the ground face first with an audible thump. For a few seconds, everyone was silent, before a shrill cry came from a certain female assassin.

Taking her chances, she sent all the energy in her body straight towards her legs, bursting forward at a speed approaching the speed of sound. It was a speed that only a skilled warrior could achieve.

She leapt over the courtyard's gates before making her way towards the forest beyond, not even stopping to consider how she would fair in the desolate landscape beyond the protection the Hallowed Land provided.

Capella stood with eyes that displayed her utter shock at Lye's sudden death. She blinked, before her body moved with a quick urgency she hadn't felt in forever. She turned towards the female assassin, before a sudden heat pooled deep within her neck.

She opened her mouth, and soon afterward, a devastating wave of purple fire leapt forward, burning through the air and shooting straight at the assassin. The woman didn't even get to scream as her body, alongside the surrounding landscape, was immediately vaporized— turned to ash.

"No one. Leaves. Mama," Capella said, her voice carrying a melavolent, sadistic tone.

Everyone audibly gulped, with most abandoning all their hope of following after her. Such a display of utter cruelty caused Subaru to knit his brows.

"You asshole! You're even willing to kill your own subordinates?"

Capella's disregard for her own subordinates was near rage-inducing. As someone who had been tossed aside by his own comrades, it was enough to shatter the composure he had been keeping in.

"Ah, of course!" Capella affirmed, finding his anger delightful in her own twisted way. "The minute I decide they're my property, they'll serve this lovely lady to death. Nothing more, nothing less. They're mine."

That venom— that utter disregard for autonomy. It was perfectly like Capella, the Archbishop of Lust. Then, it was at that moment that Subaru decided what he would do with her.

Capella would come to regret every action she had taken up to this point. Subaru promised it.

He leapt several meters in the air, meeting her head on. Capella quickly raised her palm, blocking the attack that would've sent her tumbling off the building.

"Kya! So fiesty! I'll enjoy breaking you!" She said with a shrill laugh, swiping Subaru away. However, he used one of his Authorities to position himself in the air.

Capella had transformed her tail into the head of a dragon— combining both her front and back to send a vaporizing wave of fire towards him. Despite this, it was an attack meant to incapacitate, not kill. Capella was eager to keep Subaru alive.

He didn't even bother to dodge, using his Spatial Manipulation to phase through it. This drew out a "huh" from Capella, shortly before he manifested a construct, quickly severing her neck with a sword.

Her head fell, smacking against the courtyard with a large wet thump, then came the rest of her body. The assassins below watched as their Mother was quickly killed, solidifying their growing fear even more.

However—

"You piece of rotten meat, how dare you blemish this lovely body!"

The blood that made up her corpse shifted, erecting upward before solidifying. Flesh, bone, and skin formed, rebuilding her from the ground up. And there stood Capella in her true form, her face now twisted in anger.

Subaru looked at her. Indeed, it was that same face that gleefully toyed with him and Crusch over a year ago. His fist tightened. It made him all the more motivated to teach her a lesson.

"You scraps, what are you doing?! Kill him!"

Deep inside, Capella realized that the simple action of killing Natsuki Subaru wouldn't be so easy. After all, he had quickly killed Lye and Roy. She wouldn't take her chances. She called out to her subordinates, training them onto Subaru, however—

A sharp glare was enough to freeze them in their place. None of them dared move— not when those nasty eyes were trained on them— threatening to give them the same fate as Lye.

"You worthless flesh bags! You're punished— all of you!"

Capella didn't bother finishing as she leapt forward with wings— several pairs grown to maximize her speed. She swung her hand— now a hawk's sharp talon, directly at Subaru. He masterfully dodged, slapping her away with so much force her flesh and blood was reduced to mincemeat against the ground.

"—Damn, I expected more of a fight. Unlike Roy and Lye, she has no skill in fighting outside of making use of her authority."

Not that Subaru said it with the intent to be insulting. The same could technically apply for him, however, this was a matter of life and death. Any fighter needed to get a good read on their opponent. An individual needed to pull the right cards to attain victory. In this case, Subaru was willing to make full use of his new abilities to not only win, but achieve his happy ending.

As Capella's corpse slowly shifted back together, Subaru got an idea.

"Wait, my Authority of Greed just came in a while ago. Let's try it."

Now that Subaru thought of it, every time he came across someone, he felt this distinct need deep inside— a festering power trying to feed in an attempt to grow stronger. Seeing as it was a relatively new sensation, it had to be greed.

He activated it as he stared at Capella. A second later, that same feeling returned— however, it didn't feel as if something was invading his body. Now, it felt like something was growing from within, his Authority of Greed quickly analyzing and building upon Capella's Authority of Lust.

He shifted, before grinning.

"Not only did it copy the ability, but it refined it, strengthening its reach and potency."

Subaru's copied variant was five times more powerful than Capella's. Now, not only could he transmutate living beings at a much faster rate, but now he could also transmutate inanimate objects— shaping them to his heart and desire. It had quickly grown to be one of his most powerful abilities.

His glee was interrupted by Capella, however.

"You… you… you—!"

She was now babbling to Subaru incoherently, looking at him with utter rage. She never had this much struggle trying to even touch a singular person. It was an assault on her very pride.

"You've had your fill of dying?" Subaru asked, not expecting her to give up so easily.

For the first time since their fight, Capella grinned.

"—Regret it." He only caught those last two words before she acted.

Capella shifted. This time, Subaru went on guard as she transformed. Her bones and muscles got thicker as they grew in mass. tough dark scales formed as she took the appearance of her dragon form. However, this form was made with the intent for her to stand on her hind legs akin to a humanoid. She grew three large wings, enough to blanket the entire courtyard, and three long heads, each one moving and thinking in perfect synchronization. Her gate multiplied, sucking in a lot of mana.

—This was Capella's true battle form— a transformation that put her at her peak.

Subaru looked at her with disappointment. The appearance reminded him of a certain Kaiju back in the movies he used to watch, but it wasn't enough to curb his dissatisfaction. Nonetheless,

"Phew! And here I thought you'd be bigger…" Subaru said in relief, causing Capella to stagger.

Not wanting to take in his words due to pure denial, she focused her breath, sending three focused beams of heat from three of her heads at once. This was her most powerful attack, as it quickly heated up the air, temporarily changing the warm climate that was provided by the Hallowed Land.

It was a breath that could take out an entire mountain, and it was directed at Subaru.

"What a bore."

He surged forward, easily cutting through the attack with a manifested blade. He was tired, so now it was time to end this quickly.

Before Capella could react, He sent a devastating shockwave born from his Spatial Manipulation, reducing Capella's strongest form to red mist.

He then used his Authority again, locking her in place, down into her cells, so she was unable to regenerate. Subaru had used Sage Sovereignty earlier to determine the correct path of killing Capella, and it turned out that while she could regenerate from anything, that was only within a specific timeframe.

If she failed to reform herself within a certain period after a fatal attack, she would succumb to it, killing her permanently.

That was the reason behind his current action. He used Spatial manipulation to make sure she was incapable of moving, even down to a cellular level. He then waited out the time.

That familiar thrumming deep inside was enough to let him know that he had won. He smiled, feeling as his Authorities grew stronger, along with new ones. There was even a feeling that shocked him. Alongside Lust, he felt another witch factor burrow its way into his soul.

The Witch Factor of Pride.

"But how? As far as I'm concerned, there is no Archbishop of Pride, and Capella couldn't be using two Authorities."

The remaining archbishops made their debut within the City of Priestella, and from what Subaru had read of this world's history, the latest "Archbishop of Pride" died nearly decades ago. So how did he manifest it?

He would think about it later. There was more he needed to check up on.

His Authority of Lust, Gluttony, and Wrath manifested, alongside the new Pride.

His Authority of Lust shaped into the ability to allow himself to freely assign archetypes to both himself and others. These Archetypes granted skills, powers, and other esoteric abilities associated with the archetype. For instance, he'd technically become the world's greatest swordsman if he assigned himself as such, even gaining the ability to cut anything— an Archetype clearly based on his consumption of certain light novels.

For Wrath, it was relatively simple. It was Soul manipulation, allowing himself to destroy, recreate, and gain ownership over souls to his heart's content. There was more. He could even siphon life force and mana from other people, giving himself a finite mana resource.

For Gluttony, he had gained the ability to absorb and redirect attacks through a Black Hole and White Hole— each manifesting on the desired palm. Not only could he absorb anything considered an attack into a pocket dimension, but he could break down the abilities, converting them into energy or mana. At its strongest, it could even pull things from far away and even break down matter.

There was even a secondary ability. He could create shadow copies of anyone he gazed upon, netting a clone much stronger than the original. This ability netted an even stronger clone when applied to people he personally killed.

Then, there was Pride, an ability that he now considered to be his strongest.

It was simple, yet utterly limitless in its scope. He could Reality Warp, but on the condition that it was only one person or object at a time— so the scope couldn't allow him to reshape the entire world, however, that wasn't enough to distract from its benefits. As long as he focused on one thing at a time, he could reality warp to his heart's content, pretty much giving himself selective omnipotence.

It was extremely absurd— broken in ways that not even Subaru expected an authority to have. However, that was an additional mystery that made him motivated to unravel the truth of his standing within this world.

Taking in a breath, Subaru looked behind him. Every assassin was frozen in utter disbelief, with some stuttering as they looked at Capella. A minute went by, with nothing coming out of the pile of blood. They expected to be greeted with Capella's malevolent grin, but nothing came. The sudden revelation of her death was yet to kick in.

For Subaru, he looked down at the blood, before a small smile crept up upon his face.

"It's time for her punishment."

Thus, Subaru decided that Capella would pay for her crimes.

[Author's Notes:]

Got bored, so here are Subaru's Authorities. They're meant to be extremely broken due to an unrevealed reason, plus, we're all in this place for some power fantasy slop anyway, right?

ENVY

Return by Death- Allows Subaru to return to a preset point in time upon his death. It updates after a specific time, however, the reason why is unknown. After the acquisition of newer Authorities, alongside the strengthening of them, Return by Death comes with a new ability. After every death, he grows two times stronger than his past self— with his mental, physical, and spiritual abilities improving. This also strengthens his Authorities as such, allowing for unlimited power accumulation.

Sage Sovereignty- This ability allows Subaru to gaze into the past, present, and future of any timeline he desires. However, his view is only restricted to his perspective, so he can't see things from third person omniscience. However, he can avoid this by instead targeting his ability at a specific object or person, allowing him to see through their perspective.

He can also choose to mirror an alternate version of himself, taking on their appearance and abilities. He can also do so for others– completely rewriting them to fit a version of themselves that exists in another timeline.

Augur- Allows Subaru the ability to control the aspect of time. He can stop, reverse, and accelerate any object or person he targets. He can even control time on a wider scope, however, there is a limited radius.

Absolute Oblivion- This ability is simple. Subaru can control the aspects of life and death, allowing himself to kill and resurrect anyone. This ability can be controlled in its potency. It can also selectively eradicate the soul, preventing any sort of resurrection, or even rebuild it and reverse Od Lagna's soul recycling process.

SLOTH

Mandate of Heaven- This ability allows Subaru a large control over Space. He can distort and manipulate the concept of space to his heart's content. However, the potency of this ability is reliant on the size and distance of the existence he is trying to manipulate.

Void Construct- This ability allows Subaru to manifest up to 1000 constructs. These constructs are created from pure void, and take any shape and size he imagines. These constructs are also selectively corrosive, being extremely destructive against magic, matter, and life force.

GREED

Sum of All Things- This ability allows Subaru to copy anything he defines as a skill and ability, and allows himself to create a duplicate that's several times more powerful and refined than the original. He can distribute these copies to others. He can even combine copies, creating newer abilities.

GLUTTONY

Blight and Blessing- Allows Subaru to absorb any attack by summoning a small black hole upon his desired palm. Anything perceived as a threat to the user is absorbed, capable of being indefinitely stored within a pocket dimension. He can then use the absorbed attack by manifesting a white hole upon his desired palm, allowing him to redirect it with a force several times more powerful and potent. Stored attacks can be absorbed for energy and mana, or even broken down into nothing.

Shadow Revenant- Subaru is capable of creating a shadow duplicate of anyone he gazed upon, making a clone that's considerably stronger than the original, now loyal to him. The strength is intensified upon targets he kills. These shadows are stored in the user's own, manifesting and obeying the user's every command. If a shadow is destroyed, it takes several hours for it to re-manifest.

These clones are capable of teleporting via shadow, and can become intangible at will. They even possess semi-sentience, capable of finding their own ways to solve a task.

LUST

1000 Faces- This ability allows Subaru to assign an archetype to both himself and others, gaining the skills, powers, and abilities of that archetype. For example, assigning the "Mage" archetype, will give the user access to the 6 elements, along with a vastly larger mana pool, with the intelligence of a master spellcaster to match.

This archetype could be applied to others via physical contact, however, it isn't needed to rid the target of the archetype.

WRATH

Soul Eclipse- Allows Subaru the ability to manipulate the soul of both himself and others. He can siphon, distort, break, and even strip a vessel of its soul, storing it within his own. He can even place souls in other people and objects. This ability can also be used to siphon life force and mana, capable of extending lifespans and growing mana pools.

PRIDE

Absolute Dominion- Allows Subaru selective reality warping. He can only manipulate what he directly focuses on, meaning he can't reality warp large areas of people or places. Whatever he manipulates falls under his own rules. He can effectively edit reality around that person— transforming them or making them as if they've never existed.

[Author's Note:]

So there we have it! Some of these Authorities are based on other Fanfics, such as the Authority of Lust, from Re:Zoan by KingVessel. Others are based on other series, with the most obvious being Shadow Revenant.

(Some names are subject to change. Open to suggestions.)

Subaru is this powerful because honestly he deserves it after being a punching bag for too long. Now that the hard work is almost over, it's time for Subaru to go C̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ kill Satella!
