Chapter 1 - Transmigration

Aaron opened his eyes, a little confused, as the surroundings around him had changed and it looked like he was sitting inside an old room.

Just at that moment, he felt a terrible headache. It was so painful that he didn't have the energy to even shout, and he fell to the ground, gasping for breath.

The scene lasted for five minutes, and when he opened his eyes again, Aaron's eyes were full of confusion. Only a few seconds later did he regain clarity.

Aaron sat on the bed with a weird expression on his face. He couldn't help but say to himself, "I transmigrated!"

Then he said to himself, "I remember that I was playing games while eating peanuts. But I choked and died. Then, when I woke up, I opened my eyes here in this room."

After saying this, his expression became complicated. After all, who would have thought that a person could die while eating peanuts?

As Aaron was an orphan in his previous life, he had no worries after his death. What troubled him was the fact that he had transmigrated into a world full of dangers. Of course, in this world, one could also gain extraordinary power after reaching the age of fifteen, as everyone was given a chance to awaken their powers.

The owner of the current body was also named Aaron. He had become an orphan after his parents were killed during the beast tide last year.

At the same time, due to his thin appearance, he was often bullied in the Adventurer Academy. This was the place where individuals could enroll at the age of ten to learn the basic knowledge about monsters. Naturally, it also included a training ground where one could practice fundamental skills, such as wielding swords, handling daggers, or mastering ranged weapons.

Aaron was challenged to a fight by Alden Wilder, the son of a Tier 2 Warrior renowned for his sword-wielding skills.

During the unarmed combat, Alden punched Aaron's temple. At the academy, Aaron felt dizzy, and when he returned home, the predecessor died due to internal bleeding.

Aaron took a deep breath and began to sort through any remaining information. From his memories, he discovered that he had a good relationship with a girl named Alice. Both of them used to spar together. It could be said that his predecessor also had feelings for this girl, but due to her extraordinary background, he didn't dare to confess his feelings.

After sorting through the memories, he sighed and realized that today was the awakening day. In fact, once a person reached the age of fifteen, their body could handle the energy required for awakening. So today was a special day for Aaron and many others his age. It would be the day where he could rise like a comet, or the day he might awaken a life profession like a farmer and spend his days farming.

Although he was excited, he still took his time to go to the bathroom. He took a dump, then a cool bath that left him feeling refreshed. After wiping his body, he looked into the mirror, and froze for a few seconds.

In the mirror stood a young boy, his body slim and delicate. His silver hair, catching the glow of the room, while his deep black eyes stared back.

Looking at the unfamiliar face, Aaron froze. He couldn't help but mutter to himself, "F*ck… is this me? No wonder Alice used to talk to the previous owner of the body."

His current body was slim, and with his fair appearance, even girls couldn't help but blush.

Then he opened the towel and looked at his second brother with a satisfied expression on his face. After that, he began to dress, wearing a white shirt and brown pants. Once dressed, he quickly went to the kitchen, where he removed a loose brick to reveal a hidden spot. Inside was the money his parents had left for him.

In this world, various types of currency existed, but the most common were gold, silver, and copper coins. One gold coin was equal to 100 silver coins, and one silver coin was equal to 100 copper coins.

Aaron looked at the pouch and found that there were 4 gold coins, 40 silver coins, and 60 copper coins left.

In fact, if Aaron wanted to live an ordinary life, this amount was enough to sustain him for a year, with three meals a day, even including meat.

But Aaron obviously didn't want to live that kind of life. So he didn't spend the money, choosing instead to save it for after the Awakening ceremony.

He quickly took out 10 copper coins, just enough to buy himself a good meal for one time.

He planned to celebrate after the Awakening ceremony.

Then he hurried out of the house, heading straight toward the Adventurer Academy.

Along the way, he noticed the well-made roads, no different from those in his previous life. What amazed him even more was that, despite the world resembling the seventeenth century, the roads were clean and had a proper drainage system. They were wide, too, and he saw horses twice as tall as those in his previous world, pulling a massive carriage filled with thirty people.

As he continued, he passed vendors selling vegetables, meat from animals he had never seen before, and fruits that were common in this world.

There were also some people who had set up stalls, selling food. Colorful trees and flowers were planted along the road, filling the air with fragrance. Vibrant birds flew overhead, some of them making beautiful sounds.

The morning sunlight was warm. Up ahead, he could see a large building, the Adventurer Academy. The name was written in the strange script of this world, yet somehow, he could read it with ease.

The academy gates stood wide open. Children dressed in luxurious clothes walked into the building. Today, everyone looked their best for the Awakening ceremony.

At the gate of the Adventurer Academy, he heard someone call out his name.

"Aaron! Are you still alive?"
