Chapter 261 - Chapter 261: Arrival

Before long.

Sol stepped outside, and the first thing he saw was that sharply contoured black official car—and the intellectual beauty with pink hair.

A black hip-hugging skirt wrapped around her perfectly shaped long legs, and beneath her thin white blouse her figure was breathtaking. A bright, welcoming smile rested on her face.

Sol, in great spirits, lifted a hand in greeting and smiled. "Good morning, Miss Yanagi."

He had already spoken with Miyabi yesterday and confirmed the previously discussed training session.

"Good morning." Yanagi opened the front passenger door and smiled gently. "I didn't wait long at all. To step away from that towering mountain of documents and come pick you up… it honestly feels like a delightful little break."

Though she always worked diligently—essentially the backbone of Section 6's paperwork, rarely making mistakes—

Humans weren't machines; a little mental rest was necessary.

"That really sounds hard."

Sol took the passenger seat, speaking with some sympathy.

He recalled touring their office yesterday—Yanagi's desk was absolutely buried under paperwork.

Then there was Miyabi, who spent all day contemplating swordsmanship; her desk had a thick stack of real-cultivation-style leave requests. And Soukaku's desk… covered in children's literacy books.

With this lineup of problem children, it was obvious who carried Section 6.

"It's not hardship. It's fulfillment."

Yanagi corrected him with a smile, then said seriously, "Being with Section Chief Miyabi and the others feels like being with family. Taking care of them brings a special sense of satisfaction."

"Even if everyone has their own little quirks, they're all very cute."

As she spoke, she walked around to the driver's side, got in, and stepped on the accelerator, heading toward the Hollow Special Operations Section 6 building.

"Hm?" Sol's expression twisted intriguingly as he said, "That sounded like deep motherly affection—the kind that makes people trust you instantly."

"Calling a girl old… even I would mind that, you know."

Yanagi blinked, answering with elegant wit.

Motherly affection? No, that was too exaggerated.

She thought of herself as more of an older sister at best.

"My mistake. Yanagi is absolutely not old—she's a beautiful young lady, bright and charming."

Sol switched tone fluently, offering the compliment without hesitation.

"Thank you. Though you don't need to praise me that much."

Yanagi narrowed her eyes slightly, her smile glowing even warmer.

She could hear the teasing in his tone, but the praise itself was sincere. And while mouths can lie, eyes generally don't.

She was genuinely happy.

Her lips curved as she said casually, "Actually, Section Chief Miyabi has an important meeting today—regarding Justin Bringer. The higher-ups are taking it very seriously and want her to participate in the full discussion."

"Is that so? Then why did she arrange to meet me today?"

Sol found it odd. He guessed, "Is the meeting in the afternoon? She'll go after training?"

"Not exactly." Yanagi shook her head, looking slightly troubled. "Miyabi very stubbornly refused the meeting—she insisted on training with you first before anything else. Because of that, I actually got a bit of free time too. I don't have to prepare meeting materials anymore."

"That really does fit her personality." Sol thought of the fox-eared girl who held the demon blade in a death grip. "For someone who values training that much, she truly wouldn't let mundane matters interfere."

"Actually… she values it even more than you imagine."

Yanagi eased off the accelerator, pulling up beneath the Section 6 building.

She pointed toward the entrance and smiled. "Look—Miyabi is already waiting."

A figure with upright fox ears stood silently at the door, paying no attention to the people walking past, fully focused as she awaited Sol's arrival.
