Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Guilt and Forgiveness

Eliot walked in the huge house where he had spent most of his teenage days. He went upstairs calling Ms. Victoria. Hearing her name Sean came out of his room to find who was making so much noise. The house was full of dust and things were falling apart. Sean was surprised to see Eliot in that place. Sean thought he was hallucinating but Eliot was in front of him. He had not eaten in days. After his mother had died he gave up on everything. His mother was the last person he had for surviving after Eliot left. He felt the guilt, but his mother was the only one with him after both Eliot and his father left. And now he lost both his Mother and Father to death and as for Eliot after all he said to him, how could he face him again. After seeing Eliot, whether he was a hallucination or actually there didn't make much difference to Sean; he felt too ashamed to say anything. He quickly turned around and walked away from Eliot. Eliot was shocked at the sight of Sean; the always cheerful boy who never stopped smiling was now gloomy and sad. Eliot ran after Sean but Sean went in his room. He locked the door and sat behind it. He felt bad for the unkind words he had said to Eliot and without him knowing tears started rolling down his eyes. Eliot was standing outside the door, begging him to open it, and Sean was so tired and weak he couldn't hold on any longer so he let Eliot in. Eliot walked in and helped Sean up and they both sat down in the hall room. Sean could not muster up the courage to look at Eliot. It had been a few months since the last met, and Sean looked so weak and fragile and he kept apologizing for the harsh words he said to Eliot. He felt bad for Sean and he said he had forgiven him long back but on the inside the damage had already been done. He made some food for the both of them and Sean finally ate something. Sean ate till he could not move, Eliot asked him about Ms. Victoria and how he had been doing since he left. Sean choked on his tears and said he felt like he should have just stayed at the funeral instead of being moody and saying bad things to Eliot. He said what he felt in these few months. Eliot felt guilty for not knowing what had happened and left him to suffer alone; he made a promise to never leave Sean alone because he is just a dumb but kind person who does not want to be a burden for anyone. Sean and Eliot talked for a while and Eliot told him that he had rented a small apartment and was there to get some stuff. Sean after hearing that felt like he was going to be alone forever and he wanted to be greedy and ask him to stay but he did not say anything because he did not have to; his expression said it for him. Eliot said he will clean the place and after cleaning he will move in. Sean was extremely happy after hearing it and helped Eliot in cleaning the house. After the cleaning was done Eliot went to his apartment and got his stuff and then he moved in and stayed with his only friend. Sean and Eliot talked about what they had experienced in the past few months and while they were talking it turned dark outside and they decided to go out to eat. They went to a restaurant near them and after their dinner they decided to go for a walk.
