Chapter 1 - 1: Snow White

"Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who's the fairest of them all?"

When the mirror responded with a reflection of a woman with pale skin and red luscious lips, a grin was formed on her lips.

However, in contrast on her grinning face, her hands were shaking in anger and clenching tightly.

"There's no way..." she mumbled before eyeing the woman on the mirror with contempt. She huffed in anger before throwing away the old mirror.

After a few seconds, her anger subsided and she casually picked up the mirror, leaving behind a few broken shards. Then, she placed that mirror to where it previously was before she silently watch how the woman with pale skin and red luscious lips stab her own face with the scattered broken shards.

Slowly, a grin began to form again on her lips. She was delighted by the woman's actions and her grin turned into a laughter after the woman on the mirror's reflection, dropped dead.

In the night of tranquility, the loud laughter reverberated as blood began to pool and the beauteousness turned into horrendousness.

"Another horrifying case, Eithe?" Aina's voice broke the silence that engulfed in their agency.

Everyone was tense, as it was the fourth time in a week that they received the same kind of case. If it was an ordinary one, then they wouldn't be. But it isn't. And the only thing they can conclude was that, a serial killer is running amok.

Eithe sighed and leaned back on her seat. She choose not to reply on her question and just closed her tired eyes. She's been working on this case for days and she couldn't find any clues about the murderer aside from a strange mirror in every crime scene.

Beside her was Raine, who was busy with her own case and Jaime who was drinking his 3rd cup of coffee just for today. The other detectives aside from the four of them were busy wandering around the city.

Jaime, Eithe's partner on this case began checking every pictures that they got this morning. In every angle, he could only see the expression of fear and hopelessness of the victim, the bloodied scene, the mirror in front of the victim and the scattered mirror shards that bath in blood.

Aside from that, everything was completely normal. Just a normal room for a noble lady with luxury and extravagance.

And this is very similar to the previous case that they encountered. Normal room, messy crime scene, mirror shards, and the main target of the culprit is frequently a gorgeous woman that possess a well maintained skin, perfectly symmetrical face and a voluptuous body.

The targets range from commoners to nobles and until now, they still had no lead to whoever this culprit is. Despite the messy crime scene, it was surprisingly that the killer leaves no trace that can be used to track his/her identity.

"I'll return back to the crime scene." Eithe stands up out of nowhere and exited the room. The body was already properly taken care of, but she know she have to check the crime scene again. She felt like she missed something, and it was completely bothering her.

So despite her tired and stressed body, she pushed herself to visit the Viscount's mansion and when she arrive, a familiar stature greeted her sight.

A frown was formed on her face as a man in black coat was casually strolling in the crime scene. His hands was in his pockets as he checks every corner of the room.

That man was no other than Seviel. Her rival in their agency. And that was because—

"Oh, you're here?" he greeted with a smug look on his face. "You looks so haggard, have you forgotten how to comb your hair?" he smirked and added, "Now, I'm wondering why they called you as my rival. Look at you, your ability is a hectare away from me. You can't even solve this easy case." he sneered and patted her shoulder before passing beside her.

Her face crumpled in annoyance and she gritted her teeth. She couldn't handle that guy's boastfulness. He was so full of himself! And what's worse is that, he had the talent and wits to boost that.

"Detective?" a voice called out her attention and when she shifted her head, she saw a boy in his pajamas and carrying a worn out doll. His hair was slightly ruffled and his eyes were bloodshot and a tear stained on his cheeks.

"Hmm?" she responded in a soft voice. Instantly, her annoyance melted after seeing a cute kid.

"My sister... She's going to return right?" he asked with hopeful eyes.

She froze. If she tell him that she wasn't, then he might bawl in front of her and she can't let that happen. But if she lie, then he might expect for nothing.

So, she firmed her resolve and crouched down to his eye level before replying.

"I'm sorry..." that's all she could say and she saw how his hopeful face was painted with sadness.

"Mother and Father said that my sister was already in a better place... But this place is much better! She had everything she want! She had a beautiful room, pretty dresses a collection of jewelries, perfumes and shoes and also I'm here! I'm sure she won't be happy without me beside her! And so am I! I don't wanna be alone!" he cried and she couldn't move.

Although cute things melt her heart, she knew herself that even though children are cuties, she can't handle them by herself. Especially a crying child.

"I... I'm sure your sister will watch you everytime so that you won't feel lonely." she muttered with pity on her face.

"No! I want her beside me!"

"But she won't be able to..." she said almost a whisper but it was heard by the child. And his next word baffled her completely.

"Yes she is!" he insisted. "Because... Because she wasn't dead! I saw her! I saw her exited the house at dawn!" he exclaimed.
