Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 – Black Sky

The walls hummed like they were holding in a scream.

Kodi sat on the floor of his prison cell—thin, broken, bruised. His knuckles raw from rewiring a forgotten panel no bigger than a paperback. It was supposed to only control plumbing.

But Kodi? He'd rerouted it.

He'd rerouted everything.

The panel's screen flickered, the text old-school terminal green:

SAT-LINK INTERFACE FOUNDROOT KEYS ACCEPTEDLEGACY GATEWAY: EDEN-SUBROUTINE ACTIVE

Kodi closed his eyes.

He didn't need nuclear launch codes.

He didn't want to kill people.

He wanted to kill control.

Flashback – Age 13

A younger Kodi, bundled in his grandma's oversized jacket, sat staring at the stars with a secondhand telescope.

"You know how many of those dots are spy satellites?" he asked her.

She laughed.

"Boy, you read too many of those hacking magazines."

"I'm serious. They're not just stars. They're watching us."

Now – Present Day

"They watched me rise," Kodi muttered. "They watched me fall. So now they can watch nothing."

The cursor blinked.

Waiting.

Kodi typed in one line.

A final command.

>> INITIATE SKYFALL.PROTOCOL

The terminal hesitated. A warning flashed:

This action is irreversible.Global comms, GPS, military systems will be compromised. Are you sure?

Kodi smirked.

"I'm always sure."

He hit ENTER.

Cut to: Global Feed Collapse

In seconds:

GPS systems flatlined.

Military drones dropped mid-air.

Missiles in midflight became dumb metal.

Bank servers went dark.

Stock markets froze, then bled red.

Every streaming service died in silence.

Then—

The sky turned black.

Dozens of satellites exploded in synchronized bursts, chain-reacting like fireworks in reverse.

The digital world collapsed in real time.

No internet.No control.No watchers.

Just silence.

Kodi – Alone in His Cell

Sirens blared. The prison shook. Lights flickered and died.

But inside that cold steel box, Kodi sat calm.

He hadn't destroyed the world.

He'd just... unplugged it.

Somewhere, NullSyntax screamed at a blank terminal.

Marek's phone went dead in his hand.

The Rothschild base went blind.

Kodi leaned back.

"I built the sky.I took it back."

And then, for the first time since childhood, he slept.
