Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"All right, today's Hero Fundamentals class will be supervised by me, All Might, and two other teachers."

"What kind of training is it?"

"Rescue operations during natural disasters—floods, fires, and other emergencies."

The class erupted into excited chatter.

"All right, quiet down! You can choose your own costumes today based on what you think is suitable—some of them are for special events only. We'll take a bus to the training site. Begin preparations."

Before getting on, Iida organized everyone into perfect lines—only to realize the bus was a standard one, making his efforts pointless.

On the ride, Gin Kameshou checked her messages. Sure enough, both Phoenix and Shield had replied:

"That drink had a powerful sedative—enough to knock someone out for three days. Minimal side effects. Not sure why it was used."

"There's no record of anyone named Shimura Tenko at U.A. Give me more time to broaden the search."

Nothing meaningful. Was it fate ending?

Suddenly, Asui spoke, "Midoriya, your quirk seems really similar to All Might's."

"W-what? Really? I mean…" Midoriya stammered.

"Wait, All Might doesn't get injured. So maybe not," Kirishima laughed. "But enhancement quirks are flashy. My hardening is strong, but kinda plain."

"I think it's cool! Very practical for pros," Midoriya replied, eyes shining.

"But heroes also need popularity. Flashy and powerful—like Todoroki, Bakugou, and Gin."

"Bakugou's temper won't win fans," Asui said bluntly.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"

"You're totally right," Gin added with a smirk.

"See?" she teased.

"You've known me for what, a day? How'd you already know I've got the personality of gutter-boiled dog poop?"

"What kind of vocabulary is that?! I'll kill you!"

"Bakugou got bullied?" Midoriya looked shocked.

Suddenly, space-hero Thirteen greeted them, "We've been waiting. Let's begin!"

Gin was impressed by the scale of the U.S.J. training facility.

Aizawa asked about All Might. Thirteen raised three fingers and whispered something. Aizawa sighed and handed the floor to Thirteen for a speech about quirk responsibility, which earned applause.

"Wait…" Gin's eyes narrowed. She pulled out a Coin #6. "Everyone, get ready. We've got enemies."

Before Aizawa could speak, a vortex opened below and villains poured out.

"It's fate," Gin murmured, spotting Tomura Shigaraki.

"Gather up, stay calm. Thirteen, protect the students," Aizawa ordered.

From the far side, Shigaraki locked eyes on Gin.

"You didn't drink it, huh?" he said, disappointed. "Just trust me a little... Come to me, Gin."

He held his arms out. "Come here, Silver."

"Is this the guy from yesterday?" someone asked.

"Yeah. That's him," Gin replied coolly.

Aizawa stepped in, "Whatever your motives, stay away from my students."

"Ahh, so cool—professional heroes," Shigaraki sneered. "But for how long?"

Todoroki analyzed quickly: "The alarms didn't go off. This must be a targeted interference quirk. This is a planned ambush."

Gin narrowed her eyes. The thugs were mostly weak distractions. The real threat was the brain-exposed giant.

"You're not just here to kill a few kids… Is your target All Might?"

Shigaraki clapped. "Bingo! As sharp as ever, Silver."

"We don't even know each other," she glared. "Stop acting close."

"You used to want me to call you that," he muttered. "How about Yawata-gi-san, then?"

"My name is Kameshou. Who the hell is Yawata-gi?"

"Forget it. Let's skip the drama. Come here—"

A portal opened beside her. Shigaraki's hand reached out.

"Watch out!" Aizawa and Midoriya shouted, diving toward her.

Gin dodged calmly and smirked. "So the foggy guy's the teleport user."

She cracked her knuckles. "Even a lion uses full force to hunt a rabbit—let alone an elephant."

Silver liquid metal spread across the plaza, binding most enemies into chains. Her quirk had leveled up.

"Incredible… all with one move…"

"This is the true form of her 'Silver World'."

Aizawa frowned. She'd used her quirk without permission—but had saved them all. He'd deal with that later.

"I want a word," Gin said, stepping toward Shigaraki.

"Don't go, Gin—" Aizawa tried to stop her, only for her to flick a knife past his cheek with a smile. "Don't interrupt, sensei."

"Thirteen, stop her!"

"But I can't use my quirk on students!"

Gin triggered her earring, forming a metal net to block the teachers.

"Sorry, but I need answers. You're free to call for help."

Shigaraki countered, "Unfortunately, I won't let that happen."

Kurogiri blocked the exit. Gin hoped Class A could at least get Iida out for reinforcements.

"Die already!" Bakugou and Kirishima attacked.

Gin sighed. "So reckless."

She withdrew her metal restraints from the teachers and pinned Kurogiri down with chains, asking Uraraka to float him. Her brutal efficiency stunned everyone.

Aizawa watched with growing suspicion. Strong instincts. Surgical strikes. Ruthless methods. Mercenary mindset. She wasn't just a gifted student.

She was likely a top-tier child mercenary.

But what was her mission?

He mentally added her to the threat list.

"Oh no, they caught the door," Shigaraki muttered. "Nomu, go get it."

The chained Nomu instantly snapped free and leapt to their level in one bound.

Gin dropped her efforts below and redirected everything to intercept. Her blade slashed Nomu's shoulder as her metal accessories turned to chains. Aizawa erased its quirk just in time.

"Smash!"

Midoriya's punch collided with Nomu's, causing a shockwave that forced even Todoroki and Bakugou to retreat.

Uraraka had accidentally dropped Kurogiri from the air.

"Seriously?" Shigaraki said. "This thing was built to fight All Might, and two students held it off?"

Gin's chains had all snapped except one large one. Her knife had disabled Nomu's right arm, but it wasn't enough.

Nomu still overpowered her—despite Aizawa's cancellation, Midoriya's punch, and her own sabotage.

Gin shook from the force but fought on. She slashed again and severed Nomu's right hand. Then she dragged a dazed Midoriya away by his collar.

Midoriya was stunned—his full-force punch had done nothing to Nomu.

Even the severed hand was undamaged.
