Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : Kissing in the car

Luo Feng's path was finally clear.

Thanks to Ye Yu's timely guidance, he would sign with the Dojo of Limits not as an ordinary trainee, but as a special recruit with privileges that most warriors could only dream of.

He'd bypass the standard Level 1 contract that most newcomers received, a deal that often bound them tightly with minimal compensation.

Instead, Luo Feng would enjoy double the standard benefits: a massive 200 million yuan quota to purchase elite combat manuals, specialized weapons, and training resources; and 100 million yuan in discretionary funds, to be used however he saw fit.

And that wasn't all.

Starting tomorrow, Luo Feng would be moving into the Mingyue Community a luxurious, heavily guarded residential district where even mid-tier Wargods found it hard to buy property.

Compared to the cramped rental apartment he'd shared with his family, this was a new world.

Grinning from ear to ear, Luo Feng clapped Ye Yu on the shoulder. "Brother Ye, I owe you one! Dinner's on me—after tomorrow's signing!"

Ye Yu waved him off casually, lips curving into a relaxed smirk. "Don't thank me—your talent earned this, not my words.

I just gave you a nudge."

Luo Feng's eyes gleamed with gratitude, but he knew Ye Yu was downplaying it. Without Ye Yu, he might've ended up locked in a mediocre deal—one that could've stalled his rise as a fighter in the brutal world outside the city walls.

With a final nod, Luo Feng and his best friend Wei Wen departed, leaving Ye Yu alone with two striking figures:

Liu Ting, the cold but dangerous ex-SWAT elite turned warrior, and Xu Xin, the elegant beauty known in financial circles as the Ice Queen of Jiangnan Investment.

-

The sleek black sports car glided down the highway like a predator on the hunt, its engine purring low and smooth.

The tinted windows hid the mischief inside—mischief that could ignite cities, if anyone important ever found out.

In the backseat, Liu Ting lounged with casual grace, her silk stockings gleaming under the ambient lights, legs crossed in quiet confidence.

Ye Yu's hand rested possessively on her thigh, his fingers idly tracing the curves of her body without urgency.

"Second Sister left yesterday," Ye Yu mused, referring to Jiang Fang, also known as the Moon Witch, a terrifying figure in the upper ranks of the Dojo of Limits.

She had taken a special interest in Luo Feng, recognizing his potential as a dual-blade cultivator.

With Jiang Fang gone, things would be quieter for now.

"Why don't you two come over tonight?" Ye Yu asked, voice smooth.

Liu Ting raised a brow but wasted no time. She slid onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, her lips brushing against his ear. "Took you long enough to ask," she whispered, breath warm against his skin.

Xu Xin, who was driving, watched through the rearview mirror, her red lips curling into an amused smirk.

But her knuckles tightened slightly on the steering wheel.

Then....

SCREECH!

The car fishtailed violently as Xu Xin slammed the brakes, sending Ye Yu lurching forward and Liu Ting tumbling off his lap.

She caught herself just in time, cursing under her breath.

"Xu Xin!" Liu Ting growled, shooting daggers at the grinning driver.

Xu Xin blinked innocently. "Oops.

My foot slipped."

Ye Yu chuckled and pulled Liu Ting back upright. "Don't worry," he said with a mischievous smile. "I'll get revenge for you."

Before Xu Xin could react, Ye Yu lunged forward, snatching her from the driver's seat and dragging her into the back.

"W-Wait—!" she protested, struggling slightly, but Ye Yu's grin widened as he slipped into the driver's seat and floored the accelerator.

The car roared forward like a beast unleashed, weaving between lanes with surgical precision.

"Ye Yu! Slow down!" Xu Xin gasped, her hands gripping the dashboard, breath coming faster.

"Why?" he smirked, one arm wrapped around her waist. "Even if we crash… I'll protect you."

"You're insane!" Liu Ting snapped from beside them, barely recovering from the earlier jolt.

Ye Yu just laughed. "I'm a man of my word."

Just as the car veered off a main overpass, a shrieking screech tore through the heavens so loud it seemed to split the sky in half.

SCREEEEECH—!

They all looked up as a terrifying shadow eclipsed the sun.

It was a Black-Crowned Golden Eagle—a mutated emperor-class monster, its wings spanning over forty meters, diving at Mach 4 speed.

Even Wargods avoided fighting these beasts alone.

The pressure from its cry shattered the windows of nearby buildings, glass raining like crystal rain.

Civilians collapsed, bleeding from the ears, while cars skidded into one another in chaos.

"You dare?!"

A booming voice echoed like thunder.

A man clad in radiant red-and-blue combat armor rocketed into the sky ...one of the Dojo of Limits' top fighters.

His aura flared, forming a protective barrier across the district.

With a gleaming blade in hand, he intercepted the eagle mid-air.

BOOM!

A shockwave blasted through the clouds.

SLASH!

A single, blinding arc of sword light split the air.

The beast shrieked one final time before plummeting, its lifeless body smashing into a skyscraper and collapsing half the building in an earth-shattering impact.

Silence hung for a moment.

Then—cheers erupted from the scattered crowd.

Xu Xin and Liu Ting stared in awe, lips parted.

"That was…" Xu Xin whispered.

"Incredible," Liu Ting finished.

Ye Yu leaned against the steering wheel, a strange glint in his eyes. "Some things change," he murmured, "and some… stay exactly the same."

The car finally rolled to a halt outside a three-story mansion nestled atop a quiet, scenic hill in the Central Residential District—one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Yangzhou City.

The air here was clean, the stars visible, and the security presence subtle but absolute.

Ye Yu stepped out, scooping up the still-dazed Xu Xin effortlessly in his arms.

"You," he said to Liu Ting, nodding toward the house, "go shower first."

She rolled her eyes but complied, heels clicking as she walked inside.

But as she reached the second floor, she froze.

The room before her was massive—lined with rare beast-hide armor, custom-forged blades, dual-core energy rifles, and even a Level 3 Meteorite suit in development.

Her lips curved into a wicked smirk.

"Looks like tonight's going to be… interesting."

Downstairs, Ye Yu grinned as he looked up toward the second floor.

He didn't need to see her expression. He already knew.
