Chapter 1 - The Reborn Lord’s Path of Vengeance

Harbor City, Blue Bay Residences.

"Ling Ye, I want a divorce."

The voice was cold, distant, slicing through the quiet living room like a blade.

A sharp thud followed as a document was thrown onto the coffee table, the sound jolting Ling Ye from his daze. Slowly, he blinked, his deep-set eyes clouded with confusion, scanning his surroundings.

The place was familiar yet strange, as if torn out of an old, half-forgotten memory. And then his gaze landed on her.

Sophia.

She stood tall and radiant, her figure draped in a pale-blue designer dress that hugged every curve, her face stunning yet cruel, arrogance gleaming in her eyes.

His pupils shrank. This vile woman… Sophia?!

His gaze fell on the papers—a divorce agreement. The scene snapped into place in his mind. This was before the fusion of Earth with the Battlefield of Myriad Races, the exact moment Sophia had demanded they cut ties forever.

But… hadn't he died?

Images of his final moments flashed through his mind—Ethan, clad in dragon-scale armor, leading the Dragon Legion, trampling his forces into blood-soaked mud. Heroes who had followed him loyally fell one after another, and when the last of his army was crushed, it was Sophia who stood in Ethan's embrace, watching him die with an icy smile.

Her voice back then still echoed like venom in his ears:

"Ling Ye, you were never worthy of me."

"I was a superstar and you were a pathetic orphan."

"Now I'm among the top one hundred Lords, while you're not even in the top ten thousand."

"Ethan is the only man fit to stand beside me."

"Truth is, I knew him long before the Battlefield began…"

He had burned with rage then, desperate to tear the traitorous pair apart. But it was futile. His troops were annihilated, his heroes dead, his territory razed. In the end, his body was trampled into the ground by dragon hooves, leaving nothing but despair and hatred.

Yet now…

"Could I have been reborn?" Ling Ye's heart thundered violently.

Grabbing his phone, he flicked it on.

November 31st, 2333 – 11:58 AM.

His eyes darted to the window. The noon sun was turning blood-red, signaling the moment Earth would be chosen by the cosmic will and merged into the Battlefield of Myriad Races.

He clenched his fists. There was no mistaking it. He had returned to the very day Sophia demanded a divorce—the very day everything had begun.

In this timeline, at noon sharp, every adult between eighteen and sixty would be dragged into that otherworldly realm. They would become Lords, gather resources, train soldiers, recruit heroes, and fight endless wars against countless alien races.

And in his past life, blinded by love, he had begged Sophia to stay. They entered the novice zone together. That was when his nightmare began.

Sophia had used him like a blood bank, draining every resource he acquired, stripping him of weapons, troops, even rare heroes, all to build her strength. He made her the second-ranked Lord of their novice zone, and she repaid him by running into Ethan's arms the moment the zones merged. Every gift he had given her went to his rival.

It wasn't until then that Ling Ye learned the truth—they had plotted this from the very beginning. She used his songs to skyrocket to fame as a pop idol, while Ethan, heir to one of the top dynasties in the American Federation, provided power and wealth. Together, they played him for a fool.

And now, here she was, already preparing to discard him before the fusion even began.

Rage flared in his chest, molten and sharp. He stared straight into her cold eyes and said, voice dripping with venom, "Ethan doesn't mind sloppy seconds, huh? Everything I've touched, he still wants."

Sophia flinched, fear flashing in her heavily made-up eyes before her mask of arrogance returned.

"I have no idea what nonsense you're spouting," she sneered. "The truth is, we're not compatible anymore. I'm a global superstar with over a hundred million fans, and you… You're a nobody. You'll never be worthy of me. Divorce is inevitable."

Footsteps sounded from the hallway. Sarah, Sophia's sister and manager, emerged, a snake in human skin. She was also the one who had introduced Sophia to Ethan in the first place.

"Ling Ye," Sarah said smoothly, feigning pity, "you and my sister are worlds apart. Let her go—it's better for both of you."

Ling Ye laughed, a sound colder than steel. "So that's your excuse for pimping your sister out to Ethan? To help her climb higher?"

Sarah's face twitched, but she pressed on with a sanctimonious tone. "I admit I introduced them. But let's be honest—what could you ever offer her? Ethan has power, money, and influence. Only he is her true soulmate. Real love means knowing when to let go."

She pulled out a bank card and tossed it on the coffee table like trash. "Three million credits. Consider it a breakup fee. Enough to keep you fed for life."

Ling Ye stared at the card and let out a humorless chuckle. Three million for five years of blood, sweat, and sacrifice?

But soon, this world's money would be worthless. When the fusion came, only strength would matter.

Sophia, sensing his silence, tried to push again. "Ling Ye, let's just keep this civil. Sign the papers, and we can still be friends after—"

SMACK!

Her words died as his palm struck her face with brutal force.

"When I stayed up all night writing your songs, where was this 'friendship'?!" SMACK.

"When I starved just to fund your career, where was it then?!" SMACK.

"You want a clean break? Fine—I'll make it permanent!" SMACK.

Three blows left her sprawling on the floor, hair a tangled mess, her nose twisted, her arrogance shattered.

Sarah screamed, lunging toward him. "How dare you hit my sister! I'll call the po—"

A single savage kick cut her off, two teeth flying across the polished tiles.

Last life, these two parasites had drained him dry and left him to die. This time, there would be no mercy.

Ling Ye stepped forward, fists clenched, raining down blow after blow, his fury unrestrained. Their shrieks filled the villa, shrill and desperate.

But before he could finish them off, blood-red light engulfed the room.

Beams descended from the sky, wrapping every chosen adult on Earth.

Ling Ye glared at Sophia and Sarah, both trembling in terror within the same crimson glow. He wiped the blood from his knuckles and spat coldly, "You're lucky. I'll kill you in the Battlefield instead."

A warm, irresistible force pulled him away as the countdown to the merge ended. Across the planet, millions vanished, dragged into a realm where only power decided life or death.

This time, armed with future knowledge and Infinite Golden Traits, Ling Ye would rise above all others, crush his enemies, and make every last betrayer beg for a swift death.
