The next morning.

High atop Yunlan Sect's main mountain, the rising sun cast a warm golden glow over the misty peaks.

In the quiet courtyard of a refined jade pavilion, birds chirped softly, and the faint scent of morning dew lingered in the air.

A gentle knock sounded at the door.

"Ye Chen? You're here so early?" a soft, slightly drowsy voice called from within.

The door creaked open, and Yun Yun stepped out with a yawn she barely managed to suppress.

Her long hair was unbound, cascading over her shoulders like flowing silk, and she wore a pale pink robe loosely tied at the waist, revealing a trace of her fair, delicate neck and collarbone.

A thin mist seemed to follow her as if even nature dared not disturb her grace.

Ye Chen quickly looked away.

But the faint fragrance drifting from her,a unique blend of lotus and wind orchid ,stirred his senses before he could stop himself.

He took a deep breath, his mind briefly fogging over.

Why does she always smell this good...?

Yun Yun turned back, beckoning. "Come in."

He followed her into the room, eyes instinctively lowering as he stepped past her.

He forced himself to sit properly on the edge of a cushion by the tea table, back straight, hands folded tightly.

But inwardly, he cursed.

Damn this Dragon-Elephant Body… ever since I awakened it, my senses have been out of control.

She's my teacher I shouldn't be thinking like this!

Yun Yun, unaware of his inner turmoil, moved gracefully to a small side table. "You haven't had breakfast, have you?"

She picked up a tray covered in a linen cloth and placed it in front of him with a small smile. "Here.

I made these this morning osmanthus cakes. Try one."

"Thank you, Teacher." Ye Chen bowed his head slightly and took one.

The moment the soft pastry touched his tongue, its sweet floral flavor melted in his mouth.

The restlessness in his blood seemed to ease, calming his conflicted heart.

Only then did he dare lift his gaze again.

Yun Yun had seated herself across from him, her robe parting slightly at the chest as she shifted positions revealing a glimpse of jade skin beneath.

Ye Chen's eyes darted away in an instant.

Don't look. Don't look again!

"So," she said casually, pouring a cup of tea, "what brings you here so early?"

He took another bite of the cake, then replied carefully, "Teacher… do you happen to have any spare magic cores?"

Yun Yun blinked. "Magic cores? What for?"

"I want to ask Senior Brother Liu to help me refine some pills," he explained. "I'm missing a few key ingredients."

He was referring to Liu Ling, one of the top alchemists in the sect and a disciple of Pill King Gu He.

Yun Yun nodded thoughtfully. "Wait a moment."

With a flick of her slender fingers, a glimmer of spatial light flashed in the air. Several glowing magic cores appeared in her palm some red, some icy blue, each exuding a different elemental aura.

She placed them gently on the table in front of him. "I don't have many with me right now. Will these be enough? If not, I'll send someone to bring you more."

Ye Chen examined them briefly there were fourth- and even fifth-tier cores among them. More than enough.

"They're perfect. Thank you, Teacher."

As he prepared to rise, Yun Yun handed him another osmanthus cake with a slight tilt of her head.

"What's the rush? Eat more. I can't finish them all by myself."

As she reached across the table, her robe shifted again, exposing a soft line of skin at her chest.

This time, Ye Chen's face flushed red.

He quickly took the cake without looking and stared fixedly at the painting behind her instead.

Yun Yun noticed and turned her head.

"Hmm? Ye Chen, you're staring at that painting. What's wrong?"

On the wall behind her hung a lifelike portrait of Yun Yun, clothed in her ceremonial Sect Master's robes.

Her serene expression was captured with such delicate brushwork that she almost seemed alive within the frame.

"That… who painted it?" Ye Chen asked, voice unusually soft.

Yun Yun smiled, her tone casual. "That was a gift from Master Hua Ling, a renowned court painter from the imperial capital.

He visited the sect two years ago."

Ye Chen paused, then, almost hesitantly, said, "Teacher… may I keep that painting?"

The room fell silent.

"You want my portrait?" she asked, brows lifting slightly in surprise. "Why?"

He opened his mouth but hesitated.

To say that he admired her was not enough.

To say that he… felt something was too much.

In the end, he lowered his eyes and answered honestly, "I want to keep a part of this place with me. Something to remind me of you. Of the time you've guided me.

When I leave for Wutan City… I don't know when I'll return."

Yun Yun studied him for a moment, her eyes softening.

After a pause, she gave a quiet laugh. "Silly boy. If you want it, take it. Just don't forget what I've taught you."

Ye Chen's heart stirred.

He stood up, bowed deeply, and accepted the painting with both hands.

"I won't forget, Teacher. Not ever."
