Within a stretched flatland, two kingdom armies could be seen standing off against each other.
On one side were a group of soldiers dressed in white and gold armour lined up in a certain formation, infantries in the front, cavalries at the back, some shaky breath could be heard within the ranks, but there was a single horse standing in front of the army, on it sat a regal warrior, a woman with blood red hair and an unruly aura around her, a spear grasped tightly in her hand as she stared at the enemy forces without a shred of fear in her pearly green eyes.
Standing opposite were warriors dressed in blood red armour, the air around them screamed brutality as the aura around them seem like they were walking calamities. Their numbers compared to the other side was lower. Despite that, there was no fear or nervousness, since the one leading them was their king. Yes, their king had joined them in this battle.
Standing in front of his army, the king, a devilishly handsome man, he was dressed in a casual royal wear, aside from the black gauntlets on his hands, he did not look like someone coming to war, but him just standing there sent the other army into tension.
Looking at the woman with his red eyes, he frowned, "I've heard of you, goddess of war, Elysande Sigrid.."
"I've also heard of you, Demon King of the North, Zaccai Sinclaire..." the woman responded as a glint flashed through her eyes.
"You're beautiful, you know that?"
Zaccai's words made Elysande frown.
"I'm wondering why your kingdom would want to wage war against mine when we have no disputes and they would send you to come and die..." Zaccai said with a sigh as he massaged his eyebrows.
"...Miss Elysande, who did you really offend?"
Before Elysande could retort, a soldier beside roared out as he glared at Zaccai, "General, do not believe the words of a devil, even if they did not launch an attack, sooner or later, they would"
Elysande frowned more as she looked at the frantic expression of her second-in-command, her eyes turned cold and as if feeling her gaze the man turned to look her.
"Darius...was it worth it?"
"Your Highness, you are a threat... only someone at your level can nip you in the bud..." Darius replied and his words sent a jolt through Elysande's spine as she turned her head to look at the soldiers she was leading. Most of them pointed their weapons at a few other soldiers while the rest pointed theirs at her.
"Your Highness, this is for you" Darius threw her a parchment which she caught and unfolded, in it were the written words of someone she knew too well, but could not expect.
Dear Elysande,
I'm sure if you are reading this, you already found out. Well, your death would be avenged I promise, your love also, I will take care of him in your stead. What is yours has always been satisfactory. I'm sure dying in the hands of someone as ugly as the demon king is not too bad.
Your lovely sister,
Ivy.
Looking at the letter made Elysande see red, "Ivy!!!...You f*cking b*tch!!!"
Darius frowned and pulled out his sword as he pointed it at Elysande who looked down at him, "As my final respect to you, I would accompany you to fight the demon king and his army...but you must not insult the first princess"
Elysande rose an eyebrow as her spear moved and the next thing, Darius was impaled through as he looked at the red haired woman in surprise, he never expected her to be this decisive, he crumpled to death with disbelief in her eyes.
Zaccai who had watching silently, turned around and commanded his army to return back to their kingdom, there was no disagreement as they left their king.
Sensing this, the opposing soldier tried to step forward, Zaccai stretched his hand to the side and a sword appeared there, he slashed the side, and the incoming troops disappeared into blood mist.
This served as a deterrent to the remaining troops, Zaccai walked towards them, the soldiers moving back in fear, aside from Elysande who still sat on her horse as she stared at the ground.
"Elysande Sigrid..."
Hearing his voice, pulled her from her thoughts and she looked at him, her green ones met his red ones, she noticed how his eyes turned magenta under the gleam of the sun.
"What do you want?...To finish what you were supposed to do?"
Hearing her words made Zaccai twitch his lips, "Not really...I just need a wife, how about you marry me?"
"What?...are you trying to insult me?..." Elysande glared as she brandished her spear and pierced towards Zaccai who parried her attack with ease.
Leaping down from her horse, she attacked Zaccai continuously but he just parried her attack like it was nothing, causing her pride to be hit.
The soldiers seeing, saw this as an opportunity as the archers nocked their arrows and shot. Zaccai frowned at this and glared at the archers who immediately collapsed as they clutched their heads while screaming, before their voices were cut short by their heads popping like balloons.
Elysande paled as soon as she saw this and she looked at Zaccai with fear, despite being the goddess of war, she had never seen a feat like this.
Zaccai turned towards her, "how about now?..."
Elysande nodded without hesitation, she turned around and looked at the remaining soldiers, they were the ones who had still stayed by her side, Zaccai had not killed them.
"No need to worry about them, just like you, they are my prisoners of war, but they won't become slaves, they would be your personal army, one only you can command, is that okay?" Zaccai said as he turned around and walked away.
Elysande watched his back a conflicted expression on her face.
