"Just in time!"
On the Lord God Space, Yujin let out a heavy sigh of relief.
"Did you finally solve the trouble you wanted to?"
Beside him, Nova asked softly.
Yujin couldn't help but pull Nova into a hug. "Yeah! You really helped me out! Without your side quest…"
From Nova's perspective, Yujin had just exchanged for the return time of Alien: Covenant. To her, it seemed like it all happened in an instant.
One moment, Yujin was still in his space suit.
The next, he reappeared battered and scarred, missing an arm, looking utterly miserable.
The moment he returned to the Lord God Space, he rushed to check the items inside the Lord God's orb, his urgency leaving Nova puzzled.
Watching Yujin stomp his foot and beat his chest in frustration, Nova couldn't resist asking what had happened.
The place Yujin had been sent back to in Alien: Covenant was Earth.
Back then, Earth had no such strange creatures as xenomorphs, so it was difficult to earn any reward points there.
At first, Yujin only planned to treat it like a vacation, resting a few days before leaving.
But then, on television, he saw that Weyland-Yutani Corporation was about to launch a new spaceship.
The ship was named Enlightenment, and its speed was more than five times that of the Covenant.
The moment he saw it, Yujin didn't hesitate. He stormed Weyland-Yutani Corporation single-handedly and successfully hijacked the ship.
Once aboard, he contacted the heroine, Daniels. After a short reunion, she revealed the location of the Engineers' planet, the perfect place to farm points.
By the time Yujin arrived at the Engineers' world, less than six hours remained before his return.
Fortunately, the vast plaza of the Engineers was too eye-catching to miss, and thanks to Meng Yao's wild incubation last time, the entire place had already become a gathering ground for xenomorphs.
This new generation of xenomorphs was far stronger than the ones Yujin had faced the first time.
The Xenomorphs here were evolving.
What's more, every single one of them would lash out with its tail stinger upon death.
Their blood and saliva had also become even more corrosive.
After a narrow escape—losing one arm and draining his chakra completely—Lord God Yujin still managed to earn six thousand points before returning to the Lord God Space.
When the synchronized vision appeared, he saw that the Naruto-world Yujin was facing off against Kakuzu. His heart instantly sank.
Synchronization only covered bloodlines, ninjutsu, and skills. Items couldn't be shared. Without side-story plots, with only reward points, the Lord God Yujin had no idea how to save such a desperate situation.
It was at that moment that Nova noticed his distress. Yujin quickly told her what he needed.
Nova didn't hesitate and traded him a C-rank side-story plot.
Yujin didn't have time to ask where she had gotten it. He immediately exchanged it for the stitching ability he had long wanted.
[Stitching: Taken from World of Warcraft's "Stitched Abomination." Requires 3000 reward points and a C-rank side-story plot.]
Seeing Naruto-world Yujin fuse Earth Grudge Fear into his own body and gain the power of Wind Release: Earth Grudge Fear, the Lord God Yujin finally had the chance to speak with Nova.
"Thank you for your generosity. How did you even get a side-story plot like that?"
"I…" Nova's face flushed red. "When I was passing through one of the corridors, I accidentally entered a small room. On a table, there was a pile of strange metallic triangles. I thought they might be useful, so I stuffed them all into my bag."
"Later, I completely forgot about it. But when I got here, the Lord God told me that I had collected the Engineers' genetic modification technology and was rewarded with a C-rank side-story plot."
Yujin hurriedly checked the entry.
Sure enough, within the glowing orb's database on Xenomorphs, a new technology had been unlocked.
[Engineer Bio-Armor Manual: Taken from Alien: Covenant and Prometheus.]
The manual was packed with a dense list of required materials. Yujin didn't bother studying it further. He closed the orb and looked at Nova sincerely.
"No matter what, in the next movie world, I'll protect you. To show my gratitude, I'll also pay you interest."
"There's no need," Nova quickly waved her hands. "You saved my life. The only reason I even got this was because of you. I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway. I'm just glad I could help."
Hearing her say this, Yujin didn't hold back. Generously, he spent one thousand reward points to help Nova exchange for two Talisman of the Three Pure Ones, and even tossed her an extra fifteen hundred reward points.
[Talisman of the Three Pure Ones: Requires 500 reward points. Support type. Can heal all injuries except fatal wounds.]
"Take it."
"Also, about these fifteen hundred reward points, I suggest you exchange them for mental strength. If the next horror movie turns out to be a ghost-type one, it'll be hard for me to protect you. With some mental power, it might make a difference."
"Th-thank you!" Nova never expected fortune to come so quickly.
She only had a side storyline to begin with. Without reward points, there was nothing she could buy.
Now she had gained the friendship of a strong ally and even received a tangible benefit. To her, this was nothing short of a blessing.
The Shinobi World.
Caught off guard by the Compound Ninjutsu: Flame and Wind Chaos Wave, Kakuzu was burning with frustration.
He leapt through the trees, eyes locked on the target slipping beyond his sight, fury boiling to the point smoke seemed to rise from his head, his feet stumbling in rage.
Never had he imagined someone would steal his ability right out from under him.
Without the support of his stolen Wind Release Earth Grudge, Kakuzu could only watch helplessly as Uchiha Yujin vanished from view, until he was completely gone.
"Hey, Kakuzu! Where is he?"
The burly man carrying a massive blade rushed over, his face equally sour. He had gained nothing either.
Kakashi had fled through the forest with the swiftness of a rabbit, and the brute hadn't even managed to scratch him.
Seeing no one else around, the big man clapped Kakuzu's shoulder.
"Forget it. If they run, they run. There are plenty of bounty targets. What matters now is the Tailed Beast intel. I heard the Eight-Tails jinchūriki—"
"Splurt!"
The man froze, looking down in shock at the tendrils piercing through his chest, his heart clenched in a crushing grip. His eyes widened in disbelief.
Never, not even in death, would he have thought a comrade from the same organization would betray him like this.
"You—"
With a heavy thud, his corpse collapsed onto the forest floor.
In front of the waterfall, splashes of water danced in the air.
A dark-skinned young man moved with rhythm, roasting fish while rapping aloud.
"Yo, yo, check it out!
Here by the waterfall, grilling fish, life is simple and free!"
"The fish sizzle on the fire, smoke swirling around, just like my dreams, flying without restraint!"
"Dark skin, big dreams, I rap my story, let the world hear my theme!"
"In nature's embrace, I find my paradise, just like the waterfall's stream, forever flowing without end!"
"Oh, that line's good, gotta write it down!"
As he spoke, he pulled out his notebook, scribbling with excitement.
"Hm!?"
Killer Bee suddenly froze, his eyes lifting toward the sky.
A figure, like a headless fly, slammed straight into the cliffside beside the waterfall!
The heavy crash shattered the tranquil rhythm of this place.
Bee leapt back in shock, seven blades flashing into position, his stance sharp as he stared at the body that fell into the water.
It was a boyish-looking figure, but with wings and a tail — far from normal.
On his left shoulder was a strange blue mask-like growth, and at the center of his chest gaped a hollow hole, black threads writhing within it.
What kind of creature was this?
"Oh, yo! A visitor from beyond, not of this world!"
Bee tightened his grip on his blades, eyes sharp and wary, ready to face whatever danger came.
The strange being struggled up from the water.
When his eyes swept over Bee, there was a flicker of surprise — but immediately, his gaze locked onto the roasted fish, its aroma filling the air.
His mouth twitched unconsciously, as though he hadn't eaten in ages.
Without hesitation, his movements rough and desperate, he reached out and snatched the fish right off the fire.
With one bite, he tore into it, devouring half the fish in a single gulp, like someone who had been starving for years.
The flesh barely touched his teeth before sliding down his throat, swallowed whole.
Then, with a tug at the tailbone, he pulled out the skeleton in one clean motion — a bare, gleaming frame of fish bones, stripped entirely of meat.
Killer B was completely stunned. His eyes widened, and an inexplicable anger surged in his chest.
Suddenly, he realized what had happened and shouted, "Y-you… you stole my fish?!"
On the corner of Uchiha Yujin's mouth, the black veins of resentment faintly appeared. Tears welled up in his eyes as he said, "Finally… finally, I get to eat something warm."
