Sunlight fell on Kakashi Hatake's face, slightly drying the mask that had become damp from his breath.
Yawning, Kakashi, perched on a tree, glanced around.
"Damn! Where's that kid?"
Before Kakashi could summon his ninja dog, Pakkun, a figure appeared in the distance.
Seeing Uchiha Yujin carrying two lunch boxes, Kakashi breathed a sigh of relief.
"Let's eat, Kakashi-sensei."
"All right~"
The two sat down on the ground. Kakashi quickly adjusted his mask, opening it slightly, and prepared to eat.
Uchiha Yujin picked up a piece of radish and put it in his mouth. After making a face as if he had just eaten something terrible, he spat it out.
"Kakashi-sensei, how much do you know about genjutsu?"
"Genjutsu, huh," Kakashi said, taking a bite of fish. "It's my weak point."
"With that eye of yours, you're not good at genjutsu either?"
"Not exactly," Kakashi replied, setting down his lunch box. "I'm familiar with some uses of genjutsu. For example, D-rank techniques like the Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique, or breaking genjutsu. But I don't use them often, not much at all~"
Looking at the entire Naruto series, it seemed the only genjutsu Kakashi ever used was the Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique.
And that was only on a young Sakura.
But in reality, the so-called Copy Ninja title came largely from the genjutsu inherent in his Sharingan.
Some techniques he already knew.
To scare opponents, he would pretend to copy them.
Then, he would secretly use genjutsu on the frightened enemy, making them think he was forming hand signs—just not as fast as the Copy Ninja—affecting their mindset.
Enemies were often defeated by their own hesitation and fear.
Kakashi had done this countless times.
It was frighteningly cunning.
If one day Naruto ever went dark and aimed a Rasengan at Kakashi…
Kakashi pretended to be copying, but in truth, he already knew how, and he didn't even need a shadow clone to form the kunai balls. The scene was unimaginable, simply too exquisite.
Kakashi spoke seriously, "For genjutsu that isn't related to dōjutsu, all you need to do is realize you've been affected while under its effect, and disrupt your own chakra flow. That will break the genjutsu."
"But you're an Uchiha, and you have two tomoe," said the student.
"If it's released successfully, the opponent can only break the dōjutsu through chakra supplied by their teammates."
"Strength, mindset, and chakra control—all of these, and more, influence the effectiveness of genjutsu."
"Simply put, if your enemy is on par with you in strength, genjutsu is less effective."
"However, most genjutsu only serve to distract the opponent. The key to using genjutsu effectively is to exploit the flaws you notice while they're stunned."
"I understand. Against equals, it's useless. Against weaker opponents, instant kill."
Kakashi nodded, "Most ninja are fragile. A single kunai can kill most of them. You want to learn genjutsu?"
"You could say that, but what I really want to learn is the art of reflecting genjutsu."
"Reflecting genjutsu?"
A thought flickered through Kakashi's mind.
'As expected, no matter how much this kid grows, what he really wants is a way to counter the Uchiha techniques.'
'Second Hokage, your teachings have deeply influenced this Uchiha boy.'
"I've heard of the art of reflecting genjutsu, but that is a secret of the Uchiha clan. Alright, kid, first learn the Water Dragon Bullet. Step by step."
Uchiha Yujin closed his lunchbox lid. "If you're willing to teach me dōjutsu, sensei, I'd like to learn that too."
"Is that so? Very well."
With a massive amount of chakra as his foundation and having awakened two tomoe at such a young age, Uchiha Yujin, who harbored hatred toward his own clan, was a key student entrusted to Kakashi by the Third Hokage.
Kakashi could teach anything that wasn't forbidden, as long as Uchiha Yujin was capable of learning it.
"Then are you ready?" Kakashi asked, suddenly locking his gaze on Uchiha Yujin.
The Sharingan in his eyes slowly activated, the three tomoe spinning rapidly.
Uchiha Yujin felt a wave of dizziness as the world before him suddenly shifted.
He realized he was standing in a dense forest, with scattered kunai around him, as if he had just gone through an intense training session.
In the distance, on the trunk of a large tree, stood two familiar figures—Uchiha Obito and Uchiha Itachi!
"Damn it, Kakashi! How did you summon the grim reapers?!"
No, these two shouldn't be here. This isn't real! This is fake!
A moment ago, Uchiha Yujin had already realized this was a genjutsu world.
The instant he saw the two of them raising their hands, he instinctively took a step back, his body trembling, powerless, wanting to open his eyes and wake from the nightmare—but he couldn't.
"Break it! Break it for me!"
In his struggle, his Sharingan activated involuntarily, the twin tomoe spinning in his eyes.
Outside the genjutsu, Kakashi observed Uchiha Yujin's reaction.
He nodded with a sense of satisfaction when he saw the twin tomoe appear.
"That guy, Obito… at Yujin's age, he was probably still wearing open-crotch pants," Kakashi thought mischievously.
Suddenly, Kakashi's pupils contracted sharply.
He noticed that after Yujin's tomoe fully formed in his right eye, the tails of the twin tomoe had developed two red curved hooks, resembling scorpion stingers.
Even Kakashi had never seen this kind of mutated Sharingan before.
Confused, his gaze shifted to the curse mark on Uchiha Yujin's shoulder.
He couldn't help but think of Orochimaru.
Images of Orochimaru flashed in his mind, along with memories of past events.
Suddenly, a spark of alertness crossed Kakashi's eyes, and his body darted to the side.
Where he had just been standing, a tail, sharp as a blade, sliced through, leaving a deep scar in the ground.
Looking at Uchiha Yujin, who was trapped in the genjutsu world, a tail had indeed sprouted from his body.
Kakashi's expression darkened.
So this was Orochimaru's doing.
Without hesitation, Kakashi quickly formed hand signs.
With his hand seals complete, three shadow clones appeared instantly, charging toward Uchiha Yujin together.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three shadow clones collided with the tail, creating a series of loud impacts before disappearing one after another.
While the shadow clones successfully drew the tail's attention, Kakashi seized the opportunity and silently approached Uchiha Yujin!
He quickly struck Uchiha Yujin on the forehead!
In the genjutsu world, Uchiha Yujin watched as Obito and Itachi slowly advanced toward him. He wanted to resist, wanted to form hand seals, but he realized his arms were beginning to melt, filling him with unprecedented despair.
But as Kakashi infused chakra, he blinked in confusion.
The moment he opened his eyes, Uchiha Yujin sensed that something was wrong.
He was horrified to see his tail curling out of his body, winding around him.
This meant that Teacher Kakashi had already seen him in this monstrous form.
What was he supposed to do now?!
As Uchiha Yujin stood there, unsure of what to do, Kakashi let out a sigh.
"Don't worry. The village will do everything it can to help remove the curse mark!"
Uchiha Yujin: "Huh?"
