"Multiplayer?"
Daisy "Dizzy" Lane stared at the prompt. Titanfall's single-player cinematic had her hooked, ready for three more hours of movie-level vibes. Now this?
Chat flipped:
"Six Titans brawling?!"
"Big war, like Briggs said!"
"Total chaos on Typhon!"
"Titans vs. Titans? I'm in!"
"Difficulty spikes with more players? Bring it!"
"King of Urgent, assemble the squad!"
Daisy paused the game, pulling up her Twitch friends list. ShuBro's avatar—NotZhouShuyi—was spamming:
"Dizzy! Done with the signal tower?"
"One spot left! Titans are scrapping!"
"Yo, you in or what?"
Daisy typed: "1111111"
Ding! ShuBro's voice channel invite popped up. She joined, jaw dropping. Six streamers: ShuBro, Old Horse, Ethan "Piggie" Vance, Eggplant, Winter Melon, and her.
Chat erupted:
"All-star lineup!"
"Half of Twitch's heavyweights!"
"400 million views combined?!"
"Shark's going nuclear!"
"Hey, y'all!" Daisy said. "Dizzy's in the house!"
"Dizzy's here!" Ethan "Piggie" Vance said. "We set?"
"Six and counting," Eggplant confirmed. "Let's squad up."
ShuBro took charge. "I'm building the team. Join in, folks."
The squad formed in-game. Daisy asked, "So, we all drive Titans? Chat's hyped for a brawl."
"Seems like it," ShuBro said. "Just hit this level. Piggie pulled me in, so I grabbed you all."
"Brutal lineup," Daisy grinned. These were Twitch's titans—she was the small fry here.
Game on. The screen went black, a low rumble filling the IndieVibe X2 cabin. Daisy felt BT's cockpit shaking, like a plane ride.
"Yo, we're airborne," she said. "Feels like a PUBG drop."
"No shit," Old Horse laughed. "I've done this 800 times a day."
"Skydiving vibes," Piggie teased.
"Are we parachuting into hell?" Winter Melon's voice cracked, adrenaline spiking.
"Cover each other," ShuBro warned. "This'll be rough."
"I'm locked in," Eggplant boasted. "Chat, watch the master at work."
Boom! Distant explosions echoed. The screen lit up. Six Titans lined a cramped transport ship, steel and oil thick in the air.
Commander Briggs stood on a platform, tablet in hand. "Pilots, listen up. The IMC's got a space-time folding weapon. It can wipe out a planet. Needs the Holy Ark to power it. We take the Ark before it leaves the airbase."
Electric guitars roared, the Pacific Rim soundtrack kicking in—wild, pulsing, like a beast ready to pounce.
Text flashed:
Trial by Fire
Presented by Titanfall & Pacific Rim
BGM: Pacific Rim (Original Soundtrack)
Special Thanks: Legendary Pictures
Chat exploded:
"PACIFIC RIM?!"
"Goosebumps!"
"Gus, you madman!"
"Soundtrack's a banger!"
"Titans dropping like Jaegers!"
How'd this happen? Gus Harper, after Hannah Toole's call from Legendary Pictures, saw a chance. Titanfall's "Trial by Fire" needed a bigger punch. The Pacific Rim theme was perfect—raw, epic, war-ready.
Gus pitched it to Thomas Tull, Legendary's founder. Sent a demo. Tull lost it, greenlighting the collab instantly. "Name your price," he'd said, fanboy mode on.
The result? A Titan war, up to six players, with enemy forces scaling per squad size. Six players like Daisy's crew? Expect an IMC army.
The music swelled. Briggs raised her arms. "Marauder Legion, ready!"
She dropped her hands. "Titans, drop!"
Hiss! Cockpits sealed. The drop bay opened.
WOOHOO! The Pacific Rim theme hit its climax as six Vanguard-class Titans plummeted.
Typhon's battlefield unfolded: jagged mountains, blood-red sunset, a sprawling airbase. Anti-air guns roared, tracer rounds weaving a deadly net. Drones and ships clashed above. Militia and IMC troops fell in waves, bodies piling up.
Boom! The Titans landed, cratering the mudflats. Across the airbase, a massive IMC ship—two football fields long—prepped to launch with the Holy Ark.
Daisy gripped BT's controls, raising his machine gun. "BT, let's roll."
"Ready, Pilot."
Chat screamed:
"FIGHT IT OUT!"
"Scalp's tingling!"
"Better than any movie!"
"WindyPeak's making blockbusters!"
"Gus knows our G-spot!"
The Titan war erupted. IMC Titans dropped like hail, their numbers jacked up for the six-player squad.
Boom! Daisy's BT staggered, eating a hit while downing an enemy Titan. Two more closed in.
A gas canister arced overhead, landing at the enemies' feet. ShuBro's Titan slid in, arms raised. "Flame Core!"
BOOM! A mushroom cloud swallowed the Titans. ShuBro laughed. "You good, Dizzy?"
On the east side, Old Horse dodged a barrage, his semi-auto Titan struggling. IMC squads and Reapers swarmed.
"No cover!" he groaned. "I'm screwed!"
"Hold up!" Piggie's voice boomed. His beast-rigged Titan leaped skyward. "Flight Core!"
Missiles rained. Old Horse grinned, firing his shoulder cannon. "Rocket Core!"
BOOM! Their combined ultimates torched a 100-meter radius, leaving scorched earth.
West side, Winter Melon and Eggplant faced a boss: a Legion Titan, its rotary gun a walking kill zone. Their Titans bled health, no batteries nearby.
Winter Melon gripped his alloy sword. Eggplant flashed out, yelling, "Come get it!"
"Laser Core!" A beam blasted the Legion back.
Winter Melon roared, "Eat this!" "Sword Core!"
His blade cleaved the Legion's head, dropping it. Eggplant cackled. "Knifed him!"
In Seattle, Zoey Parker slumped at her desk. 400 million stream views. A Pacific Rim collab. X trending with Titan clips. Her $170M Titanfall budget was a runaway hit, not a $90M loss. Her $990M rebate? Gone.
"Gus, you're ruining me," she muttered.
