Opening their Poké Balls, Misty sent out her Goldeen and Starmie. Natsui and Ash also released their respective Squirtles. The four Pokémon dove in and, in front of the nearest window, used Tackle at the same time.
The continuous impacts gradually caused the ship's window to crack, until finally, a large hole formed, big enough for two people to pass through at once.
And since the opening was completely submerged, no more water entered, nor did it affect the air pressure inside the cabin.
When the Pokémon returned to the group, Brock took some clotheslines from his backpack and tied each of them to one of the Pokémon.
"Hey, hey!" Jessie said anxiously, seeing that they each had a Pokémon. "What about us? We don't have any Water-type Pokémon!"
At that moment, Natsui released his Magikarp.
In the anime, the Team Rocket trio escaped the sunken ship thanks to this Magikarp. Who would have thought that, even with a new owner now, it couldn't escape its destiny.
James looked down and, seeing the lively Magikarp, immediately recognized its origin, "Ah, isn't that the Magikarp from the scammer salesman?!"
Natsui nodded slightly, "That's right, I bought it for 500."
"That scoundrel!" James clenched his fists, grinding his teeth. "And to think he hyped it up so much, and this Magikarp is really only worth 500!"
"Well," Natsui said to the Team Rocket trio, "let this Magikarp pull you out. But I'm warning you, it seems a bit dim-witted and might not understand human language. If any accidents happen along the way, I won't be held responsible."
"Exactly," Misty added. "And you'd better not try any funny business, or we'll leave you here to fend for yourselves!"
"You can rest assured!" the Team Rocket trio quickly shook their heads, looking weak and humble. "In a life-or-death situation like this, how could we possibly cause trouble?!"
"That's right, meow~!"
Regardless, Natsui pointed at Meowth and said, "But just in case, Meowth, you're coming with me."
Meowth was stunned, "Huh? And why is that, meow?"
"You fool, to be the hostage, of course," Natsui said, then turned his gaze to Jessie and James. "When we get back to the surface, if you want to get Meowth back, you'd better take good care of my Magikarp. If not, I'll use him to settle the debt."
Hearing that he was being taken hostage, Meowth's gaze towards Natsui filled with terror, while Jessie muttered under her breath, "How is this kid more of a villain than we are!?"
Once everything was settled, Natsui returned Kirlia to its Poké Ball and then tied Meowth to his waist.
At that moment, Brock also picked up a few empty bottles and handed them to the others.
"I don't know if this method will work, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Let's all take them."
Natsui took out his phone and took a few pictures of the place. Although it was a misfortune, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a very valuable memory.
Then, he used a sealable plastic bag to store his phone, his Pokédex, and his wallet. After sealing it tightly, he wrapped the bag in a raincoat and only then put it in his backpack.
Finally, he took out a pair of swimming goggles, put them on, and at the same time took out an underwater respirator.
Although he knew how to swim, he wasn't very good in the water; he couldn't swim very fast or open his eyes underwater like the others.
However, this underwater respirator was actually a small portable oxygen tank. The compressed air inside could provide three minutes of oxygen under normal conditions, but it was uncertain how long it would last at this depth.
Aside from him, everyone else was holding an empty water bottle in their mouth, which gave them a very comical appearance. They looked at each other with smiles in their eyes.
Seeing that everyone was ready, Natsui put the respirator's mouthpiece in his mouth, gave an "OK" sign with his hand, and, along with the others, plunged into the water one after another.
The current below the surface was relatively stable. Propelled by Squirtle, Natsui barely had to exert himself as his body was pulled a great distance.
They swam another ten meters down the corridor and finally saw the window the Pokémon had broken.
The group exited the cruise ship in an orderly fashion, and then changed direction to swim towards the surface.
Sunlight penetrated the water, leaving hazy shadows. Visibility was not good; beyond a few meters around them, everything was total darkness.
And under the dim light, Natsui could see Misty's pale legs, moving right before his eyes, in a very eye-catching way.
She really looks like a mermaid…
At that moment, the bottles in everyone's mouths began to deform from the water pressure, the impact of the current, or their own breathing. They had no choice but to take a deep breath of air and get rid of the bottles one by one.
After swimming a few more meters upwards, Natsui took a moment to look back and saw that, somehow, Jessie and James's ropes had gotten tangled. Their bodies were spinning endlessly, creating a force opposing Magikarp's pull!
Seeing this, Natsui quickly pulled on the rope at his waist. Squirtle turned around and, seeing Natsui's gesture, swam back towards Jessie and James.
Natsui reached out his hands to try and untie the rope, but at that moment the two were so entangled that no matter how much he pulled, he couldn't separate them.
In that instant, a figure appeared beside him. It was Misty, who had seen them falling behind and had also come to help!
But even so, they couldn't untie the rope. Finally, Meowth, who could no longer bear to watch, used its sharp claws to cut the rope from James's waist, freeing them from their predicament.
However, as luck would have it, while Jessie was struggling, she unintentionally kicked Misty in the abdomen. Misty felt a sharp pain, opened her mouth by instinct, and instantly, a stream of bubbles escaped from it.
Seeing that Misty had run out of air, Natsui quickly took the underwater respirator from his mouth and passed it to her.
Misty had no time to think. She quickly took the respirator, put it in her mouth, and took a deep breath.
That saved her life.
She returned the respirator to Natsui and gave him a thumbs-up to indicate she was okay.
Natsui nodded, waved his hand at Squirtle, and, together with Misty, they each took one of James's arms and, with the help of the two Pokémon, continued to swim upwards.
After that accident, the rest of the journey went smoothly. The light above them grew brighter and brighter until, finally, after swimming another ten meters up, they emerged on the surface, completely safe.
