Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Victory Against Lily and Battle Against Krabby

The Celeste Gym battlefield consists of a deep circular pool with a rock platform in the center.

Being a Water-type gym, the space for other Pokémon to move is limited, so every step must be taken with great care.

On both sides of the field, in the trainer zones, Natsui and the three Sensational Sisters stared at each other from opposite sides of the water.

Daisy said, "The rules of the battle are simple. Each of us will use one Pokémon. If you defeat all of us, you'll have passed the challenge."

Violet, arms crossed, asked, "So, who would you like to challenge first?"

Natsui glanced at their faces one by one: "I don't mind who it is. You decide."

"Well, aren't you confident." As the youngest of the sisters, Lily stepped forward voluntarily and pulled a Poké Ball from her pocket. "If that's the case, let me be the first to face you! Go, Goldeen!"

A flash of blue light cut through the air, and a white fish with a single horn on its head appeared in the pool.

Natsui pulled out her Pokédex and pointed it at the Pokémon.

Pokédex: "Bip. Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokémon. Its dorsal and caudal fins are highly developed, allowing it to swim at 5 knots. Since its tail fin sways gracefully like a dress, it is known as the Queen of Water."

After looking to her side, Natsui sent out her first Pokémon.

"Eevee, I choose you!"

Eevee let out an excited cry and jumped, landing on the rock.

There was no type advantage between the two Pokémon, so victory would depend on which one was stronger. However, with the terrain advantage, it wouldn't be easy for Eevee to defeat Goldeen.

"Goldeen, use Peck!"

At Lily's command, the battle officially began!

Goldeen flicked its tail, jumped out of the water, and, as if flying, launched itself straight toward Eevee.

"Eevee, dodge it!"

With its agile movements, Eevee easily dodged the attack.

"Use Tackle!"

As their bodies crossed paths, Eevee leaped through the air to strike the small fish with great force, but just as Eevee was about to hit Goldeen, it dove back into the water, disappearing from sight.

Eevee, with too much momentum and unable to stop, fell into the water as well. However, as soon as it surfaced, it swam with its four legs and climbed back onto the rock.

It shook off its wet fur, looking like a drenched dog in trouble.

On the other side, Lily smiled. "Good! Goldeen, keep it up and corner it in the water!"

Goldeen repeated the same tactic and used Peck again, but this time, with the weight of the water, Eevee's speed was greatly affected. In the face of Goldeen's second attack, Eevee only barely dodged it at the last moment.

Seeing this, Natsui let out a sigh of relief, but couldn't help but feel a cold sweat for Eevee.

Judging by Eevee's current strength, if it took a direct hit, it would be weakened in just a few attacks.

Thinking about this, Natsui's gaze moved, scanning the area, until she spotted a bunch of protruding rocks beneath Eevee's feet, and a plan began to form in her mind.

"Eevee, jump onto those rocks below you!"

Eevee turned its head to look at Natsui, and though it didn't understand, it obeyed the order and jumped.

Seeing this, Lily laughed. "Whatever you do now, it won't matter! Goldeen, use Horn Attack!"

Goldeen jumped out of the water once more, charging toward Eevee with its horn.

"Eevee, dodge it!"

Eevee dodged the attack with a sideways leap, but the rock it had just been on shattered from Goldeen's impact.

Natsui ordered again: "Eevee, jump back to where you were!"

As Eevee returned to the pile of rocks, Goldeen launched its attack once more.

In front of the fast-moving Goldeen, Natsui said calmly: "Eevee, use Sandstorm!"

At the command, Eevee quickly turned around and, with its front paws, kicked up a cloud of dust, throwing all the rubble and gravel beneath its feet toward Goldeen.

Instantly, the gravel blinded Goldeen's eyes, and the debris halted its charge, causing it to lose control and crash heavily onto the rock.

Lily paled in surprise. "What!?"

Natsui smiled slightly.

A fish out of water, no matter how imposing it was before, in the end only has one way out.

Lily shouted anxiously, "Goldeen, get back to the water!"

However, Goldeen splashed a few times on the rock, but unable to orient itself, it couldn't return to the water.

"Damn it." Seeing Eevee getting closer, Lily shouted, "Goldeen, use Supersonic!"

A visible sonic wave shot from Goldeen's mouth. Although Supersonic hit Eevee and confused it for a moment, when Eevee recovered, the situation hadn't changed.

"Eevee," said Natsui, pointing, "it's time to finish the battle!"

Eevee nodded and, with a strong charge, sent Goldeen completely out of the fight.

Lily sighed, returned Goldeen to its Poké Ball, and silently stepped aside.

"You're not bad at all," Violet said as she moved to the trainer's zone and threw a Poké Ball onto the surface of the water. "But this next Pokémon won't be so easy to beat. Go, Krabby!"

A crab-shaped Pokémon appeared in the water. Its large pincers, raised high, were especially striking. However, upon closer inspection, its red and white body and a pair of blank eyes gave it a somewhat silly appearance, as if it wasn't very smart.

Pokédex: "Bip. Krabby, the Crab Pokémon. Its pincers are its most powerful weapon, but they sometimes fall off when attacking, though they quickly grow back. In areas with little food, it is common to see them fight for their territory. If danger approaches, they spit bubbles from their mouths to cover their bodies and appear larger."

"Eevee, return. You've worked very hard."

When Eevee returned to her side, Natsui first petted its head in approval and then looked toward Bulbasaur.

"Now it's your turn, Bulbasaur."

"Bulba, saur!"

Bulbasaur understood, ran to the edge of the pool, and, with a jump, landed on the rock.

Bulbasaur is a Grass and Poison type, so it has a type advantage over Krabby, which is a Water type. However, the problem was still the same: in this water-filled battlefield, the space to move was extremely limited, and avoiding falling into the water would be the key factor for victory.
