"Actually, I have no clue what half these buttons do," she admitted, her fingers hovering uncertainly over the dashboard.
Alan's mouth quirked up at one corner, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "How about a proper first drive? I can walk you through everything."
"Us too?" Ariel piped up from behind, her little voice filled with uncontainable excitement.
"Obviously," Alan replied, glancing over his shoulder. His expression softened in that familiar way it only did for the kids. "Can't test a family car without the whole crew."
Ten minutes later, they were all settled inside. The triplets were buckled up in the back seats, their energy buzzing like contained fireworks, while Alan took his place beside Amelia in the passenger seat.
"Where to?" Amelia asked, adjusting the mirrors as the late afternoon sunlight glinted across the car's hood.
"Take the coast road," Alan suggested. "Good mix of driving conditions. You'll get a feel for everything."
