I woke up to the sound of my doorbell ringing, "who in thier right mind wakes up by 7:00 am on a Saturday morning?" I mumbled as I opened the door just to see a mailman at my door
"Thanks" I said as I collected the envelope he gave me and closed the door
I opened the envelope hesitantly, nothing could prepare me for what was I the envelop, staring at me is a wedding invitation, not just any wedding invitation but my ex Micah's wedding invitation to be precise.
My eyes blurred, memories I thought I buried started flooding my mind. The love I thought we shared, the pain, heartache, tears.
I stormed to the living room letter in hand as I collapsed onto the couch.
" Hey who was at the door? " My best friend Luca said as she was walking into the living room with a cup of coffee… I think
I totally forgot she slept over.

I held the letter out as I signed " Micah is getting married.. to Rachel and he invited me"
Her expression softened "oh.. Emily I'm so sorry"
My eyes started to sting " I thought we were done. I thought I've moved on, But why does it still hurt? " I said as my voice cracked
She dropped her coffee on the table as she came to sit beside me and wrapped her arms around me hugging me " you have every right to be angry babe, but trust me, you've moved on, you might not know but I do"
" I don't know how he could do this to me" I said as tears streamed down my face "
" maybe he wants to prove something or maybe just maybe he has moved on.. I don't know"
" you're not helping idiot" I said as I smacked her head smiling

" but seriously I need to attend the wedding"
" are you sure you want to see the man you loved get married to the same woman you caught him cheating on you with ? It might hurt"
" you're right but if I don't go, it'll look like I'm not over him and still stuck on him and I don't want to give him that satisfaction."
Luca sighed " that's dumb and childish but you might actually be right, what's the plan"
My eyes sparkled mischievously as I started at Luca " I'm going to need a fake partner.. you"
Her expression changed from shocked to happy to a lot of things in a short period of time " me?!!" She yelled.
I nodded smiling "yes you, you're perfect, Micah has always been insecure of you when we were dating"
She looked shocked "why would he be insecure of me?"
"He said you liked me more than friends"

"I'm still not going to the wedding with you Emily, go find someone else"
"Please Luca, I really can't go alone and I need to show Micah that that I've moved on"
"Then don't go, I'm not interested in doing that, besides I have something do on the day of the wedding"

"Please Luca, if I don't go it'll make him think I'm not over him" I said softly, a voice she can't resist for some reason.
"Which is clearly true" she said under her break.

She groaned got you "okay fineee, but promise me one thing"

"Wait where are you going? I thought we were going to get lunch."
"Change of plans if I'm going with you to that fucking wedding I have to get laid, now bye"
