Hello this is author here,I'm new to writing so my writing will probably be garbage so yeah bare with it if you can,of course I'm not gonna make you read this novel Don't hate, just give me advice, if you don't like it,you can just go to a different novel. Anyway let's start the story.
A 16 year old boy with black hair and crimson eyes is currently in a bus on a bench, the boy's name is Isaac a person who basically lived their entire life in the outskirts.
A girl with Silver hair,blue eyes,and incredibly beautiful. She has this coldness and charm,every man and boy stared at her with ill intentions.
Meanwhile Isaac Doesn't even spare a glance at her, completely.
Other people also looked at Isaac specifically his black hair, black hair in this world usually meant impurity or stubbornness.
Suddenly SHAKE! SHAKE! The bus shook violently 'what the?' Isaac thought as he looked out of the window there were infected this world also had infected, monsters that suddenly invaded earth 100 years ago.
They can only be killed by awakened, people who developed magical powers. The monsters came from the abyss a random portal that disappears and reappears scientists found a way to forcefully open it for 3 hours to 3 days, so that awakened can go inside the abyss and defeat the monsters.
There is also 7 ranks Unawakend-awakened, expert, master, transcendent,saint,and lastly sovereign. There's also things called abilities, and, magic powers.
As the monsters kept rampaging Isaac kept calm and thought of what should he do 'dammit what should I do?' Isaac thought as he tried to think of a plan, Isaac knew that if he stayed in this bus longer the monsters would eventually come and corner them isaac took a glance at the silver haired girl and she was gone.
'Hmm looks like that girl left' isaac thought, but he quickly turned his attentions towards the situation then isaac quietly got out of the bus he quickly glanced at the other people in the bus, they wore expressions of fear and shock.
'Tch I don't care I'll do anything to survive' Isaac thought as he turned his head to the task at hand.
Isaac left the bus and ran through the alleyways hoping to find shelter but then an infected lunged at him out of nowhere but Isaac quickly dodged, well almost dodged as the infected made a shallow cut on his arm, Isaac didn't react as he suffered and went through worse in the outskirts.
Isaac kicked the infected in the face and grabbed a nearby stick and kept beating the infected with the stick and when it died isaac ran again, through the alleyways as he was running isaac felt more infected behind him,isaac panicked when he was at a dead end.
'Dammit I can't die low' isaac said as the infected carefully approached him with an infuriating smug grin on their face, as if they were gonna eat dinner.
Sigh 'I'm gonna die aren't I? Well I might as well accept it' Isaac though as the monsters were about to eat him a shining white light obscured isaacs and the infected's vision, and whne isaac opened his eyes the infected heads were rolling on the ground.
Isaac's eyes widened as he saw the sight 'what the?' Isaac thought, but when isaac looked up, there she was the same beautiful girl on the bus though something was different, she had white armor that perfectly complimented her curves,and Isaac saw a badge, the awakened academy.
The awakened academy was an academy that trained awakened to fight and also learn more about the ranks and other stuff.
"Thank you for saving me….uh what's your name?" Isaac said his voices laced with gratitude and shock.
"Call me Serena" the beautiful silver haired girl said.
"Alright thank you Serena" Isaac said isaac then asked another question "now what?".
The silver haired girl or Serena then said "you haven't gave me your name"
"Ah my name is Isaac" Isaac said
"No last name?" Serena said "That's…strange"
"Ahh yes I was born from the outskirts so it's normal I don't have a last name" Isaac said his voice filled with a hint of sadness, as Isaac remembered his life in the outskirts, over there survival was everything people often manipulated other people to survive.
And Isaac also had to manipulate to survive, Isaac snapped back into reality as Serena's voice snapped him back to his thoughts.
"I see potential in you" Serena said her cold icy voice showing.
"Really?" Isaac said his voice laced in confusion and shock, "yes I have an ability that lets me see other people's potential and yours is…..extraordinary" Serena said her voice laced with her usual coldness and also a hint of shock.
Isaac then thought to himself 'me? Potential I'm just a useless outskirts rat, how do I have potential?' Once again Serena's cold voice cut through his thoughts'
"Why don't you become an awakened? Isaac" Serena said her voice cold and calm as if talking about the most normal thing possible.
Isaac then thought to himself 'hmmm awakened huh?' Isaac thought about all the advantages and the disadvantages and the thing is Isaac couldn't think about any disadvantages except his higher rating of dying.
Serena's cold blue eyes looked at him with an intensity that can make anyone shiver "so?" Serena said.
"Fine I'll become an awakened" Isaac said Isaac thought about it more and more realizing the advantages he had.
"Good now follow m-" before Serena could finish other infected surrounded us in the alleyway, "ugh great I forgot about these creatures" Serena said her voice laced with coldness and a bit of annoyance.
One of the infected lunged but before They can land a scratch on Serena and me Serena already cut the head of the vile thing.
Then Serena lunged at one of the other ones and delivered a swift arc to the Infected's ribs Serena's katana gleaming in the light, the infected was cut in half in an instant Isaac watched in shock as Serena killed all of them Isaac thought to himself 'she is quite strong' then the last infected suddenly lunged at Isaac.
Isaac froze in fear but quickly grabbed a wooden stick and hit the infected with it. The infected gasped in pain and that time was all he needed as he dealt a swift kick to the ribs these type of infected were the weakest kind, Isaac could figure that out.
Snapping out of his thoughts when he kicked the infected in the ribs, he intentionally hit the infected fat enough to where Serena is. Serena, saw this opportunity and slashed at the infected or what others liked to call this type of Infected goblins.
The goblin hit the floor with a loud THUD! Isaac looked around all the goblins were littered on the ground guts spewing out Isaac forced himself to look away or he might have puked.
Serena then said "let's go" but before Serena could go Isaac said "what about the other infected that could kill other people?"
"Don't worry they have already sent awakened to kill them" Serena said coldy as she continued "so they probably have already taken care of it"
Isaac nodded slowly and then reluctantly followed Serena.
"Where are we going?" Isaac said his voice mixed with confusion as well as with that usual stubborn voice.
"The sanctuary" Serena said her voice calm and cold isaac then looked at her with confusion.
Serena sensing his confusion continued "The sanctuary is a place where you participate to become an awakened but first you need to complete a trial set by the system when you complete the trial you officially become an awakened" Serena explained with her usual calmness and coldness.
Isaac then looked at her "system?" Isaac said his voice calm but also with a hint of confusion.
"Ahh right you don't know lemme explain it" She said her voice calm and cold as she continued explaining "the system appeared randomly the day the abyss came it's basically a thing where it drives you into the trial and it asses your abilities magical power and skills" Serena continued her voice calm and composed "it basically gives you your magic powers abilities etc when you complete the trial you will also be given a status where when you say status it gives you information of your current rank abilities name etc and you can only see it" Serena finally finished her voice calm and composed.
Isaac Processed this and one thought came in his head 'what is the system?' Isaac and Serena kept walking to their destination.
"So any questions?" Serena said her voice calm and cold.
"No I don't have any questions" Isaac said his voice calm.
Isaac and Serena chatted for a bit a comfortable silence stretched between them after sometime of talking Serena and Isaac arrive at a luxurious car.
"Wow your rich" Isaac said teasingly Isaac knew that awakened were pretty rich since they basically risked their lives everyday.
Serena didn't say anything as they both went in the car there was a butler. In the driver seat.
"Where to my lady?" The butler said his voice calm and professional.
"The sanctuary" Serena said her voice cold and calm the butler simply nodded "as you wish"
Isaac watched the interaction before closing his eyes to sleep he was tired after all today many things happened like defeating a few infected or the infected roaming around wrecking havoc.
A few hours later Isaac woke up a bit groggy
As he glanced at Serena, she was still awake.
"We are here" Serena said her voice calm and cold Isaac rubbed his temples and outside was a beautiful dark sanctuary with an anonymous aura around the dark sanctuary.
Serena and Isaac both stepped out of the car as they stepped inside Isaac was greeted by a big red carpet where it leads to where you sign up as an awakened and complete the trial.
Serena and Isaac walked to the registration booth to a petite girl with dark brown hair, and black eyes. The girl was beautiful, but not as much as Serena.
The girl then said "ah! Serena it's been a while!" The girl said cheerfully the girl then noticed me "and who is this handsome young man? Is he your boyfriend?" The girl teased Serena ignored her question and then said.
"I would like him to register as an awakened" Serena Said coldly isaac's crimson's eyes locked onto the girl's black eyes.
"Ah okay lemme get the papers and btw my name is Alice" Alice extended her hand to shake mine "and I'm Isaac" Isaac said his voice calm and composed.
Alice nodded and got the papers, after I signed the papers and everything Alice led us to the portal to the trial.
We finally arrived at the portal it was a massive dark portal that had special chains wrapped around it "this is the portal to the dark realms where your trial is gonna be and when your done, the system will give you
Your status the status is only visible to you though I'm sure Serena already told you everything" Alice said her voice professional.
Isaac nodded and Alice went towards where the button to release the special chains around the black portal.
As Alice released the chains Isaac glanced at Serena she still had her cold and stoic demeanor our eyes met as I gave a nod and Serena gave me a nod.
"Are you ready?" Alice said her voice laced with concern and professionalism "yes I'm sure" Isaac said.
"Alright be careful" I sighed and then before Isaac could step in Serena tossed isaac an estoc Isaac glanced at it and Said "thank you"
Serena simply nodded and Isaac finally stepped in.
