Mystery Adventure – Episode 2: "Beginner's Quest (???)"
Scene resumes in Undaunted Village. Snow falls lightly. The MC follows a robed figure through narrow, frost-covered stone paths.
Mael (suspiciously eyeing MC):
"…What are you doing here?"
MC (grinning, stretching arms):
"Oh! Finally, a beginner quest NPC! Thought I'd never find you in this huge town."
Mael twitches.
Beginner… quest?
He eyes the MC's ragged clothes — snow-covered, worn-out starter armor. No aura. No pressure. Nothing.
Mael (thinking):
"…That's impossible. This is Undaunted Village… a zone locked to Level 400 and above. And yet he… casually walked in?"
MC (smiling naively):
"This the part where you give me a starter sword or food, right?"
Mael narrows his eyes, then sighs. He turns and gestures calmly.
Mael:
"Come. I'll… prepare your 'starter gear.'"
MC:
"Nice! Told you this game had good immersion!"
Cut to a dim, candle-lit room. Mael stirs something in a black pot — boiling, bubbling. The smell is… strange.
Mael:
"Here. Eat."
MC (grinning):
"Oh nice! First cooked food quest. I bet this restores HP!"
Without hesitation, the MC slurps the soup down. Mael watches, stunned.
Mael (thinking):
"…Even high-level adventurers wouldn't dare eat random food from strangers… unless… he truly is…"
MC (mouth full):
"Yo, this tastes like cursed goblin feet… but it's warm."
Mael (muttering):
"…He's definitely a beginner. But why here of all places?"
MC (mouth full):
What.. is your name.. old man?
Mael stands tall, holding his staff. Shadows flicker from the fire.
Mc: What is your name old man?
Mael:
"I am Mael, lea—"
He pauses. A slip. His eye twitches.
MC (tilting head):
"Lea…der?"
Mael (awkward cough):
"—Ehem! Just Mael. A humble… villager mage."
He quickly changes the subject.
Mael:
"So, what brings you to a place… like this?"
MC (confidently):
"Quest, of course! Time to slay 20 bunnies or something. Heh, I'll level up fast."
Mael stares, deadpan. Silence.
Then slowly… a smirk forms.
Mael:
"Oh, brave one… we are in need. Our greatest threat… is a single evil bunny."
MC (laughing):
"Only one!? Pfft. Not even 20? Alright, easy EXP!"
A glowing system window appears before the MC.

Location: Unknown Eastern Forest
Weakness: Divine-tier magic (0.08% spawn rate in this forest)

MC (squinting):
"…Wait… why's the weakness so specific? Divine tier? And 0.08% spawn chance?? Is this an April Fool's quest!?"
Mael (smiling, hiding laughter):
"Oh no, brave adventurer. This is… your destiny."
MC gulps, then laughs nervously.
MC:
"Well… a quest is a quest!"
Mael:
"Wait—take this sword and armor. You'll need it."
Screen cuts to black. Text fades in slowly.
"To him, it was just a bunny. To the world… it was a nightmare."
