Chapter 29 - new friend

"Alright. Let's get out of this creepy place," said Arya in a calm but firm voice.

"Okay," they replied in unison.

"Gamma, can you wrap the bodies of these three women with your threads?" Arya handed him a piece of cloth. "Use this too."

"Got it, bro Arya!" exclaimed Gamma. He immediately knelt down, his nimble little fingers starting to spin threads and carefully wrap the now-cold bodies.

Moments later, he stood up. "Done, bro."

"Thank you." Arya lifted one of the bodies. "Dina, Venus, can you carry the other two?"

"Alright," they both replied without hesitation.

Arya turned to the prisoners who were now standing frozen. "Come on. Follow us."

They stepped out of the mansion a place where nightmares no longer lingered but had flowed out with the blood yet to dry.

As soon as they reached the first floor, the prisoners' steps halted. The world seemed to freeze for a moment.

Body parts were scattered across the floor, like meat on a butcher's table. Blood painted the walls and dried between the carpets.

Yet none of them screamed. None vomited.

There was no sympathy in their faces.

Instead, their hollow eyes stared calmly at the horrific scene, as if to say, 'We've seen worse.'

They had. They had endured darker things. And now... they just wanted to walk toward the light, even if that light was still stained with red.

Some victims were finally sent home to those who still had families and a place to return to.

Tears fell, not from sorrow, but from overwhelming joy.

Parents hugged their children while thanking Arya's group endlessly.

But among the crowd, two children stood still. Blank stares, trembling bodies.

Arya turned to them. "You... don't have a place to go home to?" he asked softly.

"N-No... my parents are dead," answered the boy weakly.

"My parents too..." said the little girl beside him, lowering her head.

Gamma looked at Arya hopefully. "Big bro, so... what do we do?"

"Send them to another city? Maybe to Belmera Kingdom, which is peaceful now," suggested Venus.

"But... will their trauma heal in a foreign place?" Dina looked uncertain.

Arya took a deep breath and looked at the two children. "Would you like to come with us?"

They were shocked. "Eh?!"

"I see... potential in you," said Arya, kneeling in front of them. His gaze was gentle but firm.

"P-Potential?!" They stared at him in confusion.

"Seriously, Ar?!" Dina could hardly believe it.

"Yes. But... before that, may I know your names?" Arya smiled slightly. "Let's move first from here."

They walked to the forest where they had camped before, Because Raius and Yui can't use magic yet, they have to Walk

When we arrived in the forest.

Arya looked at Raius and Yui. "So, what are your names? And how old are you?Arya asked softly while looking into their eyes.

"My name is Raius... ten years old," the boy answered nervously.

"M-My name is Yui! Also ten years old!" said the girl, just as nervous.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Arya," he said, introducing himself while pointing to his companions. "The pretty woman with blue hair is Dina, the one with golden hair is Gamma, and the one with purple hair who looks... suspicious, is Venus."

"Nice to meet you," greeted Gamma and Dina warmly.

"N-Nice to meet you..." the two replied shyly.

"Hey, Kid! Beer, please! I wanna drink!" Venus suddenly interrupted lazily.

"Alright." Arya took out two bottles from his storage. "Don't bother us for now. Go."

"Thanks, kid!" Venus walked away cheerfully.

"I want food too, Ar!" whined Dina while rubbing her stomach.

"Here," Arya replied, handing over food from his magic storage.

"Thanks!" Dina walked away humming.

"Bro Arya, bring out the vehicle! I wanna lie down!" Gamma stretched.

"Yeah, yeah..." Arya opened his storage again and brought out the vehicle.

"Thanks bro Arya!" Gamma jumped in.

Raius and Yui could only stand still.

"…Are they always like this?" Raius whispered to Yui.

Yui nodded slowly. "…Looks like our lives are gonna get weirder from now on."

"What are you waiting for? Get in."

Arya's voice was soft but clear, as if welcoming two souls who had been in darkness for too long.

"C-Can we?" they asked almost in unison, voices filled with hesitation.

Arya nodded, his smile calming. "Of course. We'll talk more comfortably inside."

They stepped forward slowly, as if still not believing that the world behind that door could truly accept them. "Excuse us..." they whispered so quietly it was barely audible.

At that moment, Gamma, with the cheerful spirit of a child, grabbed Yui's hand.

"Come on in! We're friends now!" she said brightly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Yui turned, surprised. "F-Friends?"

Her small voice trembled, as if that word was too foreign to say.

Gamma just tilted her head with a big smile, then turned to Arya. "We're friends now, right, Bro Arya?!"

Arya's gaze softened. He saw those two children as a reflection of Gamma's painful past, but still carrying light.

"Yes," he replied. "You are friends."

In his heart, he added, "Finally... Gamma has friends her own age."

"Yay! See?" Gamma immediately pulled Yui's hand and led her into the vehicle with burning spirit.

Arya then turned to Raius, who still stood frozen at the door.

"You too, Raius. Please come in."

The boy bowed deeply. "T-Thank you so much..."

His steps were hesitant, but filled with hope.

Inside the vehicle's living room, the atmosphere felt warm—far from the cold walls of the place where they were rescued. Arya stood in the center, looking at each face that now became part of his life.

"Alright. Is everyone here?"

"Yes!" they answered in unison, their voices echoing softly in the cabin.

Arya nodded. He took a deep breath and began to speak.

"First of all, I want you to know why we're here. Our goal is simple: to overthrow corrupt rulers. Even if it means facing the king himself... then he too must fall."

Raius raised his head, eyes full of confusion. "But... why did you bring us?"

"Because you have potential."

Arya said it without doubt, as if his conviction was written in the stars.

"Potential?" Raius muttered. "If we had potential... why did our parents have to die? Why did we have to suffer?"

His voice cracked, his body started to tremble.

Arya approached and knelt to his level. "Because potential... is not a guarantee of safety. But if trained, if guided, potential can become power. Power to protect."

He gently touched Raius' shoulder. "Your gift is Barrier."

"B-Barrier?" Raius looked confused.

"What's that, Bro Arya?" Gamma asked, curious.

"As the name implies, a power to create barriers. It can protect from both physical and magical attacks. A rare ability that can save many lives."

Suddenly, Venus appeared from her room, swaying while holding a bottle. "Hoo~ Barrier, huh? That's rare... Even Seven Eclipse prefers attacking to defending."

She chuckled lightly before disappearing back into her room.

"Even if I really have that power... I still couldn't save my parents..."

Raius lowered his head, silent tears falling.

Arya gently patted his head. "That's why you need to learn. We will train you... so that no one else has to experience the loss you did."

Then he looked at Yui.

"You too, Yui. Your gift is Healing."

Yui's eyes widened. "What...?! But if I really had that ability... why couldn't I save them...? My parents... they just needed help... back then..."

Her voice broke. Her tears fell, slowly flowing like old wounds finally reopening.

"Yui-chan..."

Gamma hugged her tightly, her little hands trying to share the warmth they both had longed for.

Dina walked closer, whispering softly.

"Ar... is it true they have that kind of gift? That's a rare power. It hurts seeing them find out only after everything's too late."

Arya looked up at the ceiling for a moment, then smiled faintly.

"I know it's painful, but... that's reality. Sometimes gifts only appear when we're at the edge of despair. Just like Gamma."

Gamma turned with shining eyes.

"Yes..." she said softly. "I was disappointed too back then. But I finally understood. My power to vanish... isn't for escaping, but for saving."

Arya turned back to the two children.

"Now I want to know... will you trust me? Join us?"

Raius bit his lip, then asked in a quiet voice, "If we join... what can we do?"

Arya smiled again. "Good question. Yui will heal those who are hurt prisoners, allies, anyone. And you, Raius, will become a shield. A protector. You will both become an important part of this team."

Their eyes widened. For the first time since the tragedy... they felt needed. Felt that their lives had meaning.

"W-We... please take us in..."

Their voices were soft, but full of resolve.

Arya nodded firmly. "Welcome. But... it seems we need two more rooms."

"Yui can sleep in my room!" shouted Gamma, raising her hand.

Arya chuckled. "No, each of you deserves privacy. I'll make new rooms."

Before he could move, whining came from the kitchen.

"Ar~ I'm hungry! More food, please!" complained Dina, hugging her stomach.

"My beer's out too!" added Venus from afar. "Please~!"

Arya sighed deeply.

"No! Wait until dinner!"

"Ehhh?! Meanie!" both shouted in unison.

Arya rubbed his face in frustration.

"Feels like I'm the dad of all these kids..."

Two hours later, the additional rooms for Yui and Raius were complete and cozy. Arya had even teleported to several cities to buy the best beds and furniture he could find. He knew... this was the beginning of a new home for them.

Night passed.

After the blood, tears, and scars that had darkened the skies yesterday, now sunlight slowly filtered through the trees. Birds began to sing, and the morning air carried the scent of new life.

Inside the vehicle, soft laughter began to echo awkward, but genuine. Laughter from those slowly starting to heal.

Raius and Yui were no longer orphans with no purpose. They were now part of something greater.

And for the first time since their loss... they began to believe the world was still worth fighting for.
