Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Rest and Recuperation.

Chapter 12: Rest and Recuperation.

"What happened?"

Uchiha Uran remained silent for a moment. He took in the changes in his surroundings, then saw the giant bear's tragic death. Suddenly, a glimpse of understanding dawned on him. He didn't know the bear had licked his blood, and the lack of effective treatment had damaged its genetic chain, but judging by the current situation, it was dead.

And he was alive.

"Ahem."

Closing his eyes, he began to gently circulate his spirit power, but this was followed by a painful convulsion.

He had already mastered the cultivation of spirit power by heart. He had previously been frantically overdrawing it to increase his speed, but now the consequences had finally come.

Every movement of spirit power caused pain throughout his body, and forcing it to cultivate was like a knife, causing him to sweat profusely, with no results.

However, after this opportunity to transcend life and death, he felt that his spirit power bottleneck had been broken. Judging from his previous level, he should now have reached level 12. It was a complete surprise; after all, he had never thought he would survive.

While this was certainly exciting, just as he managed to pull up a smile, the strain on his muscles tore open his wound. The pain was unimaginable to others.

"This risky trip has cost me a lot of money."

"Alas!"

He could see it coming. The moment he moved, blood would immediately begin to spurt, an unstoppable flow. But he was starving and thirsty, and he didn't know how many days he had been unconscious.

If he didn't eat, he might not see the sun again. With no other options, Uchiha Uran struggled to extract water and food from his spirit guide. Enduring the excruciating pain, he ate a little and then pulled out a small box.

Inside was some urgently needed medical supplies. He then stripped off his clothes and began to clean the wound, disinfect it, and bandage it.

A quarter of an hour later,

Uchiha Uran finished, taking out a paper-thin snow silk blanket and roughly spreading it on the ground. Then he lay down again and passed out.

The constant tingling pain from the treatment had made him a bit nervous, not to mention the immense pressure he'd been under before: the threat of death, the drying up of his soul power meridians, the constant surprise of increased soul power. Now, finally, he could rest well.

In his dreams, he felt as if he were back in his clan's land, free from the radiation damage from the nuclear fallout, a normal soul master. His parents were still alive, and he had a younger brother, a tiny creature the size of a dumpling. He held his newborn brother in his arms, a surge of pride rising in his heart as he gazed at the tiny child before him.

"From now on, you're my Ou Doudou, understand?"

The next moment, the scene shifted to a hall, where he and a woman were married in a grand ceremony. Sadly, no matter how hard he strained, he couldn't make out the blurry face beneath the wedding dress.

The scene shifted again, and he had become a frail old man, with a large family, all renowned and influential figures across the continent. After uttering his final words of instruction, he breathed his last.

It seemed as if this had been the life of the spirit master Uchiha Uranium.

Ever since the wedding scene, he could sense that he had shifted from a first-person perspective to a third-person one, observing Uchiha Uranium's old age from above. This novelty filled him with excitement, yet also with unease.

If he hadn't awakened his radiation eyes, perhaps this would have been his entire life, unfolding before his eyes from birth to death.

Suddenly, the scene froze.

Then, in the boy's gaze, the scene began to flow backwards, from those words to the image of Uchiha Uranium sitting upright in a chair, and finally, gazing up at the sky.

Watching Uchiha Uranium's actions, the boy felt a strange emotion well up within him.

He couldn't tell whether it was a reflection on Uchiha Uranium's life or a lament for his own arrival. This movie-like scene, like a movie playing, felt more and more off as time went on.

Time stopped flowing backward, then continued forward as before. The scene shifted again to Uchiha Uranium, giving his final words of instruction.

He didn't die, but instead suddenly raised his head and gazed towards the young man. His dark eyes shone with an unparalleled brilliance, yet the others in the scene remained silent.

"Hmm?"

The two men gazed at each other, transcending the dream. The young man could see himself in the old man's eyes, and he imagined the other man seeing the same.

However, there was something eerie about the two Uchiha Uraniums staring at each other. After a long pause, Uchiha Uranium averted his gaze, returning his gaze to his children and grandchildren. A slightly hoarse voice rang out, as if addressing all of his descendants: "You, can forge a unique path, right?"

With that, he closed his eyes, succumbing to his last breath. His aging body slumped, slumping back into a chair, his departure from the world.

Soon after, the hall was filled with sobs. Uchiha Uranium's life had come to a complete end.

The young man stood outside the mourning hall, looking at the photos inside, unconsciously rubbing his face.

He began to understand what had just happened. He had traveled through time, and logically, two souls should be competing for one body.

But he sensed that he had been born directly, and the baby should not have been aware of its own death. Yet, the strange yet haunting scene before him showed him that anything was possible on Douluo Continent.

He remained silent. If he was right, the old man was the real Uchiha Uranium, and his life was the one he was meant to live. It was only his arrival that had changed everything, hence his claim that he could forge a different path.

"Is that so?"

With a sigh, Uchiha Uranium closed his eyes. The bizarre memories ended, and what followed was a true dream.

In his dream, he was omnipotent, trampling on hundred-thousand-year-old spirit beasts, punching the gods of the divine realm, crushing even the Shrek of the Spirit Hall, maintaining the largest harem, and living the most unrealistic dreams.

Awakening, the difficult life continued. Suddenly, in his dream, he thought of this phrase, and then he was startled awake.

The moon was bright, the stars were sparse, and the surroundings were dead silent. Uchiha Uranium turned around, but found nothing of note, which filled him with disappointment.

However, due to his sudden awakening, he discovered that his meridians had almost fully recovered. As expected, soul masters have a strong self-repair ability. After just one day, the overdrawn meridians had almost recovered. Perhaps this was also due to his frequent intake of meridian-cleansing pills.

Before awakening his soul power, he had always taken meridian-cleansing pills. While they didn't increase his soul power, they significantly increased his cultivation speed.

However, he stopped taking them after awakening his soul power. According to his father, they were worried that taking them would weaken his soul power foundation.

Even if the pills could increase his soul power level by several levels, it would still take a long time to consolidate his soul power. Not to mention that taking too many pills is a toxic drug, and the accumulated toxicity is not small.

His father would definitely prepare some elixirs for him to improve his soul power in the future, but they weren't something he could take right now.

"Forget it, nothing much, and I can't sleep either, so I'll just practice my soul power."

Uchiha Uranium smiled, closed his eyes, and began to practice his soul power.
