Chapter 3 - [Lost Memories] Chapter 2

The white-haired man, holding a black stone in his hand, stood among the coming and going crowd, feeling uneasy.

His gaze rested on the door of a house on the street. There was a black stone, as tall as a person, shaped like the one in his hand. And on that stone was carved the word "hide".

 It was a model.

The white-haired man is still hesitating. He did not know if the model of the stone was a call, a call to all who owned the black hidden word stone. But he could not recall anything about the stone. He did not know why he had it, nor what it was for.

"Go ahead and verify your identity." " A voice said in its heart.

"My identity? Who am I?" He lowered his head to look at the stone in his hand. "Is this stone my symbol?"

"Go and ask who I am."

The steps began to move. Guessing in my heart what kind of person I am, how many people have such a stone, and whether it is a mysterious organization.

 I can't recall anything.

One foot is about to step into the open door of the house. Inside the door was an empty room with only one chair. The man in the chair looked up at the white-haired man, his face looking somewhat excited.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed the white-haired man's hand from behind and wrapped the black stone as well.

"Brother, why are you running around again? It's time to take the medicine. Come back with me quickly. The doctor says the illness won't get better without the medicine. Be good and come home with me to take the medicine." The man in black grabbed the white-haired man's hand and pulled him back.

The white-haired man turned his head to look at him and said, "Who is your brother? Are we familiar?"

"Who knows you, you curse star?" The man in black thought to himself, but with a smile on his face, "Brother, come back with me quickly. The doctor said you must take your medicine on time."

The man in the room came over and asked the black-clad man angrily, "What do you do?" What are you making a fuss about?"

The white-haired man tried to break free from the black-clad man's hand, but the black-clad man stood in front of him, nodded apologetically to the approaching man, and deliberately lowered his voice, saying, "I'm sorry, my brother has had a brain injury since he was a child and often runs around. I'm sorry to disturb you. I'll take him home to get his medicine right away."

"Your brain is broken?" The man stared at the white-haired man.

"Yes, I fell off the carriage and my brain was broken. You see, he's so young and his hair has turned white. The doctor says this is a sign of brain necrosis. I'm sorry to disturb you. We're leaving right away."

The white-haired man was about to speak when the black-clad man turned his head and gave him a wink.

"Sorry to disturb you." The black-clad man said, pulling the white-haired man away.

Back on the bustling street, the man in black still held the hand of the man with white hair and the stone in his hand. The white-haired man shook off his hand and glared at him, saying, "Have you had enough trouble? Now neither of us owes the other."

The man in black, still grinning, looked around at the crowd and said, "It's not convenient to talk here. Come with me." With that, he turned and left. After several steps, when he turned back, the white-haired man was still standing there. He came back and said, "I really don't understand why I had to save you. If you don't believe me, you can go back to that house now."

The white-haired man nodded. "Come on, I'll follow you."

The black-clad man led the white-haired man through the crowd to the city tower on the east side of the city. The white-haired man looked at the open city gate and asked, "Shall we leave the city?"

"Don't ask, just follow me. It's not safe anywhere in the city."

Two of them went out of town.

Further ahead was a black ruin. Broken walls and overgrown weeds outline the silhouette of an old city. Faint traces of the towers and the noble and intricate engravings on the stone floors can still be seen. The ruins of this ancient city are about half the size of the city of Wangshen.

"Here, safe?" The white-haired man asked.

The man in black walked a few more steps into the ruins and found a stone to sit down on. "Yes, it's safe here. Although there are no high walls to cover it up, no one comes here even during the day. Because it is said that this place is often haunted."

The white-haired man had a layer of sweat on his palms.

"Come here and sit down and speak." The man in black stretched comfortably.

The white-haired man went over but did not sit down. He pointed to the stone on which the black-clad man was sitting and said, "There are words on it."

The man in black moved slightly and lowered his head. Brush off the yi grain on the stone with your hand  frost strider father xin nao zheng hao? #8226; Epitaph.

"Oh my god, this is a tombstone. What bad luck!" The man in black frowned and cursed, but had no intention of changing his seat.

"Tell me, about this stone." The white-haired man handed over the stone.

The man in black took the stone and turned it in his palm. "Hehe, it's in my hand again." He said half-jokingly, "If I had known, I wouldn't have been fighting for dust."

Do you know anything? The white-haired man had no intention of joking with him.

"I don't know anything about it, but I know you can't take this stone to that house. Half a month ago, I followed a client around the city of Wangshen for half a day, and finally he stood in front of that house in a daze for quite a while before walking in."

 "What's wrong?"

"I followed too, but didn't come in. From a distance, I saw the client hand something to the man in the house - now I think he handed over a stone with words on it - and then several men with swords came out from behind the door, my client..." The man in black did not go on.

"You mean they deliberately led the man who owned the stone away, and then... Kill?"

"That's what I think for now."

But why did they do that? The white-haired man looked somewhat puzzled.

The man in black lowered his head and rubbed his knees with his hands. "Don't ask me this question. If you want to know, just go back to that house and ask."

"Well, why did you save me?"

"I don't know why I saved you either. Maybe I was out of my mind. You don't know that when I tricked that man into saying you were my brother, my heart rate shot up to the peak. I'm still young and haven't enjoyed many of the wonderful things in the world, like being in love, like..."

"Well, thank you." The white-haired man clearly didn't want to hear him go on rambling.

"No thanks, no thanks. It's just bad luck to make a friend."

"Bad luck?" The black-clad man's words always take the white-haired man by surprise.

"Yes, bad luck. I almost lost my life for you. I'm still young and haven't enjoyed many wonderful things yet. I'm Lianwu. What's your name?" The man in black kept his head down as he spoke, looking absent-minded.

 "My name, I don't know."

"I don't know? The name is fresh..." The man in black laughed. "No, you mean you don't know your name?"

"Yes, I don't know my name."

"It's fresher, not even knowing my own name."

"I... I have lost my memory." It took me a long time to think of the word "amnesia".

Lienwu flipped the stone in his hand and said, "I think you must be from some kind of organization. The name of your organization should be "Zang", and "Gu You" should be your name.

"Then why isn't my name 'Zang'?"

"Just one word? How ambiguous that is, a bit mushy."

Could it be "Zang Guyou"? "Is Zang a surname?"

"This name is really unpleasant. I think 'Gu You' is better. Two characters are simpler than three." The man in black spoke with great confidence. He returned the stone to the white-haired man and said, "Put it in place and you'll have a name," Gu You. Though your name is a few times more unpleasant than mine, you should learn to face reality with strength."

Gu You nodded slightly and stuffed the stone into his belt. He had no pockets on his clothes and could only put things here.

In the distance, at the edge of the ruins of the ancient city, four knights in silver armor were patrolling.

Gu You suddenly recalled the incident a few days ago when he was attacked by a knight while asking for directions. He couldn't figure out why the knight would kill him for no reason. He asked Lian Wu, "Who exactly are those knights?"

Lianwu did not look up, seemingly unaware of the knights on the edge of the ruins. He doesn't want to say either: "They are the Knights of Light, the guards of the holy city. But they are also trash knights. I've heard a catchy rhyme, "Knight of Light, kill with one strike." Just as he finished speaking, a burst of hearty laughter broke out.

The four riders seemed to have heard it, grabbed their horses and looked this way.

"Is it necessary to be so loud?" "Gu You said.

"It's okay, it's okay. There aren't even ghosts here. It's fine to talk about it. Say it with me, Knight of Light, one strike and you're dead. Knights of Light, one strike, one death..." As he spoke, he laughed unrestrainedly.

The knights, slapping their horses, tried to come out of the ruins.

Gu You stopped about ten meters away from Lian Wu and said to him, "They heard."

"They?" Who are they?" Lian Wu was still laughing.

 "They're coming."

When Lian Wu noticed the knights, they had already surrounded him. "You brat, what did you say just now?" One of the leaders asked.

"Gu You, why didn't you tell me there was a knight?" Lian Wu shouted.

"I told you not to be so loud."

The leading knight said, "Stop all this nonsense, lad. Are you tired of life?"

"Gu You, aren't you good at fighting? Why are you running so far? Help!"

The knights drew their long swords. Lian Wu hurriedly said, "No..." Don't do that. Let's talk nicely. I'm not asking him for help. I mean to ask him to hand over all the money and treat everyone to tea... Don't... Don't do it..."

"Today we're going to see who's killed with one strike." The leading knight raised his long sword.

"No... Don't kill me... I'll tell you who killed the Red Robe Bishop... Don't kill me..."

The knight calmed down. "Say, who is it? If you talk nonsense... I think you know what the consequences will be."

"It was him, it was he who killed the Red-robed bishop." Lian Wu pointed to Gu You.

The leader of the knights turned his head to look at Gu You, and then said to the other three knights, "Watch this lad." Having said that, he pulled the REINS and walked towards Gu You on his warhorse.

The remaining three knights surrounded Lian Wu in the middle. What was worse was that one of the horses pointed its beak at Lian Wu's face and from time to time spat out a mist of gas. Lienwu held his breath with all his might, but the horse blew its breath with all its might. Lianwu turned his face to one side, and the horse came over smugly and sprayed moist, slightly warm gas on Lianwu's face, making him feel sick in waves.

Lianwu cursed in his heart, really wanting to slap this hateful stinky horse in the face. But because of the majesty of the rider on the horse, he had to hold back his anger.

"If it weren't for your master having a weapon, I would have swollen your mouth today."

At last, Lienwu could no longer bear it and shouted to the knight, "Knight, your horse has bad breath, will you get rid of it?"

"Shut up!" The knights' long swords were a few inches closer to him.

On the other side, the knight approached Gu You. Gu You hurriedly waved his hand and explained, "He's talking nonsense. I didn't kill anyone."

The knight saw the blood clot in Gu You's hair as he swayed. "Come with us obediently and don't waste too much of my time and energy," he said.

"I didn't kill anyone. Why should I go with you?" Gu You took a few steps back. He felt guilty because he had killed a man dressed the same as the knight in front of him, though he had been rude first.

"Don't quibble, or you'll die." " The knight said, but the long sword was already drawn out.

Gu You took another step back, suddenly crouched down, and picked up a stick as thick as an arm and as long as a person from among the weeds. He let out a low growl, grabbed the stick and swept it across. The stick landed heavily on the side of the horse, and the warhorse was knocked over by the powerful force. The knight's body rolled over to the ground and rolled around. Just as he grabbed the hilt and stood up, the stick swept over again and hit him on the side of the head. The helmet was knocked off, a few streaks of blood slid down the knight's forehead, and then he toppled over.

"Ha ha, it's fighting, it's fighting, go and help your boss!" "Lian Wu clapped his hands and slapped that annoying horse again.

The three riders, no longer caring about Lian Wu, charged towards Gu You.

Lianwu picked up a stone and tried to smash the knight, but when he held it in his hand and weighed it, it was too heavy. So he switched to a smaller stone and threw it out with an exaggerated wave of his hand.

The stone flew towards the back of one of the knights' heads, but flew past the edge of the head and landed on Gu You.

"Oh, what a lousy trick!" Saying this, Lianwu crouched down again to look for stones of the right size.

The stone landed on Gu You, who swung his stick and struck the stone. The stone bounced back and struck a knight hard on the head. Despite being protected by a helmet, the knight was still wounded and his body fell backward like a kite with a broken string, leaving his warhorse behind.

Then, Gu You crouched down and made another close sweep to the ground. A warhorse's leg bone creaked and fell down. Before the rider could hit the ground, his head was struck by a stick and he fell to the ground motionless.

The last rider's warhorse leg got stuck in a pit in the ruins and he fell down, and the rider was flung very high by inertia. After landing on the ground, the knight, without even picking up his sword, rolled and crawled in the direction of Wangshen City. Lian Wu seized the moment to stand in front of the knight and said with a sinister smile, "Aren't you just so mighty?" He raised his fist and landed it on the knight's head.

The helmet was struck with a muffled sound, and Lianwu rubbed his right hand with his left hand, his face turning extremely ugly.

The knight also raised his fist, realizing that the man in front of him was easier to bully, but forgetting that there was an enemy behind him.

Before he could swing his fist, the stick knocked him to the ground.

Lianwu kicked the knight on the ground and said, "I haven't used my ultimate move yet. How could you fall?" Gu You, you are so ungracious. You have already knocked down three knights. You must keep one for me at all costs." Saying this, he crouched down and touched the tip of the knight's nose with his finger.

"What are you doing?" Gu You threw down the stick and asked.

Lian Wu did not answer, but went up to the other three knights and did the same to each of them.

What are you doing? Gu You walked over.

Lian Wu pointed at the knight beneath his feet and said, "These four men are still breathing. Why don't you add a few more strokes?"

"Kill?" I don't want to kill."

"If you don't kill them today, they won't let us off if they recognize us later. I'm fine. I'm handsome but rather ordinary. And you, look at yourself, white hair, white eyes. Such obvious features, so odd, it's hard for you to expect them to forget you."

"I don't kill." Gu You said stubbornly.

"As you please. Anyway, you'll have to be more careful in the future." Lianwu hooked a helmet on the ground with the tip of his foot and kicked it up. The helmet was kicked away, making a series of soft clanging sounds in the uneven pile of rocks.

 "Now, what shall we do?"

"Now, bury them," said Lianwu with a smile that curved the corners of his mouth.

Gu You suspected that he had not heard clearly, "Buried alive?"

Lian Wu grabbed Gu You by the shoulder and said, "Just kidding you. Let's get out of here right now, or we'll have another fight before their accomplices arrive."

Gu You nodded, removed the hand from his shoulder and said, "I'll go with you."

Lian Wu led Gu You in the opposite direction of the city, along the indistinct path among the tall grass, all the way to the forest made up of countless towering trees.

"Where are we going?" Gu You had thought that the ball would take him to another city, but now it seemed that they were far away from human life.

"Here we are, home." Lian Wu stopped beside a trunk thick enough for five people to embrace.

"Home?" Gu You searched in his mind, suspecting that the meaning of "home" in his mind was wrong. He thought "home" was a house, but the "home" that Lianwu was referring to was a forest without people.

 "Yes, home." "Lian Wu said.

 What is home?

This question made Lianwu blush. He stammered, "Home, home... Home is... It's just a place to live."

Gu Youxiang thought that the interpretation of "home" in his mind was not wrong. But why does Lian Wu live in a forest instead of a house?

Lianwu whispered, "It's time for you to go to elementary school to catch up on some cultural knowledge."

Perhaps some people like to live in the forest, like Lienwu, who is a complete oddball. Gu You thought and sat down under a big tree, saying, "I'm tired and want to sleep."

"Will you sleep here?" It was Lienwu who was surprised.

"Didn't you say you're home?" Gu You stood up.

Lian Wu pointed to the top of the tree and said, "Home is up there." Let's go. I've been tired all day. It's time to rest." Saying that, Lian Wu grabbed the rough tree trunk with both hands as if climbing up. Although the trunk stretched straight up, Lianwu moved as freely as walking on flat ground.

"Hey, I can't climb a tree." Gu You stroked the trunk and shouted to Lian Wu, who had climbed nearly ten meters high.

With his hands in vain and his feet tight on the trunk, he still failed to regain his balance and fell off the tree. In the air, he spun half a circle and then landed smoothly in the grass. The movements were very skillful.

Linwu stood up and shouted, "Do you say everything in one go?" Don't hit me when I'm high up there. It's very dangerous!"

"I can't climb trees." Gu said.

Lian Wu thought and said, "It's all messed up. It's all messed up. How did you come with me to my house? We don't seem very familiar, do we? Since you're here, you could have invited me over for tea, but you can't climb trees. It's getting late, so go back early. Stay in a hotel in the city, where the environment is elegant and comfortable. Go, hurry up."

 "But I have no money."

Lianwu covered his eyes and muttered to himself, "Oh my god, why do you treat me like this? I didn't have a bad dream last night, but why is it so unlucky today? The client I had been looking at for a long time was a pauper, and I was so nervous that I saved him, but in the end, he actually asked me for money..."

"Are you a thief?" Gu You finally brought up the question.

"Thief?" I'm not a thief. I'm an assassin." Lian Wu pulled out a small money bag from his pocket, pinched the bottom of the bag with one hand, and poured two round, red, transparent stone pieces from the money bag onto the other hand. He handed the red shard to Gu You and said, "Take it, save some money. I wish I wouldn't run into you again next time."

 "So little?"

"Less?" Lian Wu felt dizzy. "This is a red magic crystal. One can be exchanged for a hundred blue magic crystals, which is equivalent to a hundred dollars. I worked hard for more than half a year to save this much, and you say it's too little? It's time for you to go to the nursery class for extra lessons."

"Oh, one, one hundred." Gu You repeated, holding the blue magic crystal in his hand, "I'll give it back to you."

"No, never. It's best to forget me right away."

"Well... Goodbye." After saying that, Gu You walked in the direction he had come.

"Goodbye? It would be best to say goodbye forever." Lianwu pouted and muttered in a low voice.
