Chapter 3 - Inheritance of Thunder

Just when Chen Feng thought the matter had ended, his grandfather suddenly opened his mouth again.

"I almost forgot," said Chen Zhan, tapping his fingers on the table with a smile. "Fenger… it's time you begin learning the family heritage."

The entire hall went silent.

Even Chen Feng's father, Chen Xiao, was visibly stunned.

"Father," said the eldest uncle, Chen Ding, frowning slightly. "Isn't this… too soon?"

"Yes," added the second uncle, Chen Li, calmly. "He just awakened his power today. Perhaps give him some time first."

They all knew what "family heritage" meant.

It wasn't just some casual cultivation technique.

It was the Thunder God Creation Body—a powerful body-tempering skill that had made Chen Zhan famous across Daxia. It was a technique he had spent decades perfecting. Not only was it extremely rare, it was also personally created by him.

And until now, he had never passed it down completely to anyone.

Not even his three sons.

It was also no secret that among the three sons, only Chen Xiao had awakened a thunder-related superpower—though it was A-rank, it still matched well with the family's lightning legacy.

Giving this technique to Chen Feng…

It meant Chen Zhan had chosen him as the future successor.

Chen Feng stood silent, eyes steady, but his heart was pounding.

"Thunder God Creation Body? Isn't that the same technique mentioned in the original memories?"

He remembered now—his grandfather had created it in three versions:

S-rank: The beginner foundation version.

SS-rank: Intermediate body refinement.

SSS-rank: The complete, full-power version—only cultivable by top-tier thunder-type Awakeners at least S level thunder talent required.

This was an SSS-rank Body Technique, known across the six nations. If word got out, even large organizations might try to snatch or copy it.

And now, he was going to be its successor.

Chen Xiao looked at his father, conflicted. "Father… he's only Lower First Level. The Thunder God Creation Body is dangerous, even in its S-rank form."

But Chen Zhan simply waved his hand. "That's why I'll teach him personally. This is the best time to build his foundation. So what if his level is low? He can start small. Fenger, come to my training hall tonight. I'll begin passing it to you myself."

Chen Feng finally spoke, bowing with both hands. "Yes, Grandfather!"

Although he tried to stay calm, his voice had a slight tremble of excitement.

"SSS-level technique… my first real skill… and it's self-created by a top expert?!"

After a bit more talk, the family gathering ended.

The uncles left quietly, their expressions unreadable.

Chen Xiao said nothing, only patting his son's shoulder as they walked out. His eyes were soft, yet deep in thought.

That evening, Chen Feng returned to his luxurious private room—a wide space with blackwood floors, a crystal chandelier, and a sofa that could swallow a man whole.

He dropped onto the sofa with a deep sigh.

"Phew… that was a lot today."

He stretched his arms and then casually called out, "Status."

A familiar transparent blue screen floated into view.

[Status]

Name: Chen Feng

Level: Lower First Level

Power: Blue Sky Thunder (S-rank)

Physique: 283 Qi & Blood

Spirit: 289 Hertz

Skills: Marksmanship

Power Points: 0

Chen Feng tapped his chin, thinking aloud.

"Hmm… this Power Points thing… what exactly is it used for?"

He tried asking the system.

"Hello? System?"

No reply.

"Explain Power Points?"

Still no reply.

He frowned.

"Tch. Doesn't talk?"

He poked the screen, waved his hand—nothing.

"So it's not like those cheat systems in novels that hold your hand and flirt with you..."

After a few more tries, he gave up and slumped back.

"Guess I'll have to figure it out myself."

He thought for a moment.

"Power Points… maybe I can buy skills or techniques with them later?"

Then his mind wandered a little.

He smirked.

"Wait... in some other types of novels, you get points for… special activities with girls..."

His face darkened.

"No, no, no. That's not this kind of story. My system is called Demigod System, not Villainess Conquest System."

He waved that thought away and refocused.

"This is a world of beasts and superpowers. The most logical way is... defeating enemies or killing beasts to gain Power Points."

That made more sense.

If this system followed classic logic, then Power Points were probably linked to combat—growth through struggle.

"Alright then…" he said, his eyes flashing with determination.

"After learning the Thunder God Creation Body, I'll go hunt some beasts and test this theory."

He leaned back, staring at the ceiling.

Today had been overwhelming, but it had also opened doors he never imagined.

He had awakened two powers. Gained the favor of his powerful grandfather. And was about to learn a legendary technique passed down to only one successor.

This wasn't just a new life—it was a path to godhood.

Chen Feng smiled, slowly closing his eyes as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Tonight, his journey… would truly begin.

Chen Feng woke up groggily on the wide sofa. He had fallen asleep out of excitement after checking his mysterious system. The soft voice of an AI assistant echoed near his ear.

"Young master, it's time. Old Master is waiting."

He opened his eyes and looked at his wrist. A thin, black watch wrapped around it—the Chen Family's latest AI device. It wasn't just a timepiece. This watch connected to the entire Chen Family's network, allowing real-time updates, security access, and communication with any core member. To Chen Feng, it felt like something out of a sci-fi dream.

He quickly straightened his clothes and stepped outside. The fresh evening breeze greeted him as he walked through the massive Chen estate. The Chen family's main residence was like a city on its own—dozens of grand villas, vast gardens, and high-tech training grounds sprawled over thousands of square feet.

Eventually, he reached a quieter area near the back. There stood a majestic villa—his grandfather's private residence.

Old Shan, the loyal old butler, appeared at the door and nodded respectfully. "Young Master Feng, this way. The Old Master is waiting in the training room."

Chen Feng followed him silently up the stairs to the second floor.

The training room was massive—nearly a hundred square meters wide. Weapon racks lined the walls, displaying sabers, spears, guns, and even some ancient martial tools. The scent of old wood and ozone lingered in the air.

Chen Zhan stood in the center, already dressed in a fitted black training uniform. He looked energized, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Feng'er," he said with a proud smile, "before we begin training techniques, let me first see your superpower—Sky Blue Thunder."

Without hesitation, Chen Feng nodded and raised his right hand.

Crackling—!

Sizzle—!

Suddenly, arcs of bluish-purple lightning danced across his body. Thunder rumbled softly, and the air felt thick with static. A powerful electric aura spread throughout the entire room, making even the weapons buzz slightly.
