Chapter 59 - "My Little Angel's Secret"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Andrew's words definitely came off a little… suspicious.

What did he mean, "I'll tell you when we're alone"?

How was that any different from some shady uncle telling a little girl he'd show her his goldfish?

Kato Megumi grumbled to herself, though her expression stayed perfectly calm.

She even nodded and answered evenly,"Sure. Just let me know when you've got the time."

As for the "spirits" he mentioned—she'd never seen anything like that, so she certainly didn't believe they were real.

Most likely, it was just some plot point from a novel Andrew liked.

Since she didn't have many close friends to hang out with, she didn't really mind chatting with him. They could talk about anything… though if he actually started flirting with her for real, that might get a little awkward.

Their conversation ended when the bell rang, and they both sat back in their seats.

At that exact moment, Shinka Nibutani found she couldn't absorb a single word of what the teacher was saying.

The second she heard Andrew say the words "Hori Summer," her brain just… exploded.

Damn it—those humiliating memories from the past came flooding back, and she instantly broke out in goosebumps.

"Mori Summer" was the ridiculous name she'd given herself a year ago, back in her full-blown chuunibyou phase.

"Mori" came from the kun'yomi reading of her surname, and "Summer" was… well, "Mori Summer."

Back then, she was utterly convinced she was a real magician who'd lost her memory and had been alive for 500 years.

She believed she could see spirits, and that if she wore a scarf over her head, she could "listen" to their whispers all day in front of her classmates.

She even thought she could curse people she didn't like—though the spell apparently had to be written out 100 times before it would work.

Now, a year later, having "graduated" from her childish delusions, hearing that name again was like being stabbed straight through the heart.

She'd worked so hard to get into Seijo high Academy, where none of her old middle school classmates knew her. She just wanted to bury those embarrassing years and start fresh.

She'd joined the dance club, become her class rep in her very first year, and quickly turned into one of the most popular girls at school.

And now—out of all people—Andrew had to bring that name back to life. Shinka wanted to crawl under her desk and die.

Her old memories kept hammering at her, and there was no way she could focus on class anymore.

No. She had to find out how Andrew knew that name.

She'd deleted every post she'd ever made online under that persona—so how the hell had this jerk found out?

From Andrew's perspective, though, Shinka's reaction was just a little sideshow.

He'd dropped the "Mori Summer" bomb on purpose, hoping to bait her.

Once she heard her old chuunibyou title, he figured she'd come running to confront him—and maybe even join his little group on her own.

If she didn't, well, that was fine too.

Like the saying goes, a devil's gotta cast his net wide. The more you cast, the more you catch.

By lunchtime, Andrew was eating his bento in the clubroom.

Naturally, fellow club members Mahiru Shiina and Kato Megumi were there too.

Megumi, ever the observant one, glanced at their lunchboxes—identical in every way—and gave them a thoughtful look.

These two were definitely dating. Even their burger boxes matched.

After they'd finished eating, Andrew pulled out his laptop and roped both girls into playing a game with him—

A dating sim, of all things.

Mahiru clicked through the choices, then shot him a weird look."Andrew… don't tell me you learned how to sweet-talk girls from playing games like this?"

"Don't be ridiculous! You think I need to learn that? Nah—you just have to put your heart into it… and maybe use your hands and mouth a little, too."

Mahiru was living proof—his little angel had been his test subject.

(Not that he'd recommend trying it without his own crazy-level recovery ability.)

Mahiru rolled her eyes at him, clearly remembering exactly how he'd "cheered her up" before.

Just thinking about it made her cheeks burn. This guy was way too shameless.

Andrew caught her adorable eye-roll, raised an eyebrow at her, and flashed a mischievous grin.

By tonight, you'll see for yourself whether I've been putting in the effort to win you over.

The two of them were exchanging flirty looks again, and by the time it was Kato Megumi's turn to play, she just felt like the pair was way too noisy.

Andrew's club claimed to be about creating light novels, manga, and games—but honestly, Kato Megumi and Mahiru Shiina were total beginners.

The two girls didn't know the first thing about the tropes or structure of light novels or game manga.

Andrew, for his part, didn't really care. All he wanted was a place to hang out after class and take it easy.

As for whether the angelic Mahiru and Megumi would actually develop a passion for the hobby—well, he wasn't going to force it. Just let things happen naturally.

That afternoon, he spent about an hour gaming with the two girls before the rest of the break turned into a nap session.

Such a laid-back club atmosphere was something Megumi just couldn't wrap her head around.

Mahiru, though, was already fast asleep.

Somehow, Andrew pulled out a thin blanket from… who knows where, and gently draped it over both girls so they wouldn't catch a chill.

In his mind, club activities were meant to be relaxing.

If joining a club started to feel like a chore—if it wore people down—then what was the point of the club existing at all?

Sure, there were always people who thrived on pushing themselves to the limit… but those people were probably destined to be model employees after graduation.

Watching the two girls breathing evenly in their sleep, Andrew's lips curved slightly as he lay down beside them and closed his eyes.

He could still faintly catch a sweet scent in the air—probably from the two of them.

Being a demon came with its perks, and a sharp sense of smell was definitely one of them. He'd mastered the art of identifying a woman by her scent.

When the lunch break ended, the first period of the afternoon was P.E.—and today included the 100-meter sprint test.

Mahiru Shiina took first place without breaking a sweat.

The "sports-all-rounder" title wasn't just for show—she really was that good.

Plus, with her body being subtly nourished by Andrew's magic, it wouldn't be long before her abilities awakened. Her physical condition was naturally better than most other girls.

"Wow, Shiina-san, you run so fast! I could never keep up with that pace," Yui Yuigahama said with wide-eyed admiration.

Compared to Mahiru's flawless figure, Yui suddenly felt like she'd put on a little weight.

Especially in her thighs—they definitely looked thicker than Mahiru's perfectly shaped, slender legs.

"Yeah, that was amazing, Shiina-san! Do you have any tips?" asked Natsume Yuuinchou, stepping up with a look of genuine admiration.

Mahiru waved her hands quickly."Oh, no tips or anything. I just used to get up early to run every day. If you run often enough, you naturally get better at sports."

She really did used to run every morning… but not anymore.

Back then, she pushed herself to excel at everything, always chasing first place, hoping to earn her parents' praise.

But now? That motivation was gone.

Instead, after getting up and washing up, the first thing she did every morning was make breakfast for Andrew.

These days, being warmed both physically and emotionally by him, she felt like she'd slacked off in the exercise department—and worried she might put on weight.

Yet somehow, her body felt even more agile and full of energy than before.

Wait… could those, uh, "activities" she and Andrew did in bed also count as exercise?

Her cheeks heated instantly, and she sneaked a glance at him chatting with the guys across the field.

Then she silently cursed herself.

Ugh, why was she even thinking about that?

He was definitely corrupting her. She was getting… dirtier.

While Mahiru was lost in her thoughts, Yui was quietly stressing out.

Getting up early to run? That was way too hard.

Still… walking her dog should count as exercise, right?

At least, that's what she told herself while sighing at her own soft, chubby thighs.

Her eyes couldn't help but wander back to Mahiru's long, elegant legs, and a touch of envy crept into her gaze.

"..."
