Chapter 222 - Chapter 222

Morgans murmured under his breath with a knowing smile curling at the corners of his beak.

Just then, the office door swung open with a crash.

A breathless subordinate stumbled in, panic written all over his face.

"M-Morgans-sama! Shiki is here!"

For a brief moment, Morgans froze—then his eyes widened before he burst into laughter, wings fluttering with excitement.

"Perfect timing! Hahaha! I've been waiting for him!"

Moments later, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the hall.

Shiki strode into the room, his gaze sharp as a blade as it swept across everyone inside.

"Morgans," he said, his voice deep and commanding. "I've got big news for you."

Morgans straightened up with a practiced grin, his tone full of flattery.

"Shiki-sama! What an honor to have you here in person. What may humble Morgans do for you, eh?"

Shiki didn't waste a second.

"I want you to announce the founding of the Eternal Kingdom to the entire world. Use all your channels. Do it immediately."

A flash of greed and excitement lit up Morgans' eyes as he nodded quickly.

"Understood! Don't worry, Shiki-sama. Leave it to me. I, Morgans, will make sure the whole world hears about it!"

His wings spread dramatically as he declared.

"Creating world-shaking news is my greatest joy!"

Shiki gave a curt nod, already turning toward the exit.

"Make it fast," he said coldly, disappearing through the doorway.

Morgans watched him go with a grin twisting across his face.

Slowly, his laughter deepened—turning from amusement into madness.

"The Eternal Kingdom… Ron…" he murmured.

"Kekeke… the world's about to get lively, arent they?"

.....

That afternoon, flocks of news coos filled the sky, wings slicing through the wind as they scattered in every direction.

Each one carried the latest issue of the World Economy News in its claws.

Across the seas, the same headline dominated every front page—its bold letters impossible to ignore:

"Whitebeard Pirates' Vice-Captain Ron Establishes the Eternal Kingdom!"

"Eternal Kingdom—A New Hub for the World's Trade?"

"Dual Devil Fruits, Infinite Possibilities—Everything Is Possible in the Eternal Kingdom!"

The news detonated across the Grand Line like a bomb.

Marines, pirates, nobles, civilians—no one was spared the shock.

Entire taverns went silent as readers froze, eyes wide.

The name Ron spread like wildfire.

...

In a distant castle, Dracule Mihawk sat quietly in his chair with a freshly delivered newspaper in hand.

The flickering candlelight glinted off his blade resting nearby.

His golden eyes lingered on the headline.

"The Eternal Kingdom… Ron," he muttered, lips curving faintly. "To declare such a thing so boldly… tch. How like him."

...

Deep beneath the ocean, the news reached Fishman Island.

Inside her coral chamber, Princess Shirahoshi held the paper with trembling hands, her sapphire eyes shining with joy.

"Ron-sama… you actually built your own country…" she whispered softly, her tail flicking with excitement.

Without hesitation, she swam from her chamber, heart racing.

"Father!" she called as she burst into the grand palace hall.

Neptune sat heavily on his throne, his massive frame tense, the same newspaper spread across his lap.

"You've seen the news as well, Shirahoshi?" he asked gravely.

She nodded, determination burning in her eyes.

"Yes, Father. I want to go to the Eternal Kingdom myself—to congratulate Ron-sama!"

Neptune let out a long sigh, his expression clouded.

"Shirahoshi… you know the state of Fishman Island. Our relationship with humans is still fragile. It could be dangerous for you to go to the surface."

But she shook her head firmly, her voice gentle yet unwavering.

"Ron-sama once helped us when no one else would. I trust him. I know he'll keep me safe. This is the least I can do for him, Father. Please… let me go."

For a moment, Neptune was silent.

He could see how much she had changed—how the timid girl he once knew had grown into someone brave enough to follow her own heart.

Finally, he exhaled and gave a small, resigned nod.

"Very well, Shirahoshi. If you are that determined… then I shall accompany you."

A radiant smile spread across her face as she clasped her hands together.

"Thank you, Father!"

...

All across the seas, the name Eternal Kingdom rippled like a storm wind, igniting chaos and ambition alike.

Pirates set sail, underworld brokers whispered in smoke-filled bars, and even government officials stirred restlessly.

Everyone wanted a piece of this rising power.

The world was shifting once again.

Meanwhile, the members of CP9 dragged their weary bodies back into Water 7.

Blueno was pale and barely conscious, carried on Kaku's back.

Lucci walked at the front, his face shadowed and grim, every step heavy with frustration.

Their mission had failed miserably.

Shiki's strength had been far beyond their expectations—and Ron's sudden appearance had sealed their fate.

They hadn't even been able to resist.

Lucci's pride burned, but he knew the truth.

His current power was far from enough—he hadn't yet awakened his Devil Fruit, nor faced true battles that forged strength.

Compared to Shiki, who was regaining his legendary might, Lucci was still too weak.

Upon their return, they gathered to report to their superior—Spandam.

In a hidden office overlooking the city, Spandam lounged behind a wide desk with a glass of red wine in hand, impatience written all over his face.

As the group entered, his eyes swept over them, pausing on Blueno's battered state.

His brow furrowed.

"You're back, huh? I told you to retreat. How did you end up like this?"

Lucci clenched his jaw, forcing his voice to stay calm.

"The mission failed. Ron's power was beyond our expectations… and Shiki was there as well. We were completely outmatched."

Spandam's wineglass paused midair, his expression twisting into a grimace.

The storm was far from over.
