Chapter 5 - **Chapter 5: The Developer's Gambit – Kafka's Ultimate Unleashed!**

**Chapter 5: The Developer's Gambit – Kafka's Ultimate Unleashed!**

Guinaifen blinked, momentarily forgetting to breathe.

The transition had been so seamless—one second she was watching Kafka's elegant blade work, the next she was staring at twin submachine guns flashing like silver serpents in the dark.

She'd gotten *too* immersed.

For a heartbeat, she'd forgotten this was just a game.

**"Uh… can I borrow your phone to play for a bit?"** she asked Lin Yu, fingers twitching toward the screen.

Lin Yu smirked. **"Go ahead."**

Guinaifen quickly adjusted her streaming setup, angling the camera to capture every pixel. **"Don't write this off just because it's turn-based, folks,"** she told her audience. **"The animations? The details? This is lightyears beyond older-gen games!"**

**"Let's give it a proper shot before judging."**

The chat exploded:

**"You tell 'em, Little Gui Zi!"**

**"Turn-based is still snooze-fest material, but damn, Kafka's model is *fine*—"**

**"BRO. That's *Kafka*. The Interastral Peace Company has her bounty at 108.9 BILLION credits. You *want* her to trace your IP?"**

**"I-I meant the in-game version! Not the real one! (*cold sweat*)"**

Guinaifen ignored the chaos and tapped the **Basic Attack** prompt.

On-screen, Kafka's blade flickered—a single, surgical strike.

Clean. Efficient.

Then came the **Skill** phase.

Kafka adjusted her stance, sword leveling horizontally.

**"Let's take them both out."**

Three rapid slashes—**CRACK!**

The final strike sent lightning fracturing through the enemy's form like a shattered mirror.

**[Combat Ended]**

**"Huh? That's it?"** Guinaifen pouted. **"I barely got to do anything!"**

She spun to the camera. **"Listen, controlling Kafka *yourself* is a whole different experience! It's not just 'I hit, you hit'—it's fast, fluid!"**

**"And those animations? *Chef's kiss*."**

**"Fight more monsters! Show us again!"** the chat demanded.

Obliging, Guinaifen guided Kafka deeper into the space station's wreckage.

Meanwhile, Kafka's voice dripped with boredom over the comms:

**"Since when did the Antimatter Legion become this pathetic?"**

**"This is the strongest force I could bait here,"** her companion replied. **"Unless you *want* the entire Legion descending on us."**

**"With enemies like these, the Astral Express crew won't break a sweat."**

**"Relax. A Doomsday Beast's already en route."**

Guinaifen's eyes widened. **"Wait—so the Stellaron Hunters *lured* the Antimatter Legion here?!"**

**"They're using the chaos to execute their own plan!"**

**"Absolute *menaces*!"**

Half the chat erupted into theory-crafting:

**"Hold up—is this game *from the Stellaron Hunters' perspective*?!"**

**"Starting with a twist this massive? Either the devs are geniuses or suicidal."**

**"Imagine if the *real* Stellaron Hunters see this…"**

As Kafka advanced, the corridor walls displayed holograms of real-life luminaries—scientists, Trailblazers, even IPC executives.

The chat buzzed louder.

**"Are they implying this game's events are *canon*?!"**

Then—**combat resumed**.

Five Voidrangers this time.

Kafka struck first, but the enemies retaliated—their twin blades carving vicious arcs.

Suddenly, an icon beside Kafka's portrait **flared to life**.

**[ULTIMATE READY]**

Guinaifen didn't hesitate.

**"All good times must come to an end~"**

The screen *shifted*.

Kafka's blade vanished—replaced by twin submachine guns spinning into her grip.

Dark violet energy coiled around her like a living storm.

**"It's time to say goodbye."**

What followed wasn't an attack.

It was a **symphony**.

Kafka *danced* through the horde—twirling, backflipping, guns blazing.

Every bullet left trails of silver. Every impact sent shockwaves through the screen.

The camera zoomed in as she landed, fingers miming an explosion.

**"Bong~"**

The world **detonated**.

When the smoke cleared, not a single enemy remained standing.

The screen trembled.

The chat **died**.

For three full seconds, no one typed a word.

Then—

**"WHAT. WAS. THAT."**

**"DEVS COOKED *HARD* WITH THIS ONE."**

**"I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT TURN-BASED—**

**"***JUST LET ME PLAY.***"**

Lin Yu leaned back, grinning.

*Hook. Line. Sinker.*
