Chapter 476: Grand Finale!
Ryohei, Yurine, Lucoa, and the others stayed on the island for four and a half days. It rained on one of those days, which they spent mostly indoors.
It wasn't boring, either.
When the engineers of the "Matsuya" group planned the island, they specifically designed an entertainment house.
Inside, it was subdivided by category into a billiards and pool room, a mahjong room, a board game room, and a karaoke and audio-visual room.
The group had a very enjoyable time.
Outdoor activities weren't just swimming, beach volleyball, or sea fishing.
Ryohei had prepared several jet skis. Everyone took turns riding them across the sea surface for a joyride, or holding onto a rope tied to a jet ski to wakeboard.
They also held diving activities—
The water quality in Okinawa is excellent, making it a famous diving mecca!
In the evenings, they prepared activities like bonfires and lighting fireworks.
These few days could be said to have been incredibly fulfilling and relaxing!
...
Returning to the city from the island, time had already entered May, but Golden Week was not yet over.
Japan's Golden Week usually lasts for seven days, starting from Showa Day on April 29th and ending on Children's Day on May 5th.
If it falls on a weekend, it gets extended to eight or nine days.
However, it didn't fall on a weekend this year.
Even so, Ryohei gave everyone a full twelve days off.
Mainly because the 6th was a Friday, the 7th and 8th were the weekend, and the 9th was a Monday. Furthermore, Ryohei was summoned by Jashin-chan on the evening of May 10th last year.
He didn't want to work on this day; he just wanted to have a meal with Yurine and Jashin-chan.
So he simply extended the holiday to the 10th.
"Ryohei-kun, do you still remember when you summoned me?"
At Toyosu Market—
Lucoa, accompanying Ryohei to purchase ingredients for tonight's dinner, suddenly asked with a smile.
"May 24th!"
Ryohei blurted out without even thinking.
Speaking of this, he remembered his "Luck" entry and wondered when its cooldown would finish.
Thinking this, he opened the system panel—
[Infinite Entry System]
[Ability Entries]: [Luminous Cuisine (Gold)], [Luck (Blue, Inactive)], [Storage Space (Blue)], [Power of One Dragon (Blue)]...
[Item Entries]: [Delicious Obedience Dango * 10 (Blue)]...
Alright, as expected, it's not there.
Ryohei said "as expected" inwardly.
"Mmm—, you remember very clearly!"
The corners of Lucoa's lips curled up happily. Supporting her full chest with her left hand and resting her right hand on top, she lightly tapped her cheek with her fingertip and said: "How should I reward you?"
"Take me for a joyride later."
Ryohei put away the system panel and turned his face sideways to look at her.
"Eh?"
Lucoa, somewhat surprised, opened the eyelids of both eyes, looked at him, smiled faintly, and said:
"I'll listen to you!"
...
Time quietly slipped by, and in the blink of an eye, nearly half a month had passed.
May 24th, Tuesday.
On this day, Ryohei felt a sensation in his heart. He opened the system panel, only to see that the "Luck" entry, which had always been gray and displayed as inactive, had lit up.
"So the cooldown time is one year?"
He was greatly surprised: "This cooldown time is quite long!"
But regardless, Ryohei was still quite happy in his heart and looked forward to the next entry extraction.
However, the following Monday, he was stunned to find that the entry had turned gray again. Ryohei was dumbfounded on the spot.
Lying in bed, he thought it over and soon had a guess—
Two days ago, Ryohei received a report from Ilulu saying that the hair on the four hooves of a Japanese Black Wagyu cow in the ranch had turned white, and a pregnant dairy cow had changed from black and white to black, white, and pink.
Perhaps the "Luck" entry was consumed on these two cows.
Ryohei wasn't disappointed by this; he just developed an increasingly strong interest in those two cows that had supposedly "evolved."
...
Meanwhile, on this very day—
The Aogiri Tree Ranch held an emergency mid-to-high-level meeting.
It had been over three months since they obtained the [Phantom Jellyfish]. Out of a thousand experimental subjects, only one chicken had mutated (mainly visible from its feathers).
And today, this chicken laid an egg!
Upon receiving the news, Takatsuki Sen rushed to the ranch immediately and convened the mid-to-high-level meeting.
At the meeting—
All the ghouls unanimously decided to boil this egg to test the waters.
Takatsuki Sen personally took action and made a hard-boiled egg—then peeled it, sliced it with a knife, and distributed it to all the mid-to-high-level members present.
With a mix of anticipation and apprehension, the group of ghouls put the sliced hard-boiled egg into their mouths.
The next second, they all froze in unison, and crystal-clear tears flowed out from their black and red kakugan...
