Chapter 3 - chapter two: the field

This was a mistake. They never should have run. Hollow lay in the tall grass of the field, hunkered down beside Faizure as thay watch his father swing his lantern around, desperately trying to find the two boys. "I told you we should never have left through the window! You knew he was drinking with the dukes down there, but noooo, you just had to risk both our hides and jump like an idiot, you pigsterine porkhead!", Hollow states, trying to let out his frustration silently, his hands shaking as they lie in the murky muds of the field. Faizure let's a sigh of relief as they hear his father's horse and buggy trudge away from them. Thank the lord's. Hollow grumbles as they stand, both of them looking and smelling like they took a mud bath. And not the relaxing kind, either. The slowly stalk away and out of the fields, sucking sounds echoing when they rip their leather boots out of the mud with each step. An owl cries in the distance, it barely being loud enough to hear over the sound of the cicadas and crickets. Trees appear in the distance, their green leafs grey in the moons light. Fireflies dance around them as they make their way to the forest.
