Chapter 1 - A Classless Anomaly

Location: Seoul, Ahjin Guild HeadquartersTime: Three months after the fall of the Monarch of DestructionStatus: Uncertain Peace

The metallic sound of the keyboard echoed through the room like a lonely clock. The air conditioning kept the temperature perfect, but Jin-Woo didn't notice.Seated at the main table of the Ahjin Guild, eyes lost in thought, he opened the status window with a simple thought:

Nothing had changed. No mission. No dimensional distortion.Peace.

"Peace is not comfort.""It's just the silence before the next battle."

Knock. Knock. Two soft taps at the door.

— "Hyung, we have a problem."

Woo Jin-Chul entered without waiting for permission.Beside him, Cha Hae-In. Tense face. Steady steps.Even off duty, she wore the black overcoat with the guild's emblem.

Jin-Woo closed the window with a blink.

— "Speak." — he said, not taking his eyes off the screen.

Jin-Chul exchanged a glance with Hae-In and continued:

— "We opened a gate this morning. Undefined classification."— "No mana reading. No dimensional energy."— "But the detector picked up... movement inside."

Jin-Woo finally looked at them. Slow. Calm. Attentive.

— "Location?"

— "Mount Inwang. But—"

Hae-In stepped forward. Firm:

— "I'm going with you."

Silence.Jin-Woo's gaze rested on her.

— "No."

— "Jin-Woo..."

— "No mana. No shadow. No logic. If it doesn't make sense, it's mine."

She didn't back down. But her gaze wasn't just that of a hunter. It was of a woman. She approached, ignoring Jin-Chul completely, and spoke softly:

— "I'm not weak. And you know it."— "You promised... not to leave me out."

Jin-Woo inhaled slowly. Closed his eyes for two seconds. When he opened them, he held her hand. Firm. Calm.

— "It's not about strength, Hae-In."— "It's about... what I'd lose if something went wrong."

She looked away. But said nothing. He pulled her gently, resting his forehead against hers.

— "Trust me. Just this once."

Hae-In closed her eyes. The tension vanished for an instant. They remained there. In silence. Just presence.

Woo Jin-Chul coughed discreetly.

— "Hyung... we need to move."

Jin-Woo stepped back slowly. Hae-In nodded. She stepped back, but her eyes stayed on him until the end.

Mount Inwang

The Guild had surrounded the perimeter. No civilians in sight. The portal, in the center of the clearing, didn't pulse. Didn't glow.It was just... a black rift in the air. Dense. Silent.

But Jin-Woo could feel it. Something was alive in there.

He stared into the void for a few seconds.

— "I'll be back in 10 minutes."

He started walking.

— "Hyung!" — Jin-Chul tried to stop him. — "We don't have enough data—"

— "That's why I'm going." — he replied, without stopping.

The portal swallowed him.

Dungeon Entry

Everything changed. No sound. No mana. No shadow. The status window failed for two seconds. The shadows didn't respond. Interference.

[ SYSTEM ALERT ]

[Dimensional anomaly detected.]

[Connection to the Shadow World: Interfered]

[Adapting functions to the current plane…]

[Summons limited: 1]

[Boss: Unknown]

[Objective: Survive]

A dark, damp corridor.Inscriptions on the walls — primitive, yet active.Everything pulsed with an ancient and living force... but it wasn't mana.

Jin-Woo extended his arm:

— "Igris."

A tear in reality.Igris appeared, kneeling. But his armor trembled. His body felt heavier.Something was draining his essence.

— "Even you can feel it…"

Jin-Woo walked slowly. The floor creaked under his boots, as if not meant to support the living.

The window reappeared, but different:

[ ADAPTING... ]

[Dimensional Energy: Incompatible]

[Dominant Composition: Chakra]

[Comparing Structures: Mana vs Chakra…]

[Similarity: 62%]

[Temporary Conversion Activated: 1 Mana = 0.57 Chakra]

[Skills Adapted to Local Flow]

[Note: Summons Unstable]

Jin-Woo read the window. Silent. Steady gaze.

"This world doesn't recognize mana... but doesn't reject it. It converts it. Curious."

He closed the window. Continued forward.

A sound.Footsteps.

No… six pairs.

The darkness vibrated. Not with mana, but with something denser.Static. Suffocating. As if reality was being rewritten.

The silhouettes appeared.

Six figures.Identical. Yet unique.

Rinnegan.Holes in reality. Pupils that devour the world.

Jin-Woo stopped. One foot forward. Igris by his side.

[ Hostility Detected ]

[Boss: Undetermined]

[Energy Pathways: Anomalous]

[Attack Pattern: Unknown]

The one in front — Tendō Pain — spoke. Voice emotionless, full of certainty:

— "You belong neither to this land. Nor to the sky. Nor to the underworld."

Jin-Woo observed.Not an S-Rank monster.It was... order. A pain that thinks.

— "What are you doing here?"

Jin-Woo tilted his head.

"If I knew... I wouldn't be curious."

Pain watched. Then slowly raised his hand:

— "Noise has no place in peace. You will be silenced."

Shinra Tensei.The air shattered.

Jin-Woo jumped at the exact moment.Instinct. Precision.

Igris was thrown against the wall. The shadow dissolved with hisses.

"It's not mana... it's brute force shaped like divine law."

Jin-Woo activated the system with his mind.

[ Summon: BERU ]

[Chakra Consumption: 5,200]

[Stability: 73%]

[Form: Emergency Adaptation Activated]

From the ground, a living crack.Beru emerged with a roar. But something was wrong.Tremors. Instability. The body resisted local laws.

Pain observed.

— "You summon… shadows. But don't manipulate chakra. Strange."

Another Pain spoke from behind:

— "Could be forbidden ninjutsu. Or... extradimensional entity."

The central one responded coldly:

— "Doesn't matter. He will be judged."

The six bodies moved at once.

Jin-Woo's face hardened.

"So that's it. This is the Boss."

[ Objective Updated: Eliminate the Judgment of the Six Paths ]

[Survival: 40% Guaranteed]

Mount Inwang, Rift ExteriorThe sound of wind echoed through the clearing, but all hunters were silent.

The portal — or whatever it was — remained.

Black. Static. Cold.

But now... there was red.

A dark tone, like coagulated blood under glass. Pulsing as if alive.

Cha Hae-In stared at the rift, fists clenched.

— "He said ten minutes…"

Twenty-five had passed.

Woo Jin-Chul stood beside her, eyes fixed on the floating magic reading monitor.

— "Nothing. No mana traces. No shadow flow."

She stepped forward.

— "Then I'm going in."

Jin-Chul tried to stop her:

— "Cha, wait. That portal isn't stable. We don't know what's in there. Or if he..."

She ignored him.

Reached the edge. The barrier between air and void.

Extended her hand.

But before touching—

FLASH.

A pulse of energy pushed everyone back.

The edge of the portal turned crimson — like living lava beneath black glass.

The guild's detector beeped wildly.

— "Total rejection of external entry..." — Jin-Chul murmured, looking at the tablet.

— "What?" — Hae-In stood, breathless.

— "It's as if... the dungeon selected only one conscious being. Completely closed any breach afterward."

She punched the ground hard, cracking the earth.

— "And if he needs help?"

— "He's always needed help." — Jin-Chul replied softly. — "But never let us know."

They looked at the black and red void.

Inside, Sung Jin-Woo was alone.

Location: Unknown Dimension – Inside the Anomalous Dungeon

The six bodies of Pain advanced with mechanical precision, each step as cold as a final sentence.

Jin-Woo didn't move.

His eyes gleamed, and with a single thought, he executed the strategy.

[ Tactical Command: Full Distraction ]

[Summon: Beru — Full Frontal Assault]

[Skill: Stealth — Activated]

[Chakra Consumption: 8,120 | Internal Conversion Optimized to 68%]

Beru exploded like a spear of pure hatred, zigzagging across the walls, with a monstrous roar that echoed through the entire plane.

— "KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII—!!"

Animal Path Pain moved first, creating a summon — a two-headed chakra hound, which leaped at Beru.

The shadow monster intercepted it with a claw that split the ground in two.

Asura Path Pain launched his arm like a missile.

Beru was hit. But endured. And roared again.

Meanwhile… Jin-Woo vanished.

[ Stealth: Success — Detection 0% ]

[Observing...]

[Combat Patterns being recorded...]

The system absorbed and analyzed the movements of the Six Paths:

Tendō (Central): Absolute gravity. Shinra Tensei and Chibaku Tensei. Dangerous.Gakidō (Preta): Absorbed Beru's chakra briefly. Should be avoided.Shuradō (Asura): Armed with embedded artillery.Chikushōdō (Animal): Summons monsters — pure chakra.Ningendō (Human): Tried to capture Beru. Can read thoughts or steal souls.Jigokudō (Naraka): Reviver. Heals or tortures. Support.

Jin-Woo observed, motionless among the shadows fused to the dungeon's damp wall. The system worked alongside him like an invisible eye of living intelligence.

"These bodies share vision. But act as a distributed system... He's like me. A controller with an army."

Beru held off three Pains at once. He was wounded. But resisted.

"I just need an opening."

Central Pain stepped firmly, raising his arm slowly.

— "It's over."

[ ALERT: Planetary-Level Technique being activated ]

[Absolute Gravity forming: "Chibaku Tensei"]

The ceiling began to crack. The ground curved.Beru was pulled upward.

"Now."

Jin-Woo leapt from the shadow with absurd speed, black shadow flowing through his eyes like living smoke.

He drove his hand into the ground.

[ Adapted Skill: Shadow Extraction ]

Even without deaths... the system converted residual chakra left by Pain's summoned monsters.

From the ground, two shadowy creatures were born like solid smoke — distorted forms, made from the very rejection of reality.

A new voice emerged in the system:

[ New Temporary Servants Created: "False Summon" ]

[Duration: 3 minutes]

[Utility: Advanced Distraction | Chain Reaction]

The copies ran in opposite directions.Pain split up instinctively.

"This is my chance... cut the central link."

Jin-Woo leapt toward Tendō Pain.A black sword materialized in his hand — made of shadow and fury.

As Beru collided with the summoned hound...

Pain observed. Not just with his eyes. But with collective awareness.

Six bodies. One mind. One focus: understand... and destroy what threatens order.

Inside the Deva Path (Tendō)

The central body, with Rinnegan pulsing like a living galaxy, stared at Jin-Woo even while he remained hidden.

The Stealth technique was advanced, yes, but Nagato's instinct — warped by pain, sharpened by war — sensed the anomaly.

"There's no visible chakra. But something is moving the air like a blade."

"Not a summon... not a bijuu. This being... is displaced."

"He commands death. Controls matter of darkness. But he's not pure evil... he's order."

Tendō slightly withdrew his arm before activating Chibaku Tensei, giving a subtle signal to the other bodies:

"He's a strategist."

Inside the Naraka Path (Jigokudō)

This body observed the collateral effects of battle. Every trace Beru left.Regeneration was activated on one of the summoned hounds, but failed.

"Curious..."

"This being is transforming residual chakra into something... unnatural."

"Ninjutsu, senjutsu, genjutsu... it's none of those."

"It's as if he's violating the laws of the world with... another source."

In Amegakure — Nagato's Real Body

On the metallic throne, among machines and chakra tubes, Nagato breathed heavily. His eyes shone. But they were focused. Alive.

"This man... is like a ghost from a war we never fought."

The computer linked to the Six Paths blinked.

Nagato narrowed his eyes.

"He converts chakra."

"But the source... is something else. As if his power came from something the world itself rejects, and he forces it to accept."

Back to the Fight

As Jin-Woo emerged with the black sword toward Central Pain...

Tendō raised his hand — but paused for a millisecond.

Doubt.

"He is the enemy.""But also a key."

"If I can understand this power… I can use it. For peace."

The Rinnegan tried to predict the movement. But couldn't see the full trajectory.

Jin-Woo moved outside chakra logic.

Pain found himself, for the first time... unable to read an enemy.

"Where did he get that sword…?"

"That thing... is alive?"

He activated Shinra Tensei, but Jin-Woo's impact had already grazed his defense.

A red line opened on the Deva Path's armor. Superficial. But... real.

For the first time in years — Pain bled.

Now, tension existed on both sides.Jin-Woo felt the enemy was not only strong, but intelligent and adaptive. And Pain/Nagato realized he was facing someone beyond any ninja logic.

Pain (Tendō) floated above the ground. Rinnegan eyes pulsing.Wind blew between them as if the world held its breath.Beru, with a burned arm, stepped back with a guttural click.Jin-Woo remained standing, shadowy sword in hand, still partially in stealth, half-visible like a wraith.

Pain (Tendō)— "You are not from this world."— "Your energy… defies chakra itself."— "But… that's not what interests me."

Pause.

— "You fight like a god. Death and silence follow you."— "Power like that shouldn't be wasted on survival."

Jin-Woo narrowed his eyes. He was still trying to understand: was this the dungeon boss?

Jin-Woo (thinking):"Three days trapped here… and still no mission completion window.""This man isn't a shadow. Not a summon. Not a common human.""Maybe... he's the boss.""But... why is he talking to me?"

Pain (Tendō):— "You seek something. And it's not destruction."— "You understand pain. Just like I do."

Pain extended a hand.

— "Join the Akatsuki."— "Help us save the world through control. True peace is born from absolute order."— "You'll be free. No nation will dare oppose you. No shinobi will cross your path."

Jin-Woo didn't respond immediately. The sword still vibrated with dark energy. He lowered his guard slightly — just to think.

Jin-Woo (low, cold voice):— "Save the world?"— "With reanimated corpses and eyes that manipulate time?"— "You call that peace?"

Pain said nothing. Just watched.

Jin-Woo (continues):— "This place... makes no sense."— "No logic. No system."— "But it converts my power… as if this world is trying... to absorb my essence."

He opened the invisible window before him. Watching the conversion in progress:

[ SYSTEM ALERT ]

[Mana not detected.]

[Chakra replacing magical functions.]

[Conversion: 64% complete.]

[Some skills adapted.]

[Summons still unstable.]

Jin-Woo (thinking):"The longer I stay here… the more part of this I become.""If this dungeon is bigger than I imagine, I could lose connection to the real world.""To her... to my family..."

Pain (Tendō):— "You've lost people, haven't you?"— "You know the real world doesn't reward the just. Only the strong."— "Fight with us. And you'll never lose anything again."

Jin-Woo finally answered aloud:

— "I don't fight for peace."— "Nor for ideals."— "I fight to protect… what I still have left."

Silence.

The mist between them moved like magical smoke. The Rinnegan watched. But even it... couldn't fully see Jin-Woo.

Pain (internally, Nagato thinking):"He is disciplined. But driven by emotion.""If I can't break him… I'll have to destroy him.""This man... could be the greatest threat we've ever faced.""Or... the weapon that will end the war."

Jin-Woo stepped forward.Beru appeared beside him, even damaged.

— "Proposal rejected."— "Now… show me if you're the boss."

Jin-Woo smiled slightly. The window blinked:
