Morris's POV
The anxiety gnawing at me wouldn't subside until I knew the girls were safe. I managed to convince them that while they enjoyed their night out at the Social Club, we would be nearby playing poker at the casino. I promised we wouldn't intrude on their space, but if trouble arose, we'd be seconds away. They resisted initially, but ultimately agreed with clear conditions: we wouldn't approach their brunch area, and when they wanted to leave, they'd call us for a ride home.
The poker game was intense, chips stacking and falling around the table as our conversation inevitably drifted to the remarkable women in our lives. Jasper was practically glowing as he spoke about his domestic bliss with Natalie, mentioning he'd sold his apartment to Harvey.
"I thought my best friend would be crashing at my place longer," Darren grumbled, tossing chips into the center pot. "But no, he moved out yesterday."
