Two days had passed since Dale's call about the siege on Eddie and his visit to Murphy Eddie. I'd informed Monica that the police were closing in on our enemy. My wife was restless from her bed rest confinement, which had been going on for over two weeks now. Her pregnancy had progressed significantly, her belly growing visibly larger each day, and her energy reserves were depleting. I'd made arrangements to work primarily from home, unwilling to leave her alone in this condition. Our circle of friends had established a rotation, ensuring she always had company.
