The past week vanished in a blur of activity. We'd been working non-stop, but thankfully without any drama. Friday morning arrived with wonderful news from Albert—our new house was ready for occupancy. Morris and I decided to celebrate properly by organizing a weekend move, culminating in a Sunday lunch by the pool with our closest friends. The weather cooperated beautifully, and everyone's spirits soared as we enjoyed our new home.
I'd chosen to wear a flowing dress that accommodated my expanding waistline. Now four months into my pregnancy, my belly had begun to protrude noticeably, and my regular wardrobe had grown increasingly uncomfortable. Earlier that week, I'd gone shopping with the girls, desperately seeking clothes that would accommodate my changing figure.
