Monica's POV
The moment we stepped onto Darren's property, a wave of excited squeals erupted as the girls rushed toward us, eager to snatch Austin from Morris's protective arms. Morris's brow furrowed slightly, his grip on my son tightening.
"Hey, easy there, ladies! Handle the little man with care," he warned, reluctantly surrendering Austin to their outstretched hands.
Jason approached with a broad smile. "So this is the famous Austin I've been hearing about!"
My heart swelled watching my friends surround my son, tickling his belly and making him giggle uncontrollably. Austin's eyes suddenly darted past the crowd of admirers, landing squarely on Morris.
"Morris, pool!" he demanded, violet eyes bright with anticipation.
"Safety first, buddy," I reminded him, even as his tiny arms reached impatiently toward Morris.
