Monica's POV
The laughter bubbled out of me as I watched Darren drag Lily away by her hand, her face a comical mix of surprise and reluctance as she glanced back at us. Before I could comment on their hasty departure, I felt strong fingers wrap around my wrist. Morris pulled me to him with playful determination, causing everyone around us to burst into laughter.
"And where do you think you're going, Miss Monica?" Morris slid his arm possessively around my waist. "Is Kayla staying with Austin tonight?"
"She is," I confirmed, trying to sound firm. "But that doesn't mean I'm spending the night with you, Morris."
His eyes sparkled with mischief. "Oh, but you are! Your exact words were that we'd have fun tonight. Since the evening is still young, we're finishing it at my place." Before I could protest further, his lips captured mine in a kiss that silenced any objections. With gentle insistence, he guided me toward his car.
