Monica's POV
I stumbled out of Morris's office, my knees weak and my body on fire. That arrogant bastard had brought me to the edge and left me there, burning with unfulfilled desire. The smugness on his face as he dismissed me was infuriating. This wouldn't stand. I needed retribution—something to match his cruel teasing before I handed in my resignation letter and fled back to my previous position.
Seething with frustration, I barely noticed when Darren entered my office. I was furiously shuffling through paperwork, my concentration shattered. He wisely avoided eye contact and quickly escaped into his friend's sanctuary.
When Irina popped her head in to inform me she needed to step out briefly, a deliciously wicked plan began forming in my mind.
"Irina," I called, my voice suddenly honey-sweet. "Would you mind grabbing me something from that bakery across the street? I'm craving their chocolate cake—the one with milk chocolate shavings and cherries decorating the top."
