Chapter 334 - The Bet

Zephyros stood there, his silver eyes gleaming as he studied Jack's expression. The god's lips curved into a smile.

"So," Zephyros said, "You actually want to make a wager with me? A god? Are you sure that's for the best?"

He gestured broadly at the room, at the scattered women still watching from the perimeter with wide eyes. "Most mortals learn from others' mistakes. You seem determined to make one."

Jack's expression remained neutral, though internally he was measuring every word and action he made. "I'm not most mortals. And I'm not asking you to bet blind. I have terms."

"Terms." Zephyros's smile widened, showing those perfect teeth. "Very well, Kaiser. What are these terms?"

"Simple," Jack said, his tone businesslike despite the divine presence still pressing against him like atmospheric weight. "If I win, you give me information."

The god's eyebrows rose fractionally. "What information?"
