Chapter 321 - Barrage of Notifications

Jack's eyes snapped open.

He knelt on cold stone, his body exactly where he'd left it at Draven's shrine. The afternoon sun had shifted slightly, casting longer shadows across the marble columns. His knees ached from the prolonged position, but that discomfort barely registered against the frustration churning in his gut.

'Sarin,' Jack thought, pushing himself to his feet with more force than necessary. 'They exploded at just hearing the name. Draven looked like I'd threatened his entire existence. Death went completely serious. And neither of them would tell me a damn thing.'

He brushed dust from his trousers, scowling at the empty shrine. The peaceful atmosphere that had surrounded him during communion now felt hollow, tainted by unanswered questions and divine secrets.
