*One month later*
Paige POV:
I'm standing in Nikolai's arms in the garden, coffee in hand watching the sunrise. The tingles have grown to overwhelm me and it's all I can do to hold firm in the dating faze. Kaelen is harder to resist. He makes me feel like my skin is on fire in the best way. But they are taking it slow with me. I've told him some of the things that Trevor did to me but neither of us liked to talk about it.
"Breakfast is ready babygirl." Nikolai whispered in my ear. "Mmmm" I replied as he kissed my neck and tingles exploded. "Let's go my Luna." He says stepping back and offering his hand. We were always touching. We both loved the way the sparks felt. His pack welcomed me with open arms from day one. Victor's wife Michelle has become the third in our bff group. Rose, Michelle, and I call ourselves the three musketeers.
No surprise here but Rose is already marked and mated. Her and Keegan couldn't be happier. The next full moon is in a week and the Moon Goddess may grant her a wolf. She is nervous but I told her she will do great. I bet her wolf is feisty and rebellious just like her. We arrived in the dining hall and everyone was already waiting for us. Natiri is also a good friend but she is more reserved and tends to say to herself.
It's not that she doesn't like other people it's just that she's apparently working on some kind of big project. She hasn't gone into any details I can't blame her I'm still kind of a stranger. I haven't told anyone but since we arrived I've been having vivid dreams me running in the middle of the forest being chased by what? I don't know. It's always the same and it always ends in the middle of a field of violet. Then I wake up.
As I sat down Rose is the first one to say anything. "Well good morning Luna, Alpha. How was your morning stroll in the garden?" She asks nosily. "It was the same as every morning. Beautiful and peaceful until now." I said sticking my tongue out at her. The Omega serving our breakfast smiled at our playful nature. "The men have work to do today so how about we go shopping? Then we can look at that building for the new kids indoor play place!"
Michelle said looking excitedly from me to Rose. "Yeah that sounds good. I wonder if Natiri wants to come? She has been cooped up in her room since yesterday." I reply happily. "Ohhhh, yes let's just shove her in the car and drive fast so she can't escape!" Rose said with a bit too much enthusiasm. Everyone busted out laughing and Natiri snuck up behind Rose.
"It may have worked if I hadn't overheard the plan." She says close to her ear making Rosalie jump almost out of her chair. Another round of laughter sounded and Nikolai rested his hand on mine. "Gotta get to work my beautiful queen. I'll see you later babygirl." He says and kisses me lightly. I huff when he pulls away too fast causing him to chuckle.
"You call that a kiss? That was lame." Rose said earning a growl from me, shocking everyone including myself. I could feel my cheeks burn red as it registered. "The Luna is touchy about her mate. You better be careful love." Keegan said chuckling and kissing her. "Forget them. I'll see you later." I say to Nik and stand to hug him. I love being in his arms.
After we got to the mall we went to a few stores. Rose wanted a new Louis Vuitton bag so we went there. Then Natiri wanted to go to Sephora so naturally we flocked in. I was lost in thought sitting in a chair outside the dressing room at TJ Maxx. I think I'm ready to go all in with Nikolai but I'm gonna need a pep talk from the girls. What if he thinks my scars are ugly? What if I'm not good at anything he wants to do?
Trevor always said I was no good in bed. What if it's true and then Nikolai turns on me? What if he takes another woman into bed? I was spiraling in my head and I couldn't breathe. I heard faint voices calling my name and shouting to call someone. I couldn't make out the rest. I tried to calm down but it wasn't happening. Rose being my Gamma female should be able to help but right now I'm drowning in my insecurities.
I was pulled out of my thoughts abruptly when the sparks spread through my body. My vision cleared and my breath returned. I saw Nikolai's face etched in worry. When our eyes met he sighed heavily and crashed his lips to mine. I held him to me deepening the kiss by granting his tongue access to my mouth. When we pulled away he reached up to wipe the tears from my face. I hadn't noticed I was crying.
After the whole episode Rose pulled me aside. "What's up Paige? What caused the spiral?" So of course I spilled my guts to her and she laughed at me! This B laughed at me! So I pinched her in the arm. She didn't care though. She kept laughing. "Girl, just do it." I promise you won't be disappointed. Mate sex is the ultimate." She grinned and laughed again. "Let's go to Victoria's Secret.
