The weather was excellent today, the sea as flat as a mirror, reflecting the clouds in the sky. The thick, continuous clouds looked like countless sheep lying shoulder to shoulder, sleeping.
At this moment, the tide had receded, and the huge crater Broly had blasted out had become a small lake, with clear blue water and sea fish swimming inside, having been washed in.
A group of black-suited S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents had sealed off the entire lake. More than a dozen Agents wearing diving suits were diving into the lake, searching for any possible remaining clues.
"We've measured it; the water is one hundred and nine meters deep, even deeper than New York Bay."
Nick Fury, with his shiny bald head, squatted by the lake, fiddling with the clear water. Because it was so deep, the lake appeared a deep blue from the surface.
"Tony Stark, as one of the smartest people on Earth, what kind of weapon do you think we need to create to contend with such a monster?"
He stood up and looked at Tony Stark, who was standing to the side.
"Uh, my suggestion is that we elect him president; that way, all the problems will be solved."
Tony Stark looked at the large lake in front of him, appearing as carefree as ever, but a flicker of unwillingness flashed in his eyes. He was brimming with confidence in his improved armor, eager to avenge himself on the Green Goblin. The lake before him was like the Green Goblin standing there, mocking his overestimation of his own abilities.
He clenched his fist secretly.
"This joke isn't funny, Stark."
Nick Fury stood up.
The original purpose of establishing S.H.I.E.L.D. was to handle special events of all kinds. The current Green Goblin had far exceeded their ability to deal with. The Security Council had begun to question whether S.H.I.E.L.D. was still necessary, given the amount of funding they received and their inability to fulfill their duties.
Nick Fury had to demonstrate the value of S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Do you know why no one has come knocking yet, Stark?"
Tony Stark's expression was full of nonchalance.
"Why would someone come to me? I'm just a legitimate businessman. As for the Iron Man suit, it's just an experimental product in collaboration with the military."
Nick Fury pulled out a stack of photos from his pocket and handed them to Tony Stark. Tony flipped through them casually, and his expression began to turn grim.
"Tony, S.H.I.E.L.D. also has its own satellites. You can't treat everyone like they're fools."
The photos showed the MK3 attacking the ground, with the scorching plasma jets and deadly electromagnetic cannons all captured clearly. Even the MK3 in space was photographed, and even when it was attacking.
"You should know what will happen if those people in the Security Council find out that Stark Industries has launched such a lethal weapon over their heads, Tony. They might tolerate the Lizardmen because those Lizardmen pose no threat to them, but they can't tolerate someone who can turn them into roasted turkeys with the push of a button. The fate of Stark Industries will be even worse than that of the Osborn Group."
Nick Fury's remaining eye stared at Tony Stark.
"Are you threatening me?"
Tony Stark's expression became very ugly. He, who was arrogant, could not stand being threatened the most.
"I'm protecting you, Tony. I've already reported to the Security Council that this powerful space weapon belongs to S.H.I.E.L.D. Otherwise, armed personnel would have surrounded all your properties long ago, kid. You think we're the only ones who found this thing?"
Tony Stark wasn't stupid; he knew Nick Fury was telling the truth. He had more ways to hide the MK3 in space, but the monster's attack was too sudden, forcing him to use the still-incomplete MK3.
"What do you need me to do for you?"
Seeing Tony Stark soften, Nick Fury patted his shoulder hard.
"Keep developing your Iron Man suits, Tony. The frontline Agents can only fight the Lizardmen by wearing Iron Man suits, and we need bigger ones."
"How big?"
Tony Stark asked. Stark Industries was very familiar with this business; those in charge of military projects were all like that. The bigger the tonnage, the better. Big equals beautiful, big equals combat power.
"At least a hundred meters."
Nick Fury said.
"One hundred meters... cough... are you sure you're not joking?"
Tony Stark choked on his breath, coughing violently. It took him a great effort to catch his breath.
"I'm not joking. Do you know the origin of that monster in New York City?"
Nick Fury's expression was very calm.
"What origin? Isn't he a Lizardman?"
"Of course not. He first appeared at a missile base in North Dakota. At that time, his size was less than two meters, smaller than all the Lizardman individuals discovered now."
Tony Stark was shocked:
"This can't be. In New York City, it was already over four meters long."
Nick Fury explained with a grim expression:
"The second sighting was in a birch forest in the wilderness. It devoured an entire nuclear warhead, and its length ballooned to three meters. It's still growing, Tony. It's still in its juvenile stage."
His words revealed a chilling truth.
"We scoured all the files, even searching through mythical tales for any clues. Finally, we found a lead on this monster. It's a creature called Godzilla. Eighteen years ago, a Godzilla skeleton was discovered in a copper mine in Western Global Mining, and it was over a hundred meters long."
Nick Fury's face showed a bitter expression:
"Part of the skeleton went missing from the sealed-off site. We compared the tissue samples left by the monster in New York City with the genetic samples from the skeleton, and they matched perfectly. The unmatched portion belonged to Norman Osborn. Tony, if we let Norman Osborn continue to consume radioactive material, we'll soon be facing a hundred-meter-tall opponent."
"Why don't you just create a Godzilla serum? S.H.I.E.L.D. has the genetic samples already. I don't believe you haven't tried to develop a serum."
Tony Stark said sarcastically, fully aware of the nature of these organizations.
"We did try."
Nick Fury didn't deny it. S.H.I.E.L.D. was indeed very eager for Godzilla's power, and both Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy possessed the technology to create serums.
"All the volunteers failed; their genes directly collapsed, turning into a mass of wriggling flesh. It seemed there was a will in the dark, allowing only one Godzilla to exist in this world. So, we need you to create a giant power armor capable of fighting Godzilla."
