Year 1823 A.D (Flashback).
>Years Before Lucas Was Ever Born<
In the dead of winter, under a blood moon, the werewolf queen stood barefoot in the snow. Her golden eyes flickered like twin flames as the ancient oracle finished her trembling prophecy.
"A child will come," the seer rasped, her voice echoing across the frost-covered trees. "Born of your bloodline. But he will not be like the others."
The queen's warriors growled lowly, their shadows long and wolf-like beneath the moonlight.
"He will carry the mark of the cursed flame. He will bring with him great power, but also great ruin."
The fire crackled in the hollow tree behind them. The queen stepped forward, her voice steady. "When?"
The oracle closed her eyes. Her body swayed as if pulled by an invisible force.
"Not now. Not in your time. But centuries from now, when your blood forgets its own howl. He will rise in the world of men."
She paused, her face twisting in grief.
"Doom will fall upon your house. Betrayal will break the pact. And the child born in shadow, will either save or destroy us all."
Lightning split the sky.
And somewhere deep in the forest, a lone wolf howled, the first cry of a fate long sealed....
Present Day...
The time was 02:38pm. Basketball practice was over. Lucas and Philip were at the Chemistry laboratory having a conversation when Philip changed the topic.
"Saw your sketch book earlier". He said. Lucas became pale. Then he cleared his throat and spoke.
"What about it?" He asked.
"Saw the drawings. All about the supernatural realm". Philip answered. Lucas scoffed.
"Just wolves and some stuffs. Nothing serious about them". Lucas replied.
"I don't think that's all about the drawings though". Philip said.
"What?" Lucas asked.
"I do read about werewolves and all that. You had anger issues yesterday, your appetite grew so large today, and if no one has noticed your palms and fingers, I have. You're changing Lucas and you know that!" Philip said. Lucas was speechless. "It's okay if you don't want to talk to me about it, but I think you should try getting answers on this shit". Philip said. Lucas sighed. He had to tell someone. Someone he could confide in, someone he could trust and Philip was the best alternative.
"It's true. I do see those signs and have weird dreams, in as much as I think I'm a demon..." He said as Philip chipped in.
"A werewolf". He said.
"Right, a werewolf. I don't know anything about my past, I don't know how to approach my mum and tell her about it, I don't know what to feel, my head spins, I see images most times and hear people talk, bro, I'm confused!" Lucas said as he rubbed his forehead. Philip sighed.
"Have you tried making some research about werewolves, something that happened years ago. Something like that!" Philip said. Lucas was quiet.
"No". He replied.
"Why don't we go see if we can find something at the old library before we go home?" Philip asked.
"That's a good idea!" Lucas said as he got up from the stool he was sitting on immediately.
"We can sneak into the old library right?" Philip asked.
"Yeah, sure". Lucas replied. Then, they dashed out of the laboratory.
Flashback. (1823 AD, The Obsidian Hollow Palace).
>Years before Lucas was ever born<
In the stone halls of Obsidian Hollow, the fire crackled as Queen Seraphina stood facing her mate, King Rhaegor, her eyes dark with worry.
"The seer has spoken," she whispered. "She says I will give birth to a child, cursed from the womb. A child who will carry both salvation and ruin."
King Rhaegor's jaw clenched. "Then we'll find the seer again. Make her take back her words!"
"Prophecies do not bend to the will of kings," Seraphina said bitterly. "She said doom will fall upon our bloodline, and there will be eternal damnation if he is left unguarded." She said as a tear dropped from her eye.
"He won't be bore anytime soon! We must look for every means possible to protect him from this dark world!" King Rhaegor said. The queen sat on one of the armchairs.
"How? We need someone to ascend the throne!" She said in a low tone as she sobbed. Rhaegor walked up to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. Then, she looked at him.
"We'll find someone else to bear a son for me, maybe an omega, after that, we can kill her and make sure no one finds out about it!" The king said in a low tone. The queen's eyes widened in fear.....
Back To The Present Day...
Lucas and Philip had successfully snuck into the old library. It was very dusty and filled with cobwebs. Philip frowned his face in disgust as he tried not to cough out loud. Lucas adjusted his face mask and rolled his eyeballs around the library.
"God, this place is damned!" Philip said.
"I'll check the shelves over there for something useful, check the ones over here, we don't have much time!" Lucas said as he walked towards a corner in the library.
"Alright!" Philip said as he started searching through an old, dusty shelf in the library. The shelf was rusty and creaky, and the books were covered in dust and looked old. As he moved the books, they made a crunching sound, and dust flew everywhere. The room was dark and quiet, with only a little bit of light coming through the dirty windows.
Lucas on the other hand rummaged the other shelves in the part of the library where he had gone to. He could barely see the words in the front cover of the books he saw. Just then, a weathered, dusty book tumbled silently from the crooked, rusty metal shelf, its faded cover cracked and stained with age. The pages, yellowed and brittle, whispered forgotten stories as they fluttered gently onto the creaking wooden floor of the abandoned school library, where silence hung thick like a heavy curtain, untouched for years. The book seemed to hold the weight of time itself, a relic of memories long buried beneath layers of dust and shadow. Lucas picked the book from the floor immediately and used his hands to clean the front cover of the book. Then, he read out what was written boldly in it.
"ECHOES OF THE FORGOTTEN..."
"Yo Phil! I found something!" He said in a loud tone. Just then, Philip rushed up to him. Then he looked at the book and fixed his gaze on Lucas.
"I guess some answers might be found here!" He said. Just then, the door to the library swung open, a torch light was turned on.
"Who's in here?!" The security guard asked standing at the door with one of his hands on his waist. There was no response. Then he sucked his teeth and walked into the library shutting the door behind him.
Lucas and Philip crouched tightly beneath the librarian's old wooden desk, the scent of mildew and old paper thick in the air around them. Philip, leaned with a nervous energy and kept glancing toward the cracks in the desk's panels, while Lucas, more composed but tense, held his breath every time a floorboard groaned. Outside their hiding spot, the beam of a flashlight swept slowly towards their hiding spot, the security guard's steps heavy and uncertain. Neither boy moved. They hadn't meant to stay this late, and now something far worse than detention seemed to be roaming the shelves.
The security guard stopped at the libarian's old desk and let a dry cough out.
"We need to do something about these rats!" He said. Then he walked out of the library hurriedly. Lucas and Philip heaved a sigh of relief and came out of their hiding spot....
**********
Lucas and Philip arrived at their class breathing heavily and sweating profusely. The class was empty.
"Thanks for your help bro. I really appreciate!" Lucas said to Philip as they shook hands.
"Anytime my man". Philip said. Just then, Lucas checked the time in his wristwatch.
"I gotta bounce!" He said as he picked up his bag from his seat and kept the book he had collected from the library in it.
"Aight bro". Philip said as Lucas hurried out of the classroom.
Lucas arrived at the parking lot and found students hopping into the school bus. Just them, Mariam walked up to him sipping her juice.
"Where have you been? And why do you smell like dust?" She asked in a tone of that of a detective.
"Since when did you become my body guard?" Lucas asked.
"I hate you!" She said.
"I hate you more!" Lucas said as he scoffed. Then, he hopped into the bus. In no time, the bus was full and then, the driver zoomed off.....
