Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Consciousness returned from an endless void.Lin En was suddenly overwhelmed by intense pain, as if he'd been hit by a truck—then run over again for good measure. Every bone in his body felt shattered.

"Wait… I was hit by a truck!"

Memories surged to the surface. He remembered the accident clearly. Rushing home after work to play his favorite One Piece browser game, Lin En, a typical overworked 996 office drone, hopped on his newly purchased electric scooter—half a month's salary gone in a flash—and headed toward his rented apartment. He never made it. At a turning intersection, a truck slammed into him. Everything went black.

"Damn it! My game! I finally got that Devil Fruit Fusion Card yesterday—today I could've used it to merge a second Devil Fruit! Who knows how long I'll have to wait now…"

Truly a One Piece and gaming fanatic—only someone like that would wake up from a serious accident and worry first about their in-game character.

As Lin En wallowed in frustration, a massive surge of foreign information flooded his brain like a tidal wave crashing into a narrow stream. The pain was excruciating—his vision darkened, and he nearly passed out again. Only after a long while did the flood subside. Soaked in sweat, his clothes clinging to his skin, he felt like he'd died all over again.

"No way… This can't be real. I've transmigrated?! What brand was that truck? The driver must've floored the gas pedal to send me flying this hard!"

As the information settled, Lin En finally understood: the data was the memory of another person—someone named Lin En Blair. He had transmigrated into the body of a man with the same name. Judging by the name alone, it was obvious this person was at least half Western, which made Lin En feel a bit better. At least he still had some Eastern blood flowing in this new body.

Lin En was no stranger to transmigration stories. He had often fantasized about how he'd live if he were ever transported to another world—but he never thought it would actually happen to him.

Who would've thought that getting hit by a truck would actually work?

His emotions were mixed—excitement at the opportunity, but also sorrow. His parents on Earth had probably already received the news. White-haired elders mourning a black-haired child… The pain and despair they must be feeling…

And then there was the near-maxed One Piece game account he had worked so hard on—and spent so much money upgrading. All gone.

His thoughts were interrupted by the searing pain in his body, dragging him back to reality. Despite having transmigrated, his situation was anything but good. The injuries were severe—he only transmigrated into this body because the original owner had died from them.

Worse still, he now faced a life-threatening pursuit.

After absorbing the memories of this "Lin En Blair," he learned that his father, William Blair, was a high-ranking noble—an Earl of the kingdom. As the eldest son, Lin En was first in line to inherit the title. But his mother had passed away years ago, and he was left with a cruel stepmother and a half-brother. While William Blair was away, the stepmother made her move—hiring assassins to kill him. Fortunately, the loyal old servant Lin Rongfu, left behind by his late mother, revealed surprising strength and helped him escape. But even so, the original Lin En died from his injuries, leading to the current situation.

Seriously… what rotten luck.

Not only did he transmigrate into a dying body, but he was also being hunted down. Classic protagonist setup.

Despite the absurdity of it all, Lin En knew he couldn't waste time. He needed to escape Kerry City. But the state of this body made that nearly impossible. He could barely breathe—let alone move, let alone run.

This is too damn hard!

"Ding! Game system binding complete. Activation in progress... 1%... 2%... 3%... 10%..."

He's here. He's coming. He walks with grace and divine timing!

A crisp notification rang out in his mind, jolting Lin En awake. There it was—the golden finger of every transmigrator's dreams!

A system! Right on cue!At this critical moment, it was nothing short of life-saving. Lin En's spirits soared.

"I knew it! I'm not unlucky. See? The system came through!"

"Activation complete. Congratulations, host! You've received a newbie gift pack. Due to the host's current dangerous situation, a temporary mission is issued: Successfully escape from Kerry City. Reward: One random Rokushiki (Six Powers) technique."

As system data appeared in his mind, Lin En's eyes widened.

Wait a minute—this was his One Piece browser game. The very same one he played religiously on Earth. He had died rushing home to play it. Now the game had followed him into this world… and evolved into a system?

Jackpot.

This game was known for being "pay-to-win," and Lin En had paid dearly—half his 996 salary had gone into it. He had nearly all the top-tier gear, skills, and Devil Fruits. If those came with the system...

He would ascend instantly. Forget running from assassins—he'd destroy them.

Please be OP. Please have my inventory!

Clenching his fists, Lin En muttered, "System, open my status panel!"

"Ding! Status panel activated. Please check your attributes."

[Character Panel]Name: Lin EnLevel: 0EXP: 0/100Power Value: 5Class: NoneSkills: NoneDevil Fruit: NoneTechniques: NonePhysique: NoneSpecial Traits: NoneEnergy: 0Backpack: 1x Newbie Gift PackMissions:

Main Quest 1: Dream of Max Level.Reach Level 20 (Reward: Upgrade Gift Pack)

Temporary Quest: Escape Kerry City Alive(Reward: Random Rokushiki Technique)

Looking at the empty panel, Lin En felt nothing but despair. So bare. So pitiful. So… fraudulent.

"System! Where the hell are my skills? My gear? All those Devil Fruits I collected—did you eat them?! I poured so much money into this game—gave up girlfriends, social life, even weekends! And this is how you repay me?!"

He looked and sounded like a jilted lover, devastated and betrayed. If someone saw him now, they might tear up in sympathy.

"Ding! During host's soul transmission through space-time, massive energy was consumed. All game data reset. Please continue working hard!"

Lin En nearly spat blood.

You bastard. "Continue working hard" my ass! This system reeks of corporate greed. Just like the game!

And now he had no money, no powers, and someone wanted him dead.

"Fine… System, open the newbie gift pack!"

At least he had that. A little consolation prize, maybe enough to help him survive.

"Ding! Confirm opening newbie gift pack?"

"Yes. Confirm!"

"Ding! Newbie gift pack opened! Congratulations, host! You've received the following:

Devil Fruit: Zoan-type, Mythical Beast Class – Phoenix Form (Perfect)

Skill: Basic Swordsmanship

Skill: Life Return (Seimei Kikan)"

Hell yes!

A Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit—rarer than Logia! It was the Phoenix Fruit used by Marco of the Whitebeard Pirates. While not the most aggressive fruit, it was arguably the most suitable for Lin En's current situation—it granted healing powers. Marco was practically a ship's doctor.

Perfect!

He checked the other rewards:Basic Swordsmanship—standard, but solid.Life Return—a high-tier skill allowing mastery of body functions, famously used by CP9. With training, it could grant insane recovery and control—just what Lin En needed.

Focusing his mind, he summoned the Devil Fruit from the system's backpack. It appeared instantly in his hand—a pear-shaped fruit with light blue patterns forming a bird motif across its skin.

The weight felt real.This wasn't a dream.

When he used to watch the anime and play the game, he often fantasized about having a Devil Fruit of his own. Now, fantasy had become reality.

But something caught his eye…

"System, what does the word 'Perfect' next to the Devil Fruit mean?"

"Ding! All Devil Fruits produced by the system are in perfect condition. They are immune to seawater weakness."

YES!System-made = premium quality.

Overjoyed, Lin En didn't hesitate. He lifted the fruit to his mouth—and bit down hard.

"Blegh—!"

A loud gag echoed in the room.
