He glanced toward a pile of freshly slain bandits, their corpses still warm.With another sigh, he turned back to the book and tore the page. As he did, it glowed with a golden light and disintegrated into tiny particles.
Suddenly, a modern-looking spear materialized beside him, and a notification popped up on his system:

After clearing the notification, he picked up the spear to inspect it.

Zenith: "God damn it… I finally got access to my features, and I had to finish this goddamn quest. Like, what do you mean 'kill 5 people' in the middle of nowhere?! And what about my fucking morality?!"
Zenith continued cursing for maybe two straight minutes before stopping and sighing deeply.
Zenith: "Alright… now where should I go?"
He put a hand on his chin, trying to figure out his next move. After five minutes of silent pondering, he reached into his bag, pulled out a compass, and decided to head east.
But before leaving, he turned toward the bandit camp he had just massacred. Might as well plunder it first.
After some scavenging, he had collected a fair amount:

Once done, he put out the campfire and searched through his bag for the compass again. With it in hand, he started his journey eastward.
[20 Days Later]
After what felt like an eternity, Zenith finally spotted signs of civilization. Being alone for 25 days shouldn't have been mentally exhausting, but getting forcibly dragged into another world, dropped in the middle of nowhere, and tasked with murder had weighed heavily on him.
The sight of a city brought him immense relief.Until he noticed something: Four Lupo guards stood at the gate.
His mind blanked out for a moment, before reality hit him.
Zenith: "…Fuck. I'm in Siracusa. What kind of luck is this…? I don't even have an ID. I'm so cooked."
He cursed the absurdity of his fate — ending up in one of the few cities where a minor inconvenience could get him beaten to death. Then, narrowing his eyes at the two guards on the right, he muttered:
Zenith: "You know what? Fuck it."
He focused his gaze and activated [Invitation].
[Guard POV]
The guard, standing beside his colleague, was casually checking authorization papers when something strange happened — he felt something appear in his left hand.

He blinked once.Then twice.
Guard 1: "Hey… look at this."
He handed the paper to his partner.
Guard 2: "Huh? What's this?" He took the invitation and read it."Where did you even get this? And are you really believing something like that? What the hell is this 'Library' anyway?"
Guard 1: "I don't know! It just appeared in my hand. Come on, it can't hurt to try, right?" he said with a smirk.
Guard 2: "You're really annoying sometimes…" He handed the paper back with a sigh.
Guard 1: "Don't worry. Once I win this challenge, I'll sell the spear and buy you a drink."With a wave, he stepped into the city limits, pen in hand.
As soon as he signed, his vision went black.
[Zenith POV]
Zenith: "Fucking finally. Took him long enough."
He snapped his fingers, and in the next instant, he was standing at the entrance of the Library.
A moment later, the guard opened the door, visibly confused.
Guard: "What the—?! Where am I?! Who are you?!"
The guard pointed his metal bat at Zenith, who replied with a faint smile.
Zenith: "Welcome, dear guest. I am Zenith, Chief Librarian of this Library. You signed the invitation I gave you, so I assume you're here for the reward?"
The guard blinked, then nodded.Guard: "What kind of ordeal do I have to overcome? Because if this isn't about books, I'm not seeing anyone else around," he said half-joking.
Zenith: "Simple. Defeat me in a duel, and the reward is yours."
Guard: "Alright then. When do we start?" He slung his bat onto his shoulder, grinning.
Zenith: "Well… now."
He snapped his fingers.
They were teleported to the General Work Floor, a massive bridge constructed from gray books, stretching into a void. Each of them stood at opposite ends.
Zenith: "May you find what you're looking for in this place."
He pulled the spear from his back and immediately activated [Shin], enveloping himself in a glowing golden aura. Then, he manifested [Mang] — a ring of light appeared around the base of his spear's blade.At his current strength, he could only summon one ring — but it was enough.
The guard had approached quickly and swung his bat at Zenith, who sidestepped with ease. He raised his spear and countered with a downward strike enhanced by [Strong Strike].
The guard blocked with his metal bat, but the blow, empowered by both Mang and Strong Strike, sent shockwaves through the weapon and into his arms.His stance broke instantly.
Stumbling backward, the guard dropped his bat — but Zenith didn't let up.
He stepped forward and thrust his spear directly into the guard's neck, killing him in a single clean motion.
[Curtains Closed]
Zenith: "Fighting one guy is way easier than getting jumped by six bandits."
He wiped the nonexistent sweat from his brow and watched the guard's body dissolve into light. A book appeared in his left hand.

He pocketed it, grabbed the entry pass, and glanced at the bat and suit.He decided to store them for now — maybe they'd be useful later.
Suddenly, he was teleported back into the real world.He walked into the queue and waited for his turn.
Once at the gate, he showed his ID and entry pass to a guard, who gave them a quick glance — and waved him through without a word.
And with that… Zenith entered the city of Siracusa, walking the streets, searching for a hotel.
